- LizzieM replies to Joe90| 3 repliesIs this information about them something we can use in our fight Joe? Good idea about giving details to our MPs. I sent an email to mine on 22nd September, but haven't heard anything back. However, you can tell your MP that my MP is Gerry Sutcliffe, (Bradford South). What amazing letters on the Martin Lewis site - wish I'd found them before - particularly the one about threatened doorstep visits! I'll be using these if I don't get anywhere with the Financial Ombudsman's current involvement.
After all this is over, do you think we could sue them for emotional damages?? - Nan replies to LizzieMHaving been scammed in the past by Sattelite Direct (the bank repaid me) and had various calls from other bogus companies, I find this thread fantastic. Congratulations to all of you for the fight you are putting up. They obviously gtried to scam the wrong bunch. More power to your elbow!
- FritzHi all.
Phew, confusing or what! So much information from you all. Nothing productive to add, only to say what a brilliant bunch of people. Check this site every day as a kind of lifeline.Checking out all various sites you have recommended anticipating my next move.Still in the fight with you. Stay safe.
P.s. Could i urge people who have not written in yet to do so if only to see how mighty we really are.- Caller: Satlite
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Joe90 replies to LizzieM| 1 replyHi Lizzie.
Yea i reckon so and a lot more besides. And yes we can use the info in our fight. Thanks for your MPs name Lizzie, my MPs name is Simon Hart,(Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire) i figure that if we all contact our respective MPs, and give them our details to help get us together the effect will be twofold. 1 it gets us together to fight as an action group, and 2 it allows the MPs themselves to join together to help the fight to stamp out the terrible exploitation of the decent hard working people of our fair land by these lying, stinking low life maggots, who are too frightened to get a real job but would rather use lies, threats and deciet to sponge a living out of the innocent.
I will ask Simon to pass on my name and number to Gerry for you and if we all could do the same this will be the start of a REAL FIGHT BACK.
Cheers Lizzie, Cheers All, Joe. - LizzieM replies to Joe90OK Joe - just sent off another email to Gerry and asked him to get in touch with Simon Hart. I finished by saying that its more than just getting them off my back now - its making sure they don't get on anybody else's, and I really mean that!! Going to bed now - I'm worn out with all this emotional energy!
Night everyone. Lizzie - Martin| 2 repliesHi all
If Capital Credit are sending out all these crap letters of a threatening nature when there is no legal debt are CC not committing harrasment can we not put in a counter claim claiming damages for all the registered letters and mental turmoil, maybe we can take CC to Maidstone Court- Caller: Martin
- Call type: Telemarketer
- LizzieM replies to Martin| 1 replyHi Martin
I say lets get Satlite sorted out first, then, if necessary, deal with CC, otherwise the whole thing could get messy. Chances are if we stay focussed and together, we have more chance of beating them!
Katy, are you still with us? Missing your posts!
Lizzie - LizzieM| 2 repliesPost has just arrivedand with it a letter from "The Advertising Protection Agency" thanking me for instructing them to act on my behalf to stop unsolicited calls from telemarketeers. They have enclosed an invoice for £69.85 and apparently I can only pay by credit or debit card. I have never heard of this company, and know without a doubt that I have never contacted them, nor answered any phone calls from them. I'm wondering if all the business with Satlite has been leading towards this - is this the biggest scam of all??? Off to phone Action Fraud........
- Katy replies to LizzieMHi Lizzie, Hi Joe and everyone!
I'm sorry I've been neglecting you all - been another hectic weekend but have no intention of neglecting our fight!
Joe I think that's a brilliant idea to ask our MP's to pass on our details - I'm just about to email mine again now, she's Maria Eagle, (Garston and Halewood constituency), I'll leave my mobile number and email address with her office and hopefully we'll all actually be speaking soon. After which I'm back on to the Financial Ombudsman.
We must be a fairly sizeable group by now - my bank seemed to be well aware of these people, I just wish the Fraud Squad would call then I would feel as if we were really getting somewhere.
I think we will though, can't see any of us giving up on this - how very dare they!!!
It may take a while, but I can't wait for the day when we all stand on the steps of whichever court having our group photo taken, having won our case.
Welcome to anyone who's just arrived at the Support Thread (sounds like a pair of tights!!) - and to those who are just looking- for moral support, join in if you can, you're def not on your own.
Speak soon - hopefully literally! - Katy replies to LizzieM| 1 replyWhat the hell is that???
They must have passed our details to all and sundry!!!
I'll mention this developement to my MP.
Good luck Lizzie. - LizzieM replies to KatyHi Katy - glad you're still out there!
Right folks - beware, particularly if you are acting on behalf of elderly or vulnerable people!! Action Fraud seems to think this is another scam company. Put yourself in the shoes of someone who's been scammed by Satlite - you get a seemingly genuine letter from a company offering to get rid of unsolicited calls for you, so you pay their invoice of £69.85, which incidentally, has to be paid either by debit or credit card(!!!) They send you a nice form where you enter all your personal details, including your bank card details and send it back off to them. When you look in their small print, what happens is that you report all unsolicited calls to them and they inform TPS!! The advice is - DO NOTHING. Don't write and argue - that means they've got your attention, and hopefully for them, your signature. I've been warned that I may get a few bullying phone calls and even doorstep visits, but do nothing except deny having contact with this company. Needless to say, my doors are all securely locked and will be having chains fitted!
