This keeps calling my landline, but no-one there and no message, recorded or SMS Text.  I'm fed up with the interruptions - putting it on my phone list as nuisance so if they ever do try to talk to me, I can have the appropriate response ready!

Got a text (quoted a number then stopped). I 1471ed and this number came up. I came on here hoping to find an answer but only read about people annoyed about number. No real answers here. So I did a bit of research. Here is the definitive answer.
 BT own the number. This is the number BT use to convey text message to your landline. The messages could be sent by anyone who wants to convey a message to you: eg: PayPal, home delivery companies, catalogue companies etc... Even scammers. If you have a mobile, you can send a text message to your phone. The number will come up as the one above. So, BT only carry the number and are not the authors of the text.

Had a call from this number well SMS telling me they had a parcel for me and to go to a website and enter a number - sounded fishy as I couldn't really under satnd the website name and they gave the parcel code very rapidly. Ignored it and googled the number the call came from and here I am

Not a number I recognised.

Just had a message from this number - it's an SMS message delivery service via B.T. My message was about a parcel that will be delivered today.
I have disabled the service (If you stay on the phone long enough it gives you this option after you've listened to the message, which is so unclear you need to listen a couple of times). not only did I get this call at 7:00am this morning (bang goes the weekend lie in!) but it was a seller from Ebay who used it as that's the only parcel I'm waiting for. Think I'll give them a friendly call at 7:00am tomorrow to let them know I received the parcel safely.. ;-)

It is a text message from new look giving a delivery times if you give a home number it will keep ringing. But you can't call back. Just ignore it will candle after delivery is made.

this number just rang EDF Energy's call centre and it was just an automated message stating a message has been left...!

This was a valid message telling me that a parcel was out for delivery today, which I am expecting, but the message was very difficult to understand. I would expect better quality voice messages these days.

Got a call from them this morning, didn't answer and no message left. I'm not expecting a delivery of any kind, so have no idea why they're phoning me.

They keep calling sometimes up to 6 plus calls in a day some times more. Lets hope we can all work together to stop all these cold callers or time wasters.

answer PARCELFORCE they send out an sms message to indicate delivery of a parcel, useless when sent to a BT landline with no text message facility what are they thinking???

why is bt allowing these callers to get through? everyone is absolutely sick of them

I am already registered not to receive SMS text messages but this 08005875290 number managed to ring at 7.10 am, woke me up, I didn't wait to hear message but it could not have been BT SMS as I checked and my phone is still registered not to receive text messages from them
Does anyone know who these people are and how to stop them?
