A girl called my mother the other day from this sane number offering to have her number removed from telemarketing lists for a fee of £28 per month for the first year and then FOC from then on. Unfortunately she agreed and gave her card details before checking them out. She has since cancelled her card with her bank. Probably won't see the £28 again but at least they won't get anymore.

They have sent a letter today demanding £29 to end contract he had cancelled direct debit but they say he should have written to them, but as he had no written contract he didn't know this and at 73 his memory isn't great. I didn't know my dad had this service until this morning. and that letter had the name Secure Telephone Services LTD on it but when I rang to tell them where to shove it lo and behold it was the Homguard Direct number!!

This number called and tried to con my elderly mother out of £98.99 to block nuicence calls! She asked me to read them her credit card details thankfully so I realised what a shower of s**t she was talking to. I spoke to them to give them a piece of my mind and the guy was bloody rude - told me I'd better watch my mother because there are some dodgy people about. I reported them to trading standards but they will just keep changing the name - scum the lot of them praying on old people ripping them off? Go get yourself a real job you [***]!!

I had a similar call today, wanted £98 as a "final payment" and alleged I had paid £49 two years ago. Quoted the last four digits of my (lapsed) credit card. Refused to pay and the caller threatened me with late payment penalties.

And they're still at it - today is April 5th 2018. Just had a call saying I owed them £149.99 for the second year of my two year service. The worrying thing is that we did try their call blocking service back in 2013 ... I wonder where the bully who called me got the info he had from? Web site is down and freephone number is permanently engaged.

Received a belligerent call from Unity Cover demanding money as an unpaid debt for call blocking. We were flabbergasted as we owe no one any money. But the caller was aggressively persistent and threatened court proceedings and that the price would go up by 1/3 if we didn’t pay. He quoted most of our debit card number and due to the threats we gave him the final required digits. The call blocking facility was purchased in Sept 2014 from Homeguard direct limited for a sum which we were assured was a one off payment which covered us for life. We are both in our eighties and should not be harassed like this by these rogues. Homeguard Direct Ltd and Unity Cover are part of a huge scam. Don’t pay them a penny if they threaten court proceedings tell them to send the papers and you will see them in court. They are nothing but Rogues and deserve to be put away. Needless to say when the reality of what had happened to us we had our card stopped.
