This number IS CCA International - see below for who they are and how to contact them. I did and quote part of their response. I'll wait and see whether it works...
I would suggest anyone having problems with them contacts BT, TPS and looks at the TPS and ICO website. Above all keep the email you send telling them not to contact you. I cannot get BT to admit they use CCA International. Phone calls to BT are a waste of time (on hold and passed around for an hour) and they don't reply to emails. Like John M I've been a BT customer for many years but this seems to count for 0 so like him I'm going elsewhere.

This is what Carol Rogerson of CCA International said:
'... as soon as I  received your email instructions were made to ensure you have been removed from all calling databases.'

'CCA International UK Ltd (is) part of CCA International group ... a serious and professional contact centre'

'Since 2004 CCA International has provided contact centre outsourcing solution for BT of which one of the activities we do on behalf of BT is to contact their existing customers to keep you up to date on the latest and best offers available to you as a BT customer. This activity is based on the fact that you are an existing BT customer therefore by-passes the TPS process.CCA International is a paying subscriber to the TPS service.'

'We welcome customer feedback either positive or negative and always take this seriously resulting in positive actions for our company.'

What positive feedback can CCA International expect except a thank you for not making our lives a misery anymore. The negative feedback they receive would be `get me off your list!' Typical corporate robot-speak. They are electronic hawkers. Remember when people had little plates on their doors saying: `No Hawkers.' What a humiliating miserable job some people have! I still think some brilliant lawyer out there can sort this out.

Might be worth calling BT Operator service and requesting that your line records be changeed to show "No Sales Calls - inclding BT".      Worked for me.

    In light of the way that BT have (NOT) handled my complaint I have now switched providers as I said I would in my last posting. I would urge anyone else in a similar position to do the same. I will still be pursuing my complaint as a matter of principle. The BT office to do this is at;
    BT Plc
    Correspondence Centre
    Durham
    DH98 1BT
....... but don't hold your breath!

I can't believe they are still pushing this number considering the complaints.
Come on you lawyers do something, or a constant change of provider.

Have had a call from this and they claimed to be BT offering me a "Loyalty bonus".  When I phoned BT (0800800150) and spoke to them, they confirmed it is them calling, but that the TPS has two levels of call blocking, calls from BT and calls from everyone else, and you haveto specifically ask for BT to be blocked

I never give details or information to anyone who has called me and find it irritating when they ring and ask questions.  The woman said she was calling on behalf of BT and it was regarding Broadband.  I said put it in writing,(not giving my address cos they should know who I am if they rang me!) but she wittered on trying to do a sales pitch. I said I aint interested and have no intentions of changing a thing and hung up.

Have received several calls from this number, at least twice a day – It only rings about 4 times which isn’t long enough to get to the phone. I called BT today, and they said it definitely wasn’t them. They advised me to NOT call back as even though its an 0800 number, if you have to press buttons you may be charged. Also if you answer or call back, it will let them know that you have a live line and your number may then be passed to other unscrupulous parties (a bit like responding to spam emails). I was told the only option is to change my phone number which seems a bit drastic! I was given the number of the Nuisance Call Bureau who may have more information; they are only open weekdays (today is Saturday) so shall try them on Monday. The number is 0800 411 422. Hope this helps.

Sorry Kat_K, that "I called BT today ......... wasn’t them. They advised me to NOT call back as even though its an 0800 number, if you have to press buttons you may be charged" part of your post is nonsense.  An outgoing call cannot change from a freephone call to a charged-for call midway.
Similarly, the only type of incomng call which can cost you money is a reverse charge call (and those you have to verbally accept of press a specific key to confirm you accept the charges).

I've just had a call from this crowd... and it was a bizarre phone call.  BT have screwed up my name - and, for some reason, reverted it back to the wrong name for my last bill... which has already led to significantly many phone calls to customer service to try to correct it.  This number called me - and they told me they they were calling "on behalf of BT".  I went ballistic, telling them that they'd got my name wrong - and demanded to talk to supervisors - etc.

I spoke to "Catherine" who refused to give a surname (which made me suspicious) and then to "Ahid" (apologies if I spelt that wrong...)  I talked about the Data Protection act and how they had to correct details held in their computer system - and telling me to "call 150" wasn't adequate.  Catherine, at first, seemed adamant that I couldn't prosecute her.... and I explained that I was merely making my case against BT - since I needed my details corrected.  The supervisor told me that they were actually a company called "CCA International" (which, when you Google it, looks like a Golf club in Hong Kong - all be it, with a UK contact address too.)

I called BT - and, because they don't have a "You useless prats, you've got my name wrong AGAIN!" option on their automated system - I decided to report the nuisance call first... not because it was most important - but because, that way, I might get to speak to someone rather than be rattled around foreign call centres repeating my name over and over and over.  BT seemed to be interested - but we will see, I suppose.  What's significant, I think, is that the name I was called by this nuisance caller was the same one that's wrong on my latest (but not previous) BT bills.  This pretty-much proves that the source of my phone number and contact details was BT itself - even though (as far as I'm aware) I'm on the TPS list as wanting no sales calls.

08009888546 has been calling non-stop all day, and it's Sunday. I haven't answered the phone. Seeing previous comments about CCA International, I found this on reed.co.uk's site:

CCA International successfully operates 18 call centers in 6 countries and employs 2,500 people. CCA International UK urgently requires enthusiastic and professional Sales Agents for their global communications client.
