Also completed phone survey and received follow up call following day  from Hannah on 0844670460 offering £20 fuel vouchers. Requesting £1 FOR P&P to receive copy of Saphire magazine which she said contained money off vouchers which more than covers the subscription cost of £79.99 which could be cancelled within 14 days. Was also asked what my favourite colour was and how my first name was spelt. I wouldn't give my card details and said I wasn't interested and hung up.

I too had a call about a survey - dont usually do them but a nice welsh girl spoke to me i also had a cold so was feeling down anyway could not get rid of them so did survey then some one called again to say they would give me a thank you for the survey etc. said i could get a garderners world mag for free only to pay 1.00 for postage if i wanted the years sub would cost m79.99 said no but then caught by the 14 day trail offer thought  good i can cancel - did not get gardeners world but a silly advert mag of no interest so wanted to cancel too late they have taken the money got the mag with letter dated 31st july money gone 1st. august it is a scam i have contacted trading standards in cardiff next step the cardiff police cannot afford to lose this money but seeing the other remarks on this site think it is terrible that people use illness i have had cancer 5 years ago and have beaten it i hope but this is just so aweful i will never give to anything over the phone again also would like to know if anyone has been called by we fight any claim as they rang me after this survey and they all speak with welsh voices and i am very suspect of them now  - they wanted to do a claim for ppi think it is all a scam now - do not feel bad about falling for this as you and i are the good ones as we have not seen the bad the callers are the baddies and they should and will reap what they sow. what goes round comes round as the pagans say .

This firm called me at 18.00 on 05/08/13,
when I answered they had gone I looked up the number on google and it appears to be a scam.

Just a quick question regarding MGI and their freephone number 08006696480. If people call this number out of  office hours are the scammers charged?

I tried to e-mail this firm but like all other callers is rubbish.They took £1.00 to
cover postage for a recipe book etc.I thought they said £17.99.Until i got the
letter stating it was £79.99.!This is appalling way to extort money for charity.
I have taken steps with my bank to investigate this SCAM!!!!

fell for this scam,I cancelled by phone,told no money would be taken out of my account,but £79 99 was. phoned again spoke to a Morgan Powel who appologised said he would speak to finance and get it refunded .Still waiting.Reported to my bank and consumer advise.

Today I got a phone call at about 2pm from this sapphire so called company saying they will send me a fuel
voucher for 20 pounds me like an idiot gave my card details , after I put the phone down I thought about it
so I phoned the number back guess what answer phone. so I decided 2put the name of this so called Sapphire magazine into google and found all these comments. Luckily they carnt take the £ yet because there isn't any money in my account, So I will be down to My bank in the morning to cancel my Card.

I did  the same i sent 2 messages and a recorded delivery letter but they still took the 79.99 out of my bank i also rang my bank before the fourteen day were up and asked for a block to be put on my card they refused and said they had to take the money first yeaterday i rang my bank and they gave me this phone no 0844.5671020 i rang it and got straight though after days  give the number a go and see how you get on i am still trying to get my money back the man i spoke to said if i can send him an e/mail with prove that i did send the messages he would go to the accounts and get my money back i am in the prosess of doing good luck

ihave been on to the trading standards and filled out a form its easy to do maybe if everyone who has been scammed  we may be able to get our money back .

I got the same call from Sapphire,petrol voucher for £1,Then thought about it,tried to cancel,by phone and e-mail.Do not fall for this it is a scam you can not  cancel at all.I called my bank,they have blocked this company.

I had a call from Kieron who gave his number as 0843 5070707 Ext 1974
but when I did a 1471 the number called from was 08445670460.

Is there something suspicious?

Suggest you read the other 152 posts on here and decide for yourself.

I was a little dubious after reading some of these comment, but I got straight through on the 08435 070707. If you are wary I suggest contacting them to get a definitive answer.

I received identical call as yourself today. She asked me to read the magazine and then give them feedback. But luckily I never did.  Can see how people get taken in as they are very convincing. I think it might have been 'Sophie' as she called herself. She had been calling my house for weeks.

  Yesterday I was telling my daughter what Id done she went straight on her computer to check it out thankfully She put a block on my card and told me never to give money over the phone  or card details It was the £1 and the £20 voucher that didn't ring true for her  the caller gave me the phone  number to contact them if I needed this was different to the one on my phone log

HI all, my mum got caught with this one on 08/08/13. she unfortunately gave her card details to them  and has paid £1.00 she did receive the welcome pack and shortly they will try and get the £79, this was mis sold to a 74 year old lady who would have no use for the offers available. as you are aware this is a money making scam and I'm sure they didn't ask my mum if she would use their services before selling it. we have had to block payment through our bank as the phone 08435070707 and cancel@moneysapphire.com either don't exist or have nobody to  answer them.

received a call from this company Sapphire magazine, wanting £1 trial offer for subscription magazine £79.99 per year. decided not to take advantage after reading the comments here

They tried to hit me today but I did not give them the credit card number.
I reported it to ActionFraud, a government organisation, on 0300 123 2040 .
I was able to remember the name of the people making the survey, which was
National Money Savers.

Of course I am not a true victim.
Anybody is, why not report it to ActionFraud and they can get it stopped?
