I have an old Sony Ericsson K700i, bought in Sweden a few years ago, with an ASDA pay-as-you-go SIM card. Was called by these guys. He said somethign about upgrading my insurance (of which I have none, and no intention of getting).

I asked how he got the number, and he first claimed I was on a list of people from phones 4 u or something that could get a lower price insurance.

Anyway, flashing the "I AR ZWEDE" and telling I used a Swedish phone made him bugger off. Persistant *uckers.

Sorry, reading the comments here: Who the F*CK is STUPID enough to pay £9.99 a month for a phone insurance?!!! The chance of breaking the phone is negligible, you have 2 years of warranty, and you can get a new one anyway by just hassling the place of the sale anyway! Working with Sony Ericsson in the past, you can get almost anything done (unless you dip it in water, and then sometimes anyways). Some places in Sweden have a £30 or so one-time deal for a 2 year full insurance, and I'm sceptical against that. No way I would pay £240 over 2 years!!

Considering the small chance of breaking it, I'd rather take the risk and save the money. The difference between the full cost of the insurance, or a new phone is minimal!

Xenom, or whatever their name, are probably not taking numbers from Phones 4 U, but rather have a list of newly registered numbers in the UK, calling them. Seeing how a pure SIM card from ASDA got on their list, I'd say any new number is open for calls, or any number period.

He also said I had an so-and-so insurance, with absolute certanty. They probably just do that to take a shot and see if you do or not.

If you have a mobile insurance of any type: GET RID OF IT NOW, YOU MORON!

(unless you know what you are doing and plan to use it in order to get new, free phones for the next few years, I know some insurances work like that in Sweden at least)

I have worked for this company who are as one other has said in an office in alexandra house, but what this has to do with anything i don't know.  

However, the person who states they have also worked there and cannot handle the forced lying, is lying HIMSELF.  

Xennon make all their staff sign proprioty reviews for the FSA compliancy and all also sign to ensure that any staff found to be 'passing off' or 'infringing trade marks' will be prosecuted by the company and they are very strict on this.  

Even though i am not there anymore i know these are hard working decent people running this company who are far far far from your regular dodgy company owners.  

The bottom line is all sales calls are meant to be persuasive, other wise it wouldn't be a sales call.  

However, they only way to stop these calls is to register with TPS or CTPS if you have a business phone and they will stop calling.  If you are not on that list you have no right to complain, you are effectivly saying 'it's cool to call me with sales calls'.

I will point out though that xennon does wash it's data against TPS, which is NOT supplied by p4u or o2 or bt, it's all bought in from reputible data collection agencies.  Basically it's all to do with those tick boxes on the bottom of forms asking you to tick here if you do not want your details shared with other marketing companies.  

Not all comapnies do wash their data though and some of them do have links with phone shops, and having worked in a few call centres in swansea i know that xennon do wash their data and do get it the right way, and they are probably the only one that does.  

The policy is legit, but i understand not all people want to insure their phones.

The advice i would give, again from my experience is that you need to look out for 'warranty' companies asking you to purchase insurance/warranty for the whole year at a cost of around £79.99, this is illegal and NOT regulated by the FSA but they are aware of them and do nothing about them - naughty FSA.

At the end of the day there only a few unhappy people out there and most of it is your own doing.

IF YOU DON'T WANT SALES CALLS-REGISTER WITH TPS/CTPS.

Xennon do record ALL of their calls in compliance with the FSA - SOPHIE,(but there are timescales on how long they keep them) and you will be amazed at the amount of people who call in their customer services and say they were not told about the £44.99 or they were told they were from their current insurers but when they listen to the call it's no such thing, they always introduce them selves as xennon (secure-a-phone, trading name) and people are always aware of the policy price.

People basically lie to try to get out of the policy and to get a refund, xennon do often play the recordings down the line to customers to prove they have been told, if you want to cancel and want a refund, just say you changed your mind, don't lie about it.

You have the right to change your mind.

Just had a call from this number but the line was dead for 1 second then disconnected. My Mobile number they phone was purchased directly from Vodafone and not one of the highstreet Dodgy Shops. However it was bought some 3 months ago...

Just had a call from this number seems they have changed their name or something  they referred to themselves as IPS and wanted to help claim money back from any bank account I had which the bank had created excess charges.  i suggest telling them to **** off and hang up.

Just had a call from this number, same old story knew nothing about me said I was on 18 month contract with £9.99 per month insurance on Vadaphone. Offered to do 18 months insurance at £79.99, I also asked about cover for malicious calls between the time of the theft and actually reporting it to your provider which may be a few hours and was told was covered for first £2500; most other insurance companies have told me you can not get insurance for this and you are liable for malicious / fraudulent calls up until its reported to your provider. I thought the deal was too good to be true and after reading these comments I am glad I didn’t pass on any details. Guy said his name was Simon.

Right, just to set you all straight, thi company is totally legit!! The people who work there are lovely and are professional..if you toke the time to listen to what they have to say about the policy you'd know that it is actually a really good deal!!!MORONS like you lot just dont know a good deal when you see one!! if you'd rather pay 9.99 a month for your phone insurance then go ahead but this company can offer you a much better deal!!

i received two calls from this number leaving messages from 'xenon cummunication regarding my mobile', the third time i acyually spoke to them and a man was offering to reclaim bank charges for me??!!!
then... the phone cut off.
don't trust this AT ALL.

I have had several calls and messages from this number in the past few weeks, I just ignored them but today I rang up and asked not to be contacted by Xenon again. The rep said I won't be called again... we'll see...

got a vodafone contract from phones 4 u.

had a message from these idiots saying they would call me back.

then they did....said something incomprehensable and then just hung up.

not impressed.

If any of you guys choose to change you insurance provider please make sure it is with a company who are FSA compliant and the insurnace is underwritten by a well known and long established company, otherwise when you go to make a claim you may find that the company does no longer exist - In the case of these guys I would advise to steer well clear.  You really cannont beat networks own insurance for level of cover, speed & serivce!

Oh hello.I took a pay as you go fone out a couple months ago with Vodefone and i am wondering who these people are n how the assitained my number.

Just got a call from this number; answered the phone no one was speaking but i could hear background noise. Kept saying 'hello' but no one was answering me then they just hung up. Dunno who it was.

Absoloute bunch of [***]. I recieved a call from this company (they didn't actually use the name xennon marketing) about a week and a half ago saying they could take over my insurance and cut it by a couple of pounds a month.  What they failed to mention was that they planned on taking the whole amount over 18 month in one lump sum on a date that they also failed to disclose.  I've probably spent about £30 in phone bills trying to get through to them and when they eventually answered they told me they could not do anything about it and that they would txt me their customer services number (and I'm still waiting).  Avoid this company at all costs, I wish I had checked this site before agreeing to anything...

received a call from this number whilst i was driving.  Hung up before i could answer it.  Couldn't find out who it was from.  Anyway of knowing who it was.
