Abster has been ignoring the calls from TAPA, which have been dwindling down-he or she has only received two of them since your last comment from unidentified sources. Everyone is cheering Abster on.

Sorry to read about your cancer. What a tough thing to go through. You have my sympathy. I hope you'll come out of this okay.

Thank you, ThinkAboutit (my that's a mouthful!) and Nan. Really appreciate your kind thoughts. I have a lot of people fighting for me - and I seem to have found some strength from somewhere. I am a fighter. I wish Abster luck - seems to be doing all the right things!

Good on you, girl. Keep fighting, we are thinking of you.  There is a post on the other site from Elroonio (last post 6.12).  He has not heard from THEM since they threatened him with court in November.  Looks like another success.  Fingers crossed.

I have just made the transition to this site! So many similarities between all these scammers and my personal scammers. It is cold comfort though. My heady days of only two calls a day have been replaced by about six or more. Am still not replying and have no intention of doing so. It is frustrating, though, that they seem to be getting away with such Bad Behaviour. How very dare they? Will keep you posted.

I think I may have been mistaken - I assumed ALL the scammy missed calls were TAPA or the publishing scam I fell for initially, but after posting this last night, I thought I'd better check the numbers properly. I know I should have done this in the first place. You'd think I'd have learned by now not to assume anything. However... I now realise that some of the calls might be from another disreputable company - or perhaps the same one in disguise? (harassment-by-confusion) - so TAPA, for now, have not been so noisy. Its someone else...possibly. I've set my phone to quack like a duck if any call comes through thats not on my contact list, hence my not checking properly and over enthusiastically ignoring all ducks. Apols for being such a duck myself. And thank you all again for helping me through this.

Oh Abster, you have cheered me up!! I now have silly images in my head of Chris Irvine qucking like a duck!!!! Listen - you are not in the wrong here! You are a normal decent person, like most of us I hope, who is waking up to the fact that there are some people out there totally without conscience or any moral sense, who have decided to make mugs of some of us. I'd rather be you or me than one of them! They probably didn't expect anybody to fight back, so I'm pleased they haven't had it all their own way, but just think of the poor people - probably elderly - who don't realise they can get help - its them I feel sorry for. Keep it up - you're keeping me going!!

There is an upheld complaint about TAPA on the Advertising Standards Authority website, dated today.
Its in the Adjudications bit.
Although they can't do anything about the underhand tactics used after TAPA 'get' your details, its at least something. (Assuming that they do make the payments section on their website clearer and not just move it around).
Someone still continues to phone / quack me a few times daily and I still don't answer. Their persistence is astonishing.
