Is this Barclays calling? Called the number back and it says "your bank has called you we will call you back in a few days" < not very professional and I highly doubt that in fact this is my bank calling. Or else surely it would be Barclays not a line that doesn't recieve incomming calls.
Do not answer, highly suspiscious.

I have been getting several calls a day from this number 0845 300 4275. An ex-employee has gone into debt and this was their mobile when they worked for the company. I phoned Barclays Collections on 0845 300 1592 (you will have to give them a valid barclays account number and sort code) let them have the number concerned and explain why they shouldn't be calling this number. They will remove the number from their records within 24 hours.

They called me 4 times a day, the number is from Barlcays bank. The best thing to do is tell them you will go into your bank if you need to discuss any bannking issues. I had £300 taken form account after talking to these people on the phone!!

6 missed calls from this number and 17 panic attacks later i called the number which was just an automated message saying you have had a call from your bank...i called customer services a number which down to the state of the economy and through lack of funds is a number im quite familier with. The rep told me no one from Barclays has called me. Again this afternoon, i have another missed call, again from the same number, again sickness and panic ensued....then i found this website and suddenly my need for high doses of valium has ceased and i can now hopefully enjoy my easter holidays. I hate barclays....they make me sick

Claimed to be Barclays asking for someone called JASON WRIGHT......new mobile phone ans SIM for me so I have no idea where they got the number from!?!

Pretty sure this number is for loan payments.

dont even answer this call, i have heard of things like this before, they may only make 2 or 3p per call from you but imagine how much that adds up to over a year!!!!

I have had the same phone number for almost 3 years now, recently (Febuary 09)I brought a new PAYG Phone and transfered my old number to my new SIM in my local Orange Shop.

Since then 0845 300 4275 has been calling me Mon to Fri from 8am to 8pm upto 4 times a day once 13 times.

I have spoke to them once and I was told that they were from Barclays, and needed to discuss my account, I responded that I don't bank with Barclays and never have.

The lady asked if I lived at an address and I said never lived there, she said never mind I might have the wrong number, I responded to say that I was registered with the TPS and she said I would not get any more phone calls, Liar this was aboit a month ago and still calling, complained at my local Barclays Branch and they are still calling.

Complained to TPS they responded in a letter saying nothing could be done as Barclays were not cold calling.

HELP!!!

Have had several phone calls from this number, claiming to be Barclays Bank, I have spoken to ALL depts at Barclays (inclu. Fraud) and they have now advised me to call the police because these are fraudulent calls that ARE NOT BARCLAYS!!!!  do not tell them anything!  If by some small chance it is Barclays I would rather not risk it! I have contacted BT and asked for this number to be barred - if my bank want me they can send me a letter!!

This is a genuine call from Barclays. If you do not bank with them, the likelihood is that someone else who does has a similar number to yours; and it has either been misquoted by the customer or mis-entered by Barclays.

i have a brand new contract fone, so new sim too, only had it 2 weeks and this number called it!!! asking for a mr so and so that i have never heard of!

I've been getting calls too so I contacted Barclays directly who said it's not them and everything with my account is fine. When I was a student and used to go over my overdraft quite frequently, Barclays would always send me a letter about it. It's not their style to phone you like that - these things need to be documented in writing anyways for their records.

There is the possibility it could be Barclaycard calling me because I was 1 day late with last months payment - but even so, it's just dodgy to give your details to someone you don't know. That's just basic common sense.

Even if you're worried because you're not the best with budgeting and think that it may in fact have the possibility of being legitimate - just pop into a branch or call Barclays/Barclaycard direct yourself first to check.

The people writing on here saying that they work for them and it definately IS barclays, could quite frankly be the same scheming gits on the phone.

We keep getting this caller on the accounts office number at my company. We do not bank with Barclays and I would be astonished if a UK bank conducted itself in the unprofessional way these people do. The accents are always foreign so it is probably an overseas call centre.

I had a missed call from this number today, and now having googled it and found the above info, even though I haven't spoken to them yet it WILL be Barclays.  I am expecting them to call me relating to a complaint I put in with them yesterday.  Don't swear at them... question the caller politely, ie ask which bank they are if they say "your bank" before confirming your details and I bet they'll then have info you recognise as your account.  I also have a letter from Barclays giving a similar phone number to call.

i got these calls, i answered it they said they were from barclays i hung up and spoke to barclays in branch and they said it was a fraud

Im getting these calls at least 5 times a day, I just answer the phone and let them speak and dont answer.  Calls last about 10 seconds then they hang up, thing is though after about a month of this Im getting sick of them ringing.

It is obviously a scam, it is amusing to see obvious employees of the company who are posting messages that is Barclays Bank!! Absolute rubbish!!

Thing is though if this carries on for another month, Im gonna change my number!

I am with Barclay's and when I got this call, I was almost convinced until I heard a voice in the background saying 'Has he caved yet?'. I then realised it was a bogus call, hung up and thanked god for letting me know about the scam before I gave this scammer all my information.

I called the real Barclay's and they have no knowledge of me being called and told me this number has been recognised as a fraud by several customers. They told me they have an active investigation going on and to ignore future calls from this number.

All the people who come on here saying that this number is real are scammers themselves. This number is NOT real - they are NOT from Barclay's and will take all your money if you are not careful.

Just answered these idiots after trying to ignore it, an african sounding woman asked me to confirm my name, when I refused and mentioned I was recording she got a bit upset. After 2 mins of her quoting drivel I agreed to divulge my name if she could tell me which branch I used (knowing that she couldn't).
In the end I she put the phone down on me.

If anyone from this backward company read this, get staff who have a brain as a battle of wits is no good if its one sided -HOW STUPID DO YOU THINK WE ARE !!
