i work and dont claim benefits so why are you ringing me...give these people a break how rude!!!!

my 15 year old daughter has just had a call and a voicemail from this number!!!!!!!!

I've received 2 calls from this number, one on my mobile on one on my home phone!  I have answer phones on both my phones!  They left a kind of 'heavy breathing' on my home answer machine then the phone cuts off!
I rang the number back and it just said that they had tried to contact me and would try again later.
They did NOTsay where they were from on the returned call!
I am fed up to the back teeth with these cold calls!  I have my landline as an ex-directory number but I still get all these damn calls

i got a call from this number at 08:22 am i looked up this sight to find out who it was and was very helpfull to find out it was the jobcentre trying to get a hold of me thanks

keeps calling me dont know why !

Made an online claim for JSA yesterday - Jobcentre rang me today on this number to arrange my appointment - It's a freephone callcentre of the DWP

Got a call from 08007 838527 and the female caller asked for my wife but by her maiden name which made me suspicious. I asked who was calling and she said a government agency. I asked which one and she said she could only disclose this to my wife.  I told her if she would not disclose which agency she was from to me, then I would not be passing her over to my wife. She ended the call saying she would write. I caleed 1471 and found the number. When I called it back it was a recording with no announcement identifying who they were, just a message to say they would call back another time. All very dodgy !

CSA related - I had a case with them until my youngest started work, when I contacted them to get the payments stopped they basically screwed up so this number came up on my fone when they called me back. My case was always handled by Belfast, but this office is in Stockport, and is basically the f**K up department for a number of different DWP bodies. All legit, but as a side note they werent exactly sure how to get back the £1000 I have overpaid my ex, had the cheek to say was it ok to call it quits!! didnt quite work like that when I lost my job some years ago and they still wanted £480 a month!!!!!

Just had a call from the number asking for my n/i number.  Said I dont give out that sort of info over the phone.  Asked what it was about, and got told they couldn't tell me till I pass their security question, but they're from the child support agency.  Thing is me and my ex wife had a private agreement since 1999 so dont know why they have got in touch now.  Plus they called on my home number which is ex directory with preferential service.

Your ex probably wants more money off you and has passed your home phone number onto CSA if she knows it.

I had a phone call off this number at 3pm on a saturday, if its the csa I wont be answering, and all you ppl who stand in judgement of ppl who refuse to co operate, can swivel, I have been used as a punch bag by my ex partners family, caught her cheating on me gave her £5,000 pounds to help her with her money problems (over the past few months) after watching my mother dying of liver cancer,  was stalked by her family for years, and now it looks like she has given the csa my number, very amuzing

This number has been calling my number for the past 2 months 3-4 times a day and my mobile why I do not know as I do not claim any benefits, I am a grandmother, why me.

I just had a call from this number saying they were the CSA and asked me for National Insurance Number. It was a woman with a Liverpudlian accent. My advice is to ask for things in writing on headed paper with the name of who it is going to and numbers you can verify this. Also ask for a direct line and the switchbard line to double check. This woman wouldn't tell me what it was about until I gave her the details she wanted. I told her that it was a criminal offence to withold her identity thoughout any calls or correspondence with me. She wouldn't give me her name or her department, only that she was from CSA. In the end I said I had to go to work and would be happy to conduct any business with them when i got a letter. She said she would call back tonight at 6...it is now 7.30...

Hi, thanks for the heads up on this number - I kept getting calls on both home and mobile - after reading this I answered the next time - a voice asked is this ** - I said whose calling, the voice said are you ** - I said I'd like to know whose calling, so the man said, it's a government office - I said, well that's what you sayy, I've had enough 0800 numbers calling here, if you have anything to say, please put it in writing..the man said, have you contacted a governement office recently - I repeated about putting things in writing - I was polite throughout and then I hung up - I have only made enquiries with the CSA - so it must be them, but the scary thing is I made the enquiry using their online messaging service and I DIDN'T put any telephone numbers on it!!.......
So fed up of this governemnt and their underhand ways ....

Phil, all the people who stand in judgement have clearly never had the misfortune of any dealings with the CSA, after 10 years of their cr*p and them stealing my money, ignoring facts and doing as they please, I no longer co-operate either - so you carry on as you are and you people out there who castigate people like me and Phil, remember you DO NOT know us or our circumstances and are lucky to be cocooned in your safe world - and before you judge me, I am a middle age woman, who always PAID her  CSA for years, even the bits I argued I didn't owe and eventually got a little back -  was lied to and cheated by the government - oh and I've always worked, I don't claim benefits and  as soon as CSA payments stopped my son's father, who has never worked but hung on to his son (mistakenly I thought it was love) - kicked him out and he came back to live with me...... do not judge people you don't know.....even if you know them, you may not know their situation as well as you think you do - if you have a friend in a similar situation - support them, they probably need it!

i got a call today saying she was from a goverment agency 08007838527 asking me to give out personal information i refused she was insisting i give national insurance number i explained she should tell me  who she is  where she is calling from  and what her business was and untill that i would not give any information i recieved this call at 6pm on 18/02/2011

I feel reassured that people are saying it us the csa, my call from this number was very bizzar, apparently a payment had been missed and he would like my card details to make this payment. When I asked why the payment hadnt gone out eg bounced dd or cancelled dd he said he couldn’t find why on his system, also was unable to tell me the date my payment went out or the amount I normally paid or whether the recipitant had received money. My response was I would check myself then get in touch with them. I’m not surprised the csa don’t achieve much when this is the sort of phonecalls they make!

it is the CSA, it is the debt collection department, don't answer the call!!!!

asked to speak to my husband but wouldnt say who she was or which company!!!!
