hello, please help me, why can to call me from 08004089340 phone number?

Virgin Media number. they been calling me from same number for last few days trying selling me their Phone thingy.

Keep getting calls from 08004089340 purporting to be Virgin Media. Don't believe it as they will not take up my invitation to send their details in writing. Refuse to give them any information they ask for as genuine Virgin Media would know those already. Virgin Media ought to be able to put a stop on bogus marketing in there name if they have any integrity as a company.

Frequent calls from this number. Always hang up as they ask for me by my maiden name
from years ago when not ex directory. Been virgin customer for over ten years  but under married manonly - very strange

These calls are like Fonejacker prank calls asking for bank account details.

I can onfirm that it is VM, i called the official number and spoke to them and they said i had been called by their sales department and they gave me the time of the call. i told them i was not interested and to take me off their list. we'll see what happens.

Just recieved a call from a lady from Virgin accounts team stating she could get me benefits from my Virgin account but wanted my account password, I told no company would ever do that and told her to get stuffed , she argued some more and then cleared the call.
This number is bogus representation of Virgin media accounts and needs to be stopped with this method of phishing customers account infomation

Just recieved 2 calls from this number the first at 13.22 and the second just now at 13.37.

The first of the calls I could hear the phantom Chinese lady in the background followed by silence, the second was just all silence! Strange!

So why are Virgin Media giving their customers crank calls? Is that what I pay my money by direct debit for each month????

I keep getting calls from this number too-08004089340 and it,s driving me bonkers as it,s everday early morning,afternoon and evening :i have been getting them for a few weeks now!! 1471" says" its virginmedia and my sister took a call from an Indian woman today but she wouldn,t leave any message for my sister to give to me.I,ve now asked why i keep being pestered by this number on the virginmedia forum /website :hopefully the calls will now stop.!!

had the same calls now for months and im really fed up of it,they call at all times of the day,evenings and weekends! Its come to the point now where i dont answer my fone anymore but do the 1471 every time...not happy

i to received this call claming to be from virginmadia and form readind your comments it mostly seem to be a woman well she asked for passwords which fair,but then started asking which bank it was paid from which i put the phone down.i then rang virginmadia and reported the call,virgin person was looking into it but he seem to think it was customer service as he told me my account was opened just before i rang,he did say he will get back to me and i will post it on when i find out.always ring the company who they say there with and report it to stay safe

I've had numerous calls from this number over the past few weeks, up to 4 times yesterday 28.6.10 that I know of. I just let it go onto the answer phone, but no message is left.

i recieved a call from 08004089340 who said they were virgin media and asked me for my account number. i replied that if they had my account details then they also had my name and i asked them to tell me my name and suprisingly they did do however , i phoned virgin media who customer services who looked it up and said it was a scam. later that day the i got a call from the 08004089340 number and i told them that they were not virgin and not to call again to which the caller recited the conversation that i had had with virgin media customer services word for word. well that showed that they wern't scam artists and why did virgin media deny any knowledge of them ? the caller said he would remove my number. 15 mins later it happened again i got a call from the same 08004089340 to which i demanded a to know what was going on after i said that i was going to the police the caller got a manager on. i told her that i wanted to know the head of the departments name and contact detalis . after a long wait she came back and gave me an email address that ended fitel.com. i asked who fitel were and she admitted that fitel is the company who phone and are paid to do so by virgin.  i then managed to get from her the compays address and the managers name.  its ;-         Stephen Teesdale
