Said it's from British Gas, but did not even know my first name or the type of property we live in (strange for someone you pay money to for full insurance!!!). Did not have our BG reference number either. I checked on British Gas "phone identifier" page. The caller is fake and has nothing to do with British Gas.

I have not given consent to receive these calls, I am registered with the TPS, British Gas know this and seem incapable of stopping this harassment.
When I decide to replace the boiler British Gas are unlikely to be chosen as it would be my chance to escape them BUT would that stop them? - ricco replies to ccMaybe you shouldn't write to them.

We had the early morning call whilst I was in bed, by the time I get to the phone they are long gone and best way it to trace their phone number online. I booked my boiler service yesterday online because they said it was due last month but earliest appointment they could book my service was 21 January Next Year!
British Gas and their online booking system is not real, you book it online and then they start repeatedly rinning you all the time day and night offering you an immediate that day service; we have to move a settee, a solid coffee table and half the room around and they want to come in the next 30 minutes because their online system cannot plan any better! - Annoyed JonesRang twice yesterday and 6 times today. This number called me at 1700 saying that they had a call from my previous address saying they had received my renewal notice, so he wanted to check they had the right address for me. "What address was that?" I asked. "I cannot tell you that due to the Data Protection Act" he said. Then he asked me to go through security questions. So I said that the address the letter I received yesterday from them was obviously correct. What a waste of time these people are. What do they really want? Probably to sell me some extras.

I have a £30 a month homecare contract with them so they must think they can ring me every few days and flog me a new boiler. This will be the third call this month, the other two calls actually had a salesperson on the line who appeared to be new to the job. In an average week we get from six to sixteen various marketing calls from different sources, some silent, some with an automated voice and some with a telesales employee victim on the other end. They have learnt that "withheld" and "external" caller display goes unanswered so now they try legitimate private numbers to call from avoiding the switchboard default user ID.
