Calls from 08451309405. I have no idea who this caller is, but I have received calls from them almost daily for approx 2 weeks.  They leave no message on my voicemail and do not speak if I answer.  Very annoying

Much like the above.  Only had one call, but hung up as soon as I answered.  Called back.  The voicemail claims to be a telemarketing company and apparently if you press "1", you'll be excluded from future calls.

Since my number is ex-dir, and on the telephone preference service, they're breaking the rules by even calling me, so I wasn't about to trust what the message said would happen if I pressed "1".

I just had a call from them at 1700 today 14 November 2007 - said they were something like "xxx Financial Services" and asked for me by name - so they obviously had me on a database. When I queried from where they had obtained my unlisted number and why they were in breach of Telephone Preference Service, the phone went dead!

No voice was heard - I think this is another call by this company/person within the last 3 days

They've called me every few days about the same time, when I pick up the phone I can hear background noise of what sounds like a busy office but no one speaks directly to me.

Had a call from this number asking to speak to my wife, as she wasn't in I asked who was calling and it was Chris from Card Protection Plan.  I advised that my wife would be available tomorrow afternoon so he said he'd call at 4pm, when I said he'd have to call earlier he asked about 3pm, I suggested midday and he made a comment about missing out 2pm and 1pm.  At this point I called him a smart [***] and asked who he thought he was talking to. He apologised but I asked for his supervisor and was then cut off.

Been receiving calls from this number this week, first one I answered, was told it was from someone from Card Protection Plan but I didnt have time to speak to them so I said I had to go.  Got other calls from this number but got nothing when I picked up.  Got a call a minute ago and they said they were calling about Identity theft and were offering a service to assist in the eventuality of this occurring.  They said they called me because I recently took out a store card with a high street clothing chain which is true.  Now I'm wondering whether or not the credit company the card is with have passed on my details, or the store, or is it just something dodgy, and if so, how do they know about my store card????  I told the girl I wasn't interested.  Hopefully this is the last I will hear from them.

Received a call from this number - could hear an office in background but nobody spoke to me - just cut off straight away. Think they're on an automated dialling thing where it dials a few numbers at once and then they speak to the one that answers first. Annoying!

I had same today. Various noises in background but no person to speak to. Then line went dead. I am also on Telephome Preference Service lit for no cold calls. Hmmm....

I have had calls from this and a different number for the past 3 weeks, everytime I answer or the call is taken by the answering machine the line goes dead, this is very anoying as my telephone number is ex-directory. does anyone who this company is and how and or where to report this.

Like everyone else, I get home from work and this number has called. No answer phone message left. just sounds like a busy office.

This is the same as 01709842899. They asked to speak to my wife (using her maiden name), saying they were sdme 'financial services insurance' company. I asked if she had dealt with them before, they said she had. I doubt it

I have been called twice by this number. first time Ipicked up there was no reponse, second time on 22/11/07  i ignored the call, no message was left, called back and was asked to press 1 to not be contacted again. I got a message that my details will be eleted within the next 48 hoours.

Had a call from this number today, rubbish.

Everyday they try in the middle of the afternoon when I'm unable to take call. Never leave a message. Been going on for 2-3 weeks now. If I'm around when they call, I'll tell whoever is on the line where to go (even if it's just a machine).

I was getting calls a least once a day - late afternoon for about 3 weeks, it stopped for a week and I just got another call. I havent answered as they never leave an actual message,  when it has gone to my voicemail , all there is is background noise - very frustrating!
I too took out a store card - as mentioned by someone above, so now wondering also, did the store pass on my details....

the same is happening with me. i havent answered the phone when the number comes up, but put this number into google, and found this site. seriously annoying!!

Had a call from this number at 5.30 this evening. A female voice said hello at the same time as me & then the line went dead. I'm also registered with the tps.

Literally happened to me 1 minute ago, was a call came on my mobile. Answered it and line went dead. will call my mobile provider (O2) and see if it can be blocked.

as far as i am aware my mobile is only with O2 and a burton storecard. Im stating this in the event that others have given details to one of these and we can find out who is giving our details away
