I have had constant calls from this number since last week. No voice mails are left and if I answer the line goes dead. I am thinking of buying a very piercing & loud whistle...........Perhaps we all should?

Received a phone call from them today,about 10 minutes ago, they asked to speak to my mother (Giving me her name) and claimed to be from CPP "Child protection plan"

These clowns phoned me just now, so I googled their number and am very glad to see I was right in my first assumption - that they were a total waste of time.

Its been everyday for a week in the daytime. Am not picking up now i know its dodgy!

When I return the call I get a recorede message telling me I have been called by a sales department

I get a call from this number and the 01709......someone mentioned, every day for about two weeks, I've never answered it and if they don't leave a message then it can't be important. I took out a Dorothy Perkins store cardd about two months ago, again, just for the 25% off on the day, never used it since. I'm with T-Mobile. Just as a matter of interest to others........

I keep on receiving phone calls from this number but nobody seems to be talking on the other end. 08451309405.  I recently joined on Homebase card so I suspect they must have given the details to somebody a bit unscrupulous.  Hopefully soon my network provider will let me know who it is that is calling.  In the mean time, to avoid being annoyed, you can do the following:
1) in your phone, under contacts, create a new group, called (for example) "Wasters"
2) Put this number 08451309405 in the group Wasters
3) Assign a silent ringing tone to the group

If you have a new phone, you can assign silent ringing tone directly to the phone number.

Received a call only a few minutes ago and when i answered the line went dead...... bloody annoying!!!!!

some financial institution - cheeky ignorant woman who would not discuss what the call was about, hung up on her = dialled 1471 for number

Ive been having calls from this number too.reading all the posts it sounds to me like the storecard companies are selling our info.I hold a burtons storecard and have done for only a couple of months.Also i am am x directory!!

Will calling Burtons to find out whats going on!

This number has been calling me for nearly 2 weeks.
When I answer it goes dead, so I no longer answer.

I've been getting the same calls and again no answer. Also a 01709 842899 (Rotherham code). Is all a bit strange. They call my mobile too claiming to be (garbled message) finance company and giving me a customer reference to quote. I spoke to a man with a Birmingham accent once and told him to stop calling me. Guess what, the very next he called me again...I am so fed up with it all.

Also been called by 08451309405 at 11:00 on a daily basis. Took a Burton store card out in August too. Hmmmm.

As with the other comments above this number has called several times today and hangs up whenever the phone is answered - I too am ex-directory!

Answered the call today. It was from Burton group asking me if I wanted additional features added to my account.

Yep, lots of calls, and from 01709842899 now!! Have been pestered at least twice a day for a month. Think it is to do with me having signed up for a Store card, GE Capital, House of Fraiser! Not impressed my number was sold to them!!!

Like the previous correspondents I had "THE CALL" at about 12.30 this afternoon, Blah Blah Blah Financial Services, asking for my wife by name. I enquired what it was in connection with and got the usual we cannot discuss the matter with you Blah Blah Blah, I advised that they should call my wife on her cell phone if they had her details otherwise they would have to wait until hell froze over until I passed on the message. I am fed up with these calls which we seem to get three times a week at least.
I think that the next time I get "The Call" I will make out I am my wife and give them some verbal!!

Just had this number called me now. Just heard a few seconds of background office noise, then I hung up. This isn't the first time this number has called me. Very annoying.
