Totally suckered in by this company today. took a sim only contract via vodafone and Xennon called me saying they'd reduce my payments by £4.00 per month.  What they never mentioned is that this is for their insurance and the payments you make to vodafone do not change.  Spent half the morning trying to sort out not setting up a contract with them and I'm still not sure of they have taken money out of my account. Foolishly I just confirmed all the details they already had about me, which had me even more angry after the call as I was annoyed Vodafone ahd passed me details on to a third party.

I'm usually very careful but as they had all my details and said it was in relation to my Vodafone account I fell for it.

They are regualted by the finacial services Authority so are a ligit company butin my opnion use clever wording to mis sell.

I work for ITV and am very tempted to tell our consumer affairs dept.

    Rant Over.

To add to your comments Malcolm,

Please do speak to your current affairs dept, we are all suffering. I spoke to the bank at the weekend and they said as I had given my details it wasn't fraud but scamming. I have had to stop my debit card and Xennon have taken two amounts within two weeks £44.99 and £59.99.

I am always very vigilant when giving my bank details out but they were pretending to be Vodafone!

I've passed this on to our consumer affairs correspondent to look at.  I've just checked my Bank and they have asked for £69.99, despite me calling them and being assured that they were cancelling the policy. I even went through to the complaints department and spoke to some oen who assured me that if they take money out they will put it back.  looks like I'll have to cancel my debit cards and get new too.

These ppl called me sayin they were my insurance company and said they were gonna lower my insurance from 9.99 to 5.88 a month so i was like ok!

I never check my bank statements but i just happened to today and they took £69.99 out of my account! The bank called them and all they got was a load of abuse from the person on the phone. I went to phones4u and they clearly know about it but dont want to comment, just want to pass the buck onto the bank or xennon.  I dont know what to do!:(:(

DO NOT ANSWER TO THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS A SCAM!!!

An update for you all, I have sent an email to Watchdog about this scam and a link to this forum. I really hope they investigate this one for us as it's fraud and should be dealt with. Vodafone are not interested nor are the banks with regard to clawing back any money on our behalf.

How many others are there who don't even know about this site here!

Anyway fingers crossed they can help us.

I called them up today from my parents house....since when i used my mobile or house phone all I got was the busy tone..... possibly because they know it was me calling?! They were meant to call me back on Friday- which they never.

Anyway, got through no bother from my parents phone and spoke to a girl and I demanded a refund  because based when they called me back to confirm everything the girl was giggling away in the background so I hung up on her (was gonna call up and complain later)....so technically because their follow up confirmation phone call was interrupted they shouldnt have charged me the £69.99.

I cancelled my bank card incase they tried to take anything else off of me so they are sending me a refund cheque in the post.....I'm not holding my breath.

well i thought they give me quite a good service think alot of people have selective hearing as this company is authorised and regulated by the financial.services.authority FSA and explained they were taking 44.99 for the first 4 months up front  then 5.88 then after that they also do other products such as reclaiming bank charges  AND THEIR COVER IS ALOT MORE COMPREHENSIVE THAN PHONES 4 U AND VODA  BIG UP YOU THE XENNON CREW

I certainly do not have selective hearing.  This company perhaps have selective choice over who to scam and who not to depending on how much money they've managed to steal on a day to day basis.  They lied when confirming my bank details- they told me they already had them and needed me to confirm them to prove I was me.  When in actual fact they never had them and needed me to read them so they could get the full account number to take money from my account!

Had they been honest and said they were not my insurance company they wouldnt have needed to ask them at all because I would have told them i already have insurance and dont need more cover on top of that!

Has anyone tried to get a refund or what are ur banks or insurance company saying? I got a form from my insurance company to fill in and im waiting to hear back from my bank as to whether or not they can refund my money.

got a call from these guys claiming they were my phone insurers, think it was under the name 'securiphone'...anyway, naive student i am went along with it. now i'm having to file an official claim against them as they took £44.99 as a 'set up fee' from my account. I certainly never would've agreed to that as i am a first year uni student. I've rang them numerous times but they are the rudest and most unproffesional 'organisation' i have ever spoken too. Hopefully i will get this resolved through the claims organisation i have rang, and are thankfully much more helfpul...

This company is a scam. I used to work for this company for 6months. They tell you they need your card details to do a check! They need them to take as much money as they can from you! PLEASE PLEASE dont give them your details

Told me they were from vodafone, took 69.99 from my account without warning so i have reported my card as stolen so they cant take any more. It is pure fraud. I have asked for a refund which they have said they will send a cheque(i dont believe this) and told them to cancel the insurance which they said they have. BUT, i have yet to get confirmation from them about the cancellation and i imagine they will try to fob me off with a cancellation fee to do it. At least they cant get any more out of my account so they can kiss my a4se. I am going to the police at the advice of the bank as this is fraud.

If you do ever get a refund from this company it will be a miracle! They dont even tell you they are going to take money from your account and when you ask them they hang up on you! They are registered with the FSA but they are still scam artists! The reason  i left the company was because i could not stand the constant [***]!! They will take a non-refundable £19.99 admin charge which they will never refund to you! And as for getting any sort of insurance claim from them....NO CHANCE!!!!!!!

They also deal with bank charges..but they are NOT registered with the FSA to do that!!!!!

Using the number  07973574198  gets you through to someone higher up the chain, who faithfully promised to sort my case out. Sure enough, 5 minutes later i had a confirmation email through that my policy was cancelled and i was recieving my 69.99 refund. He asked me where i got his number as it was his personal mobile. I figure he doesnt like be harassed any more than we do so i suggest you all get on it now :-)

    Good luck folks