I also had some interesting news from the guy at Action Fraud - they appear to have found a link between Satlite and Capital Credit (who are not licensed). They've had hundreds of complaints about them, and we should totally ignore anything else that comes from them, as they can never take a case to court! (Still scary when you get a threatening letter though, isn't it?)
Courage people - I'm going to contact Gerry again and give him your MPs details Katy. We'll probably turn into a Parliamentary Sub-committee!
By the way, is anybody else having problems getting on to this site/posting messages? Am I getting paranoid? - m| 1 replyGet in touch with Kent Trading Standards had a message on phone rang them to day and they have had so many complaints about Capital Credit Management they had a meeting with them last wednesday If you have sent a letter or complained that everything is going to be frozen as Capital Credit Management was going have a meeting with Satlite Ltd
If I get anymore letters I have to get in touch with Kent Trading Standards
I was a way on holiday last week so quite good news I hope - Katy| 2 repliesM - Good news at last - are things moving???
Lizzie - I've had real problems with this site today, I've been having real trouble trying to connect. The only thing I can suggest is we move to MoneySaving Expert if this shuts down - there's a thread on there that I found before this one.....'Satellite 4 U pretending to be Sky'. I've posted on there as Florence22 - at least we can still keep in touch with each other! I've looked in to The Advertising Protection Agency - that site is legal and it seems you need to pay about £70.00 for their services (as if we could afford that after all this). Perhaps one of the agencies we've contacted put them on to you and hopefully you won't have to stand behind your door with a baseball bat after all.

My email has gone to Maria Eagle - here's hoping they can put us in touch with each other soon. - Katy replies to mHi M,
I've just contacted Kent Trading Standards - they'll probably lynch me for contacting them directly but I wanted to add to their evidence - Cap Cred Man rebilled my Mum after she'd paid them, dating the letter in advance of sending and acting so charmingly as per usual when I called them to give them a mouthful.
I really hope things will pick up speed soon. - Nan replies to KatyDon;t worry folks. I. too, have had problems with slow connections today, not just on this site. Must be the weather!!! Keep at it all of you. What a hornet's nest you have stirred up.
- LizzieM replies to KatyHi Katy
All I can say is be careful if this company contact you. I called TPS and they are an associate licensee, which means nothing except to say that they abide by the codes of practice, but they can put the TPS logo on their website. The woman did say that they don't directly have anythingto do with TPS, but if you are searching for this kind of business on a search engine, their name comes up first alphabetically, and people think they are the TPS. What worries me is that the letter I had from them starts....."thank you for instructing The Advertising Protection Agency..." when in fact I have not - I've never heard of them. I registered with the TPS in 2006, so why would I want to register with another company? Neither can I imagine any of the agencies we've been dealing with - Action Fraud, Consumer Direct, passing on our details to a company without asking our express permission first. I'm going to do a bit more digging, but I'm not trusting anyone at the moment! Found you on the other forum - have registered myself as LizaM - they already have a lizzieM! - LizzieM| 3 repliesKaty - go onto the MSE website or google "The Advertising Protection Agency or TAPA - It is a Scam" Read all the posts there - I've just finished adding my bit.....and I'm not putting the baseball bat away just yet!
- Katy replies to LizzieM| 2 repliesHi Lizzie- and thanks - who'd have thought I'd still be gullible after all this!! I'll keep a watch on my Mum's post!
Ha ha - look what I found (I'm scouring google!!)
http://sat-lite.co.uk/images/SatliteWSA.pdf
More rare than a cheque from SatLite!!
(I'll look up that MSE thread now - thanks again Lizzie, I must be half asleep today!) - Katy replies to Katy| 1 replyOMG Lizzie - I really should've looked closer at TAPA - PLEASE everyone watch your mail for communication from these scammers - have a look at the MSE forum like Lizzie suggests. and report to Action Fraud the moment you receive anything from them.
This is just going on and on....
Hi Nan, I think this is now a nest of giant killer bees from darkest Mexico! Keep cheering us up with your support if you have time - every little helps!
Be aware people, we have enough to be going on with without this mob, think I might suggest Quentin Tarantino buys the story rights off us for his next movie - LizzieM replies to KatyI am SO glad you have read those posts. I don't know how it links in with the other companies, but I'm sure it does. I just worry about people like your mum Katy, thinking she has a contract if they say so and giving them her details. You know if we "win" and get told we won't be bothered again, and the companies no longer contact us, I don't feel like leaving it there any more. I want my MP (who still hasn't replied to my emails) and Action Fraud and the others to take this further and prosecute the people involved. If they have to spend a little time in jail, they might think before doing this again. I'm good and mad....and still scared!!
