Genuine Call from Santander. Just made a large transaction from bank and they called to confirm it was me.

This really is a genuine call from Santander. I Got a call from this number, but didn't manage to get to the phone quickly enough. They left a message asking me to call them back on a different freephone number. However, I did recognise the name and voice of the person who left the message. He works at Santander Select in Ireland, and he is someone I have had contact with a few times over the past couple of weeks. This is not a scam, but they probably are trying to upgrade you to a Select customer so that they can sell you other services, such as investments and insurance. I would advise anyone receiving a call from this number to ring Santander directly to find out why they are calling. Over the phone, they seem to tell you which month you were born in, then ask you to then tell them the day and year. I wouldn't answer this until I phoned them back directly myself to be 100% sure that I really was speaking to Santander.

Irritating 0800 call

call this morning, said they were from Santander, wanted details of spouses account. I told him to hang up. I called Santander Customer Services and they said everything was OK... They didn't seem to know what this number was. if you call back you get automated response

Scam caller pretending to be from Santander and wanting to confirm details of my account. Phoned Santander via the number on the back of my card - they confirmed it was not them.

Scammers!!!  Very sophisticated with 0800 numbers and if you don't give out security details they give real bank number contacts!!! Give out nothing and phone your bank!!!!

we have received a phone call from this number stating they were Santander my husband put me on but  I was told they would not speak to me until my husband has answered some security questions but they then said I could ring back or go into a branch so I said I would go into the branch

Caller asked for wrong person, I said they weren't here, but is this Santander bank?
They hung up!
3rd call from same number in 2 days!

DO NOT believe any of the posts on here from 'satisfied customers' claiming this is an actual Santander number. IT IS NOT. These posts are from the same FILTHY SCUM behind the fraud in the first place. I have just returned from my local branch of Santander where I spoke at length (on an internal phone) to the Fraud and Security dept. This number has NOTHING to do with the bank. The Callers have NOTHING to do with the bank. They are criminals. Worse than the sh** on your shoes. Block this number and then report it to the police. Only when complaints reach a critical mass will they investigate.

PS. Do NOT call the bank to check using the same telephone number the criminals called you on. Lines can be kept open after call has ended and you may find yourself talking to the scammers pretending to be the bank!!

Totally fraudulent number. They even set up a fake site n Twitter account. They've hacked into loads of data and r using other numbers. Will say all sorts to try and seem real Santander ECT. The real bank has been made aware last night and trying to sort mess out. Warn others please

This fraud number has people working for them putting msgs up on number look-up sites like this to make out they are genuine. Very sly complex operation

They called following a complaint that I made online regarding fees taken on my account - Legitimate

called me today 26/12/17 Boxing day! asked me if i was someone with a different first name. I said no. they said we were just talking and asked my what my name was. I gave them an earfull about phoning me up on boxing day pretending to be a bank and hung up. It was all very suspicious

This one is genuine. I was told by Santander (who I had called) that I would receive a call from their security people. When the call came through, they asked me key security questions (not account, password or pin details) and they gave me the name of the person I had spoken to earlier.

The phone rang off before I could answer.  No message was left which I always find suspicious so I called 1471 and this was the number given.  Looking at previous messages it has been in use for some time.

Had a phone call today on this number, claiming it was Santander. Reported to police.

This number called claiming to be from Santander with the caller asking for personal account. However I hung up and checked with my actual Santander number. They checked this is not one of their 0800 numbers. This is a scam hang up.
