no response when I pick up

I have called this number back on a different line and all it says is 'You have been contacted by a tele marketing company' then hangs up.

Very annoying as it's been happening for the last 2 weeks and all i want to do is tell them where to go

Just had a call from 08451 309405 But no response when I picked up.
Obviously trying to get me to call them but I wont.
Avoid !!

as above. no one at other end. 2/3 times per day!

Got called from this number (on our home phone) and they actually spoke!  The person on the other end of the line said it was Financial (something) Services and then asked to speak to my wife.  I asked them "what is this call about?" and they said it was a courtesy call!!!!  Don't you just love that?  Courtesy call my a**e!  I then asked again and got told "due to the data protection act, I cannot tell you that information"

LOL - data protection act, the irony is superb!

Anyway, I hung up after some choice words, dialled 1471 and this number was there.  I phoned the number back and got a pre-recorded message saying I had been recently contacted by a telemarketing company and they will be in touch again soon.  As I am on the telephone preference service, this could get very interesting!

Hopefully the few bits of information I've given here will give some clues.

got another call from them, they were calling about my debenhams storecard- didn't even have to ask..but when i sed i wasn't interested in whatever it was cause i barely use the card they sed it would benefit me more coz i don't use it much and tried to tell me about it, so i sed i'm not interested so he would be wasting his time telling me about it,...whats the point in telling me about it after i sed i wasn't interested lol..not about to change my mind!

Also if i got asked at all about wanting info from other companies i would have sed no- so they didnt listen!

Ah!  So it looks like this financial (whatever) services company are the creditors, the ones who profit from all the people who innocently signed up for such a card.  Will do a bit more research (I will ring Debenhams and pretend to be interested in getting such a card) and then report back on what I have found.

By the way, we can get our revenge by getting a refund on the card.  Take a look at the following link:

I persistently get calls from this number but ignore them, with good reason judging from what people are saying.

I have had calls from this number every day for the past 3 weeks and it is really annoying me now. I have registered my mobile number with TPS so I am hoping the calls will stop eventually. As with other people whenever I answer, the phone goes dead and when I try to ring back it says i was called by a marketing company and to press 1 if you would prefer this not to happen - not sure if I should do that - has anyone tried this and have they stopped calling?  Thanks

Recieved another call tonight from the same number.
And have just been reading all of the above comments.
I never give out my home number to anyone, accept I opened a Debenhams account last December and they insisted that I gave them my home number.
Obviously there seems to be a link.

I RECEIVE A CALL EVERY DAY FOR OVER 4 WEEKS AND NO ONE ANSWERES, AND IT IS SERIOUSLY ANNOYING!!!

Received a call today (my business number) asking for a ladie who is on maternity leave, asked when she would be back, told them Sept (IF!!) so they hung up!charming. Couldn't pronounce the name correctly either.

i got a call from this number twice on my mobile, yesterday i answered but the line went dead it happened just 2 mins ago as well the call went on voicemail but no message was left i will call my network and ask them if they could barr the no

Like others I'm getting pestered by these people despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Services (these callers just ignore this fact albeit if you say "you are registered", provided you can actually speak to someone, the line goes dead and hopefully they cross you off their list).

And yet another annoyed person after a week of calls.  One would hope they would find this counter-productive for whatever they are telemarketting and give up. Done as Bill suggests above and complained via http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/

regular calls from this number, starting to annoy me.

The 0845 numbers have been calling me for 2 weeks now, in the day time. They never leave a message. I've only been called once in the evening and they hung up. However, since that happened I've now got the 01709 number ringing!!
I too signed up for a Miss Selfridge card (same group as Dorothy Perkins and  Burton), think this must be who's given the number out. Reeeeally irritating.
Will be complaining to ofcom too.

After calling me several times I finally blocked their number.

So now they're calling me from 01709842899 too!! What a joke.

I've missed two calls from this number today - they've just called, but I didn't make it to the phone in time. Shame, seeing as I'm also with the TPS. However, I don't have any storecards, so I'm not sure about the link.
