I HAVE RECEIVED 5 CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER - NO MESSAGE IS LEFT.  I TOO AM ON THE PREFERENTIAL SERVICE - THAT DOESNT WORK EITHER!!

Call came for my wife and claimed to be from "Financial Insurance and Insurance Services" a company with which whom she has never had any dealings so they must have got them off of a mailing list. I told them that as we are unlisted and on the TPS that they were commiting an offence and that if I received further calls they would be reported

After being called for the past two weeks or so  a number of times per day the person actually spoke on the other end - started asking me about my BHS store credit card, clearly bogus calling - hopefully no they have got through once they'll stop calling!!!!

I am sick to death of this number calling me, argh, does anyone know what they actually want?!

Call answered and woman at the other end - sounds of office in background - googled the number and saw this!

I have an answermachine and caller ID on my phone display, nearly everyday I get a number witheld call, and then, immediately, a call from this number.  Today I answered the phone, and the line went dead.

Any telemarketing company wanting to speak to me will need loads of patience, as I tend to screen my calls via listening to my answering machine.  
Must cost them a packet!

This number has called us eight times in three days, an they must be using multiple dialling as there has been no-one there whenever the phone has been answered.

I have received 5 phone calls from this phone number in the last week, usually calling at the same time (around 4 or 5pm). Luckily I have not been around to answer them but they have left no message on my voicemail. After reading all the comments below I don't think I will! I am also ex-directory and on the Telephone Preference List so they should not be cold calling me.

I am pretty much like everyone else on here keep getting calls in the middle of the afternoon when I am at work.  Its been going on for weeks. I'm also ex directory and registered with TPS so..... whats going on????

Said they were from Asda credit card (and I do have one) trying to sell the insurance that would pay off your balance if you became ill etc.

I have been called by this number almost every day for the last week and the line has been dead every time (as most most people here have reported). Hopefully they won't be bothering me again now!

My first known call from this number was at 2 o.clock at night!! Have had a couple since.  I have no store cards....

GETTING CALLED ABOUT 20 TIMES A DAY FROM THIS NUMBER FOR THE LAST WEEK OR SO. I PICK IT UP AND THE PHONE GOES DEAD. GETTING REALLY FED UP WITH THIS SO NOW THE NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS AND THE PERSON ON THE OTHER SIDE IS SILENT THEY WILL END UP WITH VERY SORE EARS BECAUSE I CAN TELL YOU,I WILL HAVE MY WHISTLE TO HAND AND GIVE THEM A BLAST THEY WON'T FORGET.

just had one myself same as what the other comments state,answered phone - call hung up.

I've had a call from this number a few times and am fed up with answering the phone to find on one there.  Can anything be done to stop them?

I have been receiving calls from this number on my mobile every day for the past week...... VERY annoying.  No message left.  I jsut phoned it back from a landline and it was a message saying that I had recently been called regarding some products and services that may be of interest to me.  I will be called again in the future...... I certainly hope not!

WHO IS THIS?!!?!?

I have had several missed calls from this mobile during the past week and I assumed that it was a company I was expecting a call from who later called me at work, but when I called the mysterious number I got a prerecorded message that said that it was a "telemarketing company who may have products that would interest me and they may call me in the future". I hope they don't!

The caller is GE Finance.  They have got your name from one of these firms:

BHS Capital Bank
Asda
B & Q
Burton
Debenhams
Dorothy Perkins
House of Fraser
Mothercare
Selfridges
Topman
Topshop
They should not be passing personal data around like this, but when you dealt with them, in the small print, there was a box that you should have ticked to stop them transferring your data.  If you do not tick the box, the company you dealt with passes it to GE Finance and they pass it to all the others.  GE Finance is the backing company behind all of those store cards.

GE Finance is also the backer of Card Protection Plan. It has links (not quite sure what links) with something called Genworth, (www.genworth.co.uk)  which deals in Mortgage Insurance and Payment Insurance, obviously to guarantee those cards.  This, in turn, is tied in with another company named Affinion. There are so many layers of companies here that it is going to be very diffcult to stop these people making these unsolicited calls. As far as the TPS is concerned, GE Finance ignores it. They would probably say that, by not ticking that box, you have given them permission to call you.
