I've been received loads of calls from 0800 9889546 over the past week, but have not answered.  In the phone book, there's a "choose to refuse" freephone number to ring, to block certain numbers calling you.   GGrrr, just rang it, and no one answered!   lol

These people are seriously irritating me now, fortunately I live in Glasgow and work in Edinburgh, so by the time i get home i've missed their calls. Still a pain having to check an answerphone message that doesn't exist and doing 1471 to see who it was.

However, there was an automated message left last night, well, half of one giving instructions to do to stop receiving marketing calls. Unfortunately it was the last half of the message so i dont know how to commence a call to stop them.....

Any ideas???

Look guys if you are the sort of person that doesnt care then tell them to F*** Off, they then complain to thier manager and your number gets blacklisted on thier list as abusive, i bet they won't phone again.

I have signed up for TPS and it has not made a shred of difference. Just got home today to another two missed calls. This is just ridiculous why can't they leave people alone! I know that when my broadband contract is up for re-newal i will be stopping both the broadband and the phone as it's an over priced slow connection with no end of hassle if you require assistance e.g. overseas call centres. I will just use my mobile free minutes when I need to call out.

I get called three times an evening from this number. They claim to be calling "on behalf of BT", but they admitted that the name of the company was "CCA International".

I've had about half a dozen from this number. I rang back to be thanked for ringing BT but as their shut i should ring back the following monday. I have a sneaky idea it's BT trying to get me to renew my Broadband. Whatever the reason for the call, the automated robot started by saying "thank you for ringing the BT offices."

I have emailed BT Broadband via the BT website (btbroadband@bt.com) and I have now received an email of apology and they said they will stop calling, but for some reason, it might take a month for this to work. The numbers I had calling were 08009889546, 08009533008, 006,002 etc and they all belong to BT broadband.

Try ringing it through SKYPE - where your caller ID is totally misrepresented!

Calling it back at 18:22 on a Tuesday eve gets : "Thank you for calling BT - Our office is closed... etc..."

BT BT BT BT! My broadband is up for renewal - they want us to sign a new contract (I wont as it's so slow)



That's the end of that!

Ive had numerous calls from the mentioned numbers over the last few weeks, but never been in to answer them, until today.

Guy i spoke to was from BT Broadband and offered to reduce my monthly bill by £2, to the amount im currently paying (or so i thought!) but they have also increased my download limit per month to 10gb.  Thought it was pretty reasonable and not had any real complaints with the service so have renewed it.

Same here. Lots of silent calls recently. The number 08009889564 when called says "Thank you for calling BT", but it is CCA International in disguise.

I finally had a person on the phone when they called today and ended up talking to a director of CCA in London. They promise to take anyone of their list which applies to all companies who contract them to carry out "marketing" for them. Try 02078145212 if you want to complain.

All spam call companies like this should be burned to the ground.

I get this number regulaly. I have become somewhat immune to them as i now do not answer ANY numbers that are 08, 09, withheld or unidentified.

I've had this number calling quite a lot - they say they are from BT Broadband. As our bills are in my husband's name, they generally won't talk to me anyway, and just ask when he will be in.

I have received several calls from three different 0800 numbers.  I tried registering my number with
the Silent Call Guard.  But this keeps saying invalid number when I enter mine and then puts me through
to a messaging system which wants my name, address and email.  Is this normal - sounds suspicious to me?

This number is for the "Silent Call Guard" which is additional to the TPS (because it's too bloody simple to have just one list!).

Have been getting calls day and nite from different 0800 numbers in recent weeks and this one, a trick i have learnt is to pick up then put the phone down, which i did the other day because they were getting on my nerves, have received no calls since!  am on TPS as well so no idea why am getting these calls!

Caller knew my name, and offered a reduction in my broadband price of about £1.80 if I would commit to remaining with BT Broadband for a further 12 months. In my case, this did not appear to be a spam call.

Phil - I do exactly the same thing - I answer but don't speak, they hang up after 3 "hello"s but unfortunatly it doesn't stop them from phoning 3 times a day :-(

Just had yet another call from this number but unlike the usual silent treatment this time it was a guy who sounded stoned/drunk saying something like 'You wanna talk?' several times followed by manic laughter and then a hang-up.  If this is BT by proxy then they're in serious trouble re: customer satisfaction.
