Got a call and told them I didn't have time and hung up, did 1471 expecting it to say unknown or unavailable like it does when foreigners call, but there was a number, as I'm registered with TPS I'll be reporting them. No idea where they got my number from.

this company call themselves Probus market research.  They called on Saturday at 11.20, 2.21 and 4.15, Monday at 12.20 and tonight about 20 mins ago.  I have asked them to remove me from their  database but they just don't bother

Number belongs to Populous (market research) - had to ask the girl to slow down her speech, they rattle through identifying who they are that quick that you can't understand them. The TPS are useless, what is the point of them existing if they allow nuisance calls into your home ?

Rang me today and the 1471 system revealed that it was Populous Research.  Very rude, hung up as soon as I answered their first question: "is this a business?" "no, it's a private number"
Clearly some more service training required...

Just had a call from James of Populous - so this backs up other comments above.  He started on a spiel about surveys and what people are thinking.  I was icy but for once totally polite, rahter than icy and sarcasttic.  So I suggested that as my number was on TPS he should have done some number research first.

Just had a call from this number as soon as I answered they hung up....I can only assume they are researching how many people are at home!! I am also registered with the TPS.

Just had a call from these muppets. On a Sunday for crying out loud. "I'm afraid we work 7 days a week". Well, you need a new job, fella. Fortunately, I don't work 7 days a week, this is my one day off hence the abuse Michael received.

Calling Sundays is beyond the pale.

Received a call from this number tonight. I didn't answer as it was 9pm! I'm glad I didn't reading through the previous comments. I hope I don't start getting nuisance phone calls now as I will be putting a complaint it. It looks like this company has been at it for years.

I have caller display and this number has called at least twice a day.  I did answer it once and there was silence at the end.  Since then I have ignored the number.  It goes to answerphone and they ring off as soon as it cuts in.

I bought a call blocker box, one press of the button and these people will never ring you again. I LOVE IT!! Best £30 I've spent in a long time

This number rang twice this evening.....I do not give my mobile number to any one.....just family....
Asked how they got my number ....told it's randomly dialled......TWICE on the same day ....mmmmmm!!!

Market researchers are discusting I can't believe people get paid to take ur details and pass them in to other Companys just so they can manipulate people into buying pointless crap!!

These scum are called "Populus" and claim to be a "respected" market research company.  However, one of their operatives admitted to me that they are cold-calling by autodialling random digits to obtain live numbers.  They should be reported to OFCOM, ICO and the MRS.   http://www.populus.co.uk/contact/

this may not be the company called populous calling but rather some scammer spoofing their number to
try to get information out of you like your DOB and bank/credit card details.  after i recieved an international
call the an unavailable call to which i didn't answer, this number then called twice the last was at 20.45pm

These jokers call twice a day, once in the afternoon and then again at about 20.30 to 21.00.  I am TPS registered, and no matter what Ofcom,  Parliament, or anybody says, have never given my number to any website or form, so don't tell me that's how they got my number. Being ex-directory doesn't help, TPS are a waste of space and these idiots ring up regardless.

Do I really have to spend between £40 and £100 on a call blocker?

Although I have opted out of cold calling, this company seems to ignore the law.

Received a marketing call from 0845 313 0337, spoke to the operator, apparently they use random dialler software (which is why the line may be silent when you answer the call) and because they are net 'selling' anything, they can get away with this.

I'm registered with TPS but apparently this doesn't stop them from calling because once again, it's not a sales call - just a very annoying marketing company.
