Report a phone call from 08004089340 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- SeanHello, I got this number today, didn't pick up as I normall y never pick up 0800 numbers unless I know who they are. Was slightly suspicious and went straight to google to find out! So glad I did, because I am generally quite gullable, I might have given details out!
- JimCall from 08004089340 at 15:45, sounds like a young british femail accent. The girl asked to speak with the account holder - that's me, they claimed they were from Virgin Media noticed the latest use of my home phone and would like to offer me some money saving deals. Please can I confirm 2nd and 4th digit of passcode. I told them I don;t recall it, she said OK but before I could let her continue, I asked for her number so I may call her back.
She said I can contact the Virgin Media Customer Services Team on 150 but they are unable to offer me the deal that she could today!
I thanked her for her time and ended the call.- Caller: Virgin Media
- donghe's calling me many and even ask for my nationality..he got no good in his accent and nervously speaking..so i suspect its a fake virgin media staff..please do something to stop this..
- Caller: virgin media????
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ReetsNumber keeps calling. Daily in the evenings. Pick up and say hello and there is silence.
Really, really annoying!! - richard arnottreceived call 10.48am 18th May from this number. Three rings then cut off. Don't want to be contacted again.
- Caller: unknown but could be Virgin
- paul ggot a call today at 2.30pm said they could give me a deal on my phone package all they need is password and bank details yet again people who have no other reason to call but to scam someone dont do it..
- Caller: virgin media
- DanI was also getting this call every hour. I decided to pick it up and told her I know she's not from virgin and to [***] off stop calling me. She then went silent and went.
- TetoGot five calls over the last 2 days, unfortunately i wasn't able to answer at the time, i was really worry, 0800's freak me out for no good reason :p
The thing is that i am a Virgin Media customer, which makes me believe that the company has given its customers details to a third part! i am not sure if its legal, However i am sure that is printed in tiny letters in the F**** contract! - ewwfrVirgin Media

- ChrisDo not entre into dialogue and politely ask to be removed from there call list stating not interested - Received up to 6 + calls a day from this number. Caller stated from Virgin and asked for account pass words etc. which I declined the opportunity to provide them - IMPORTANT: Previously speaking to an agent acting for Virgin saw Virgin telephone account altered and they sent me a sim only for a mobile and proceeded to set up to take monthly direct debit for a monthly contract I never agreed to. Took weeks to sort out and still got letters saying they had been unable to take direct debit for months after it was cancelled! Please be ultra cautious very poor sales tactics that lack honesty and integrity.

- SalI've been getting a lot of calls from this number several times a day for about a week and a half. Sometimes very late in the evening. I did cancel part of my Virgin/NTL package about 2 weeks ago as the monthly bills were getting ridiculous even though I hardly use my phone. Still on phone and broadband while I look into options.
I thought by narrowing the service down I could analyse a bit better why my bills are so high. Often over £75/month (have been over £100) usually aroung £70. I'll still be very lucky if the bill is below £55 but will need to wait at least a month to see how it will pan out.
The number quoted here never leaves a message. Reading reports here tells me I'm glad I haven't answered. I don't know if they can reverse the cost of the call if you answer. I do get regular mail and email offering a free virgin phone, 100 minutes, 100 texts etc but totally not interested. I've been a customer for at least 10 years since it was ntlworld. I think they are a rip-off now and recently discovered that if you return a call by pressing 3 after a message from a local or national call you get charged even if you are paying £8 for unlimited calls from UK, £1.50 for reduced cost mobile calls, £1.50 for reduced international calls. It took a long time to find that out (hidden charges) when phoning to analyse my bill. Many times phoning over last 2-3 years. I know I don't use my phone very much but they always assured me my bill would be much higher if I didn't pay for the extras (Unlimited, Anytime UK calls etc). They always also told me I wouldn't save much by stopping TV as it was 'free', but I decided to finally try this and THEN they told me I could still get Freeview at no charge and this would reduce my BASIC bill by about £15 /month! Like many people I am struggling and I often told them this. I am on my own so it's only me and there's only so much TV Broadband and telephone you can use. Thanks to all the folk posting here. - Sal (again)Just to add there is another number phoning in between the 0800 number quoted here. It is 0116225 3841 and it has just called. I didn't answer, but last week I read similar posts to this about it. Suggests they might be trying to bypass the people who won't answer 0800 numbers. I am also on TPS so shouldn't be getting cold calling. Maybe have to get in touch with them now to complain.
- NaichSuspicious call from someone supposedly calling from Virgin Media. Wanted to know if I would like a discount on my phone calls. She didn't have an answer to my repeated question "Why do you need to ask me - who wouldn't want a discount if it is actually a genuine discount?" and seemed more interested in getting my password. After more questioning she was getting more and more incoherent and in the end I hung up when I couldn't understand her any more.
- Caller: Virgin Media (apparently)
- ELLIEI don't know who this is. I have had several calls from this number over the past few days.

- BonkThey called me on my mobile, stupidly refused to give me any specific details. They asked for my password but could not gibe me any personal details or a reference number; would not let me get off the line to go to toilet. Very noisy call centre. Called herself Marianne from Phillippines..... Offered to send engineer round to house.
Quite angry to find out they are professional scamsters. What are Virgin actually doing about this?!
Can the Police not just close them down and seize assets? Have already contacted local police friend and MP. Good luck- Caller: "Virgin Media"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- EssESSGot this phonecall 10 mins ago on my o2 mobile, was just curious,so came here to find out. Just put the number on my blacklist on mobile,so won't get any more. Virgin have all my details already,so why not just email me??
- Caller: Unknown
- CBI have several missed calls from this number. I tried calling it back when I was informed that I would be charged I decided against it. I loathe cold-calling and believe it should be outlawed as a commercial strategy; especially outside normal office hours.
- Caller: Unknown
- MattHave received two missed calls from this number today. I deliberately do not answer numbers I don't recognise unless I'm expecting the call. They ring about three of four times before disconnecting. I have been reading previous comments and I am hoping not to receive any more calls, otherwise I will be contacting VM to complain.
- Caller: Virgin Media, apparently
