- PeterHomeguard Direct, rang me last night about nuisance calls, the operators name was Steve Miller. He said for £1;94/month they bar any cold calls. I asked if it was paid monthly, he said yes, it will cost £69:99 for 3 years with 6 months free.Later that night I googled them, and this is one of the sites that came up. Rang Visa Debit Retailer Disputes at 9am this morning and requested a block on them tacking money from my account. This was done, but at 1pm I checked my account and noticed £69;99 was being processed. Rang Visa Debit and they told me it was requested at 12;25pm and the block would not be in place for 24hrs. Rang HGD and spoke to some guy who asked did I take out protection,I told him I wanted to cancel and would post a letter this evening, asked about refund and he replied that when they receive letter I will be paid.We will see!Don't trust these people.

- ...Started work at homeguard direct yesterday, didn't seem right, we don't get any information other than the script, told to pressure the elderly, think I'll be leaving but not before I ask a few more questions.... oh yes, they claim to be a 'non-profit' organisation, I asked why and he couldn't answer.
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Mandy CookeHad a call from Homeguard Re:My water pipe insurance. Same story was called by a man by the name of Allan,he informed me that my premium would go down by half as I had not a call out for the last year. He wanted my card details declined those but gave him my bank details. How do these people know what Insurance you have the new policy arrived they wanted nearly four times the amount than I'm paying at the moment.
Got in contact with my insurance company put them in the picture and they informed me that Homeguard was nothing to do with their company going to look into it . Also informed my bank to cancel my D.D. with them. So Homeguard is not connected with Homeserve so beware don't fall into their trap as I did- Caller: Homeguard
- Ddh| 1 replyHave just had a call from homeguard direct telling me that as I had been receiving a high number of sales calls recently they could for a small fee stop them completely. I was convinced until I asked if they could email me some details so I could read it all through first and the guy had to go and get a pen and paper !!!! Really......in a call center?? I got a little suspicious and even more so when their web site says it's undergoing a re-vamp !!!!!

- ex employee replies to DdhI was there when they started and we were ripping off old people tbh. Not that we targetted them, it just tended to be the older people who signed up. Still tho the lads who ran it at the time ( matt something and cameron robinson) did'nt seem to care and just laughed about it. They knew it was dodgy but were just interested in making money for themselves. Theres an older guy terry mills who is behind the scenes taking the biggest cut of the profits. Not sure how it works now as i left a long time ago but iknow it was dodgy. Really surprised the company is still trading tbh, thought it would be shut down by now. Karma comes around so they ll get what they deserve in some way or another.
- ex employee replies to HGD AgentActually, it was called homeserve when they first started and had to change cos the real homeserve caught wind of it. They were passing themselves off as homeserve who work on behalf of southern water to con people into signing up with them. They called themselves homeserve uk haha but were quickly found out by homeserve gb. I know this for a fact so u r lying u [***].
- Mrs S LiptrotA company called Home Guard called my elderly father, who has a small insurance to cover costs of central heating repairs, etc with a company called Home Serve (United Utilities). A female, named Grace, told my dad that because he had never made a claim his policy would be lower. She then prompted him for his banks sorting code, repeating the first two numbers of it to him but asking for the remaining four. Fortunately my dad became suspicious and offered an excuse to Grace and then rang me for my opinion on the matter. I intend to contact Home Serve to inform them of this incident as many of their customers may have been targeted. I must also add that before this incident he had also been pestered by a similar company for many months saying they were from Sky but they were not. How many elderly people have they managed to scam? Its very worrying to say the least.

- Mr Blandford| 1 replyAfter investigating certain things on this company, it turns out that they are not FCA Regulated, i have made the authority aware of the fact that they are claiming to be and i'm sure in due course they will be investigated, i have also looked at other companies that are associated with the Director (Cameron Robinson) they also had a company called ‘my cover insurance’ in Brighton and an office in Hilsea. Turns out that this guy is a scammer and that the other company associated has been liquidated. He turns out to be envolved in a drainage company and a tps one to in Littlehampton. I would urge you all that if you receive any phone calls then report it to the FCA. This is probably the reason as to why their website is under reconstruction.

- Hard Earned replies to Mr BlandfordHomeguard Direct conned my wife last week into believing they atre part of British Gas.
From what I have read on here, same MO, "as you haven't claimed in the last 3 years, we have found a way of reducing your 120 premium down to 60.
Policy papers arrived yesterday dated 26th March. Cancellation letter sent today 6 days still within 10 day cooling period.
British Gas Fraud Office informed.
Bank Fraud Department informed.
I assume that others have already taken action but I will now start informing the various authorities. - Jami| 1 replyGot a call this pm from a company calling itself 'Telephone Security', then in the body of their DD guarantee, 'Secure Telephone Services', offering to stop all nuisance calls. Was very wary, and asked several questions, but caved under pressure and gave the caller my bank details. An hour later, and after checking the company out, I'm now trying to cancel over the phone, but the person I spoke to is conveniently on another call. I don't expect he'll call me back, so will pop into the bank first thing to cut it off at the pass. Was told to expect paperwork through soon, and that I'd have 10 days' cooling off time. Now checking STS website, and it appears you can only block calls at the receiving end, using a call blocker, or as someone else commented, a particular type of phone.

- Ursylaw replies to JamiToday the 27th April 2014 we have just found out from my 70 year old mother in law that she received a call on the 23rd April 2014 from a company called Home Guard Direct and was spoken to by a lady called Louise. Was talked into taken out a 3 year plan to stop nuisance calls for £69.00. Paper work would be sent through and that here was a 10 day cooling off period. The funds were requested from her Santander account on the 24th April and debited on the 26th April. They are fast at taking the money. Unfortunately, we were 24 hours too late to stop the payment, but have put a disclaimer through her bank to investigate and to see if we can get the funds back, which I doubt we will be able to do so, as she gave her own details out over the phone to them!. Just wish she had been told earlier and we may have been able to stop another vulnerable person being tricked into losing money for no service. WE WILL BE REPORTING THIS TO TRADING STANDARDS. As should everyone who has been conned.
- Old-Mother-RileyYour mother-in-law is covered by the Distance Selling Regulations. See http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regula ... ing-regulations Act quickly to notify Firm of the cancellation and that law will be on your side.
- EX SATELLITE ASSURED EMPLOYEE replies to a victimWRONG! satellite assured are in Chichester West Sussex
- Sarah RadfordVery legit company. Worked for them for 1 year and the staff are treated well and trained well. Absurd allegations of scamming are untrue! Why on earth would you still give bank details if you had become suspicious? Anyways I was top seller for a long while, made 40 a week on occasion.....
- reply to sarah Radford| 1 reply40 sales a week, targeting old people. To get your commission?
You people make me SICK!
my grandmother is 84 and suffers with dementia, when i last visited, i looked through her bank statements and could see that she had been signed up for this call blocking service 4 TIMES!
DISGUSTING WORKPLACE, WITH DISGUSTING WORK PEOPLE!
- Sarah Radford replies to reply to sarah RadfordHow dare you! Just because I accidentally signed a Mrs Scott up 5 times does not make me a crook! And just because the admin girl (Louise I believe her name was) tells agents to search through data and target the "Margaret's and Maureen's" does not mean we targeted old people!
