I had an email only today from someone who has been threatened with a £5000 bill for not paying the original bill....

All we have to do is remember how bad we felt when it was happening to us... I will NEVER forget it, and i trust all you lovely people on here will feel the same...

    Haha No worries Val,

They thretned me with the action they are going to take and I just put the phone down as threatening me does not intrest me at all. Sent you an email earlier.

They are just thieves and it makes me furious that they are allowed to get away with it. I cant believe how many people just pay up out of worrying.

Brittannia law are scammers. They cold called me and stupidly i agreed to let them act on my behalf with the knowledge that i wouldnt have to pay untill after we won the case. They put an application in and demanded money. Stupidly i paid. That was 8 months ago. I tried to call them on numerous occasions to see what was happening with my case. No answer! It seems to me that they have done a runner! I'm £450 out of pocket, by paying them! And i still have to pay ridiculous money to the council for business rates. Im going to appeal myself. My advice to everyone is to do it yourself, you can gather all the evidence on the VOA website which i just found out.

think you should take them to the small claims court to get your money back and give the the court any address or name in which they are trading. it costs about £35, also report them to trading standards and action fraud.

It would appear Owenson Law are a completely fabricated company - no details of them on the Internet or Companies House - they simply do not exist and therefore you should disregard any correspondence they have sent you - it's just scare tactics

Hi Guys - Thank you to all who have been kind enough to reply. We have a legal team that works in conjunction with our recovery people and all the avenues we would usually follow including outsourcing aspects of our investigation to a licensed investigator are currently ongoing. I came across this forum whilst looking for any additional facts to share with the recovery people as we handed on pour instructions. We are a national vending company based in Rochester in Kent - in fact, we are Britain's oldest vending business - but we are also a finance house correctly constituted to underwrite both leasing and business finance packages for our business customers. Consequently, we have some difficulties in sharing online all we know or believe we know regarding these people. However, I do promise to share with you all anything that can be shared and keep you informed from time to time as to how we proceed. Kind regards. Ed

Hi - Thank you for your reply and direction to  potential programme makers with an interest in this case. Unfortunately, as a business and given rules, regulations and even commercial law we are not able to just broadcast  information lodged with us by customers regardless of how they have dealt with us. If we are able to bring an action against them in Court then the rules change as the information provided to the Court is in the public arena. Until then, there are limitations as to what we can share publicly. I can say this: our Leasing Agreement was with a registered limited liability company which clearly has frustrated the agreement and incurred an increased/increasing debt before disappearing. As the company has no visible assets it will be very difficult to recover this debt unless the officers of the company can be proven to have acted against the law and thus have unfairly sought the protection of limited liability. However, in this case and because of the poor credit rating of the company the debt was secured by a director of the company on a signed and witnessed personal guarantee - therefore, the credit was actually granted to her. Therefore, at this stage it is she we seek as it she who is now liable for the debt. Her whereabouts are sought. We can gain judgement against her in her absence but unless we can also seek enforcement it becomes somewhat pointless as a process and it comes with court costs. For some judgements we would utilise the Sheriff to recover an adjudged debt but if the debt is incurred by a property owner then  we would place a charge upon their personal property until the debt is settled. Interest is being accrued and will be accrued until the debt is settled. However, we need to find this lady and give her time to settle the debt before proceeding - the law requires us to be circumspect, reasonable, timely and proportionate in our dealings. I am in my sixties and having been in business for many years. I could tell tales of  encounters with commercial customers that would curl the hair of a broadcaster - but sadly, these days the rules very much protect those practising scams and leave their victims exposed. I doubt there is really anyone out there that reads this forum who does not already know that better than I. So I wish you all well and if any specific information becomes know as the the whereabouts of the directors of this particular company my email address remains: ed.murphy@ukvending.co.uk

    Regards

    Ed

Hi don't panic as Proctor law won't do anything except run like Britannia Law did as we have all heard nothing in months. It is all a scam so when they ring again tell them what you think of them then just leave the phone off the hook for five minutes untill they get fed up of talking to themselves. I guarantee they won't do anything. Good luck :-)

Hi,I got a phone call from proctor law last week about court action being taken this week to recover costs. If you tell that you know they are a scam, you want it in writing what they are going to do with the names of their directors on it, he then didn't seem to want to hang around.I'll have to wait to see what happens next.
