Report a phone call from 08009889546 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Shazza| 2 repliesThis number called and left no message earlier today? Does anyone have any idea who it might be? I'm guessing its BT as I've had another 08009 number ringing me recently.
- SteI'd also love to know who this number belongs to as I've had this same miscalled number phone me randomly over the past couple of months and no message left.
- GazI had a few calls from this number too.
Its registered to Opal Telecom Limited a carphone warehouse company so probably no more sinister than touting for business. - anniehad few calls they dont speak when i pick up ! cant see the point in that
- PaoloI was getting these every day and called BT, they gave the following number:
08704443969
This number is for the "Silent Call Guard" which is additional to the TPS (because it's too bloody simple to have just one list!).
I have registered my number, apparently it only takes 48 hours for this to take effect... fingers crossed!- Caller: Computer Dialler
- PaulThis was an 0800 number and was heavy breathing - lucky me - just as well it wasn't my kids picked up the phone - Call timed at 2105 UK time
- Caller: No idea
- SteveAnswered call, no one spoke so hung up!
- IANFrequent calls received from this ident.
The value of this type of call is that it tests the reliabity of your answering machine enabling you to return calls to bona fide callers with thinking-time under your belt. - JamesSaid "Hello", then a woman replied with "Hello". Then silence.
I promptly put the phone down. Creepy! - DougSaid something about our account then gave up.
- Caller: God knows
- RichardA regular caller over the past few days. 1471 gives the number but no messages left.
- MichelleI have this number call me up 3 times this morning. I don't answer it as I have an answer machine, so I guess that if it's a genuine call they'd leave a message.
- LisaI've had a call from this number today at 17:16. I'm with BT & subscribe to their "block calls" service, yet, this number doesn't register with the service?
I'll continue to let the phone ring now, if they can't leave a message, then I won't answer! - IreneI have had the following 3 numbers calling me,0800 9533008, 0800 9889546 & 0800 9533006. Again they have been calling daily for the last week. I have reported this to BT who checked if they was BT numbers, the very nice man said none of them are BT numbers. Appartently calling them back can charge you 4p a min !
Also if anyone from BT Calls you it is all logged on the system and they can tell you when they last tried to contact you.- Caller: BT Supposidly !
- Dave Pollardre 08009889546, called twice today. I`d like to know who and what they are but I`m not giving them the satisfaction of answering!!
- philbeen plagued by this number and have resisted answering, but eventually curiousity overcame, so picked it up but did not say anything, heard a voise say hello three times then hang up, se how they like it, from the sound of the voise its some call centre drone trying to flog the usual crap, I really wish I could get my hands on one of them!!!!!!!!!!!
- caz08009889546 is deffo btbroadband, as my contract is nearly due to end, rang me asking me to renew.Called again using 0800 9533008 asking the same question!!,..ringing several times a day so just ignore now.
- Caller: BT broadband
- StellaThis number has called me five times in the last week, but it disconnects as soon as the answering machine switches on. A bona fida caller would leave a message, so they've never get through, but it is certainly irritating - harassment I'd call it.
- Caller: No idea
- DomThey claim to represent BT but when challenged as to who they are working for say that it is confidential - definitely NOT BT Broadband then!
- Sean DelaneyBit of a mystery. It's definitely hosted by Opal Telecom not BT, (as a previous writer has noticed) and searching through Google suggests that it may be coming from Direct Dialogue. No proof of this, but it certainly fits. Direct Dialogue have a habit of trying to disguise who they really are, as Dom has noted. If it is Direct Dialogue, they claim to raise money for charities and so they consider themselves to be exempt from the Telephone Preference Service, because they are not selling. If only they would say a bit more than "hello" we might have a better idea of who they are.
- Caller: Possibly Direct Dialogue
