    We've been getting these calls on our landline every day for the last few days (including Saturday) - always around 12.30 pm. - and when I pick the phone up they hang up.  Very annoying!  My partner has a Debenhams storecard but she took it out ages ago so I don't know whether there is any connection.  We're registered with TPS so shouldn't be getting these calls anyway.  I went to the TPS website complaints section but it says they can't do anything about 'silent' calls.  It mentions the 'silent callgard' service, which is an 0870 number so I didn't want to ring that, but a bit of googling found their website http://www.ukdatait.co.uk/silent.htm, which contains the link http://www.silentguard.co.uk/, which you can use to register your number with them for free.  I've done this so will see what happens.

    These idiots have been calling me DAILY for about a month now. No answer if I let it go through to Answerphone, and if I answer it I either get the "busy office" type noise, or it just goes dead. When I called it back I got a tone like a fax machine.

    Next time I'm thinking of using a technique recommended by an old lady who was having dirty phone calls - I'm going to get a very loud football referee's whistle and blow it REALLY loud down the phone when I answer.

    Getting calls from this number. Sort it out. Some reference to Debenhams whom I have just got a credit card from. Because of this I am going to cancel my card with them and will no longer shop with at this store.

    I think this is the financial services arm of Debenhams. They keep making silent calls and then ringing back later. If you go into your credit card account, check that you have opted out of telephone marketing. I have now done so, and will see what happens.
