just got a call from them, they said their 'computer broke' so they would call me back, i won't be giving them any of my details

Just got my O2 contract this week and got my first call off this number today. Wouldn't confirm any details with them and asked how I knew who they really were. They guy the told me what the number in my postcode added up to and told me my house number was a single digit. Was correct both times and also told me what my security question was. Said he would call back as I still didn't give any info and no call as of yet. Going to the O2 shop I bought the phone from to ask about this.

Got a PAC code from them this morning and then get a call. did not know if they were genuine or not so I just said I am terminating this call have a good day.

Got my contract on the 2nd July 08, had 15 calls in first day, told them all I knew they was scammers, they got annoyed with me when I said that, also told them I knew what they are upto and not to call again as I am tps registerd and will take the matter further, also for all your information o2 is based @

so if you ask them to give the address or even the area they are in, if it is not Ventura House , Rotherham. Then you know it is fake, when o2 customer services do call they greet you with their name, I will guarentee a safe chat with o2 customer services as I work for o2 @ Ventura House, Meadows Rd, Brookfields Park, Manvers, Rotherham S63.

This is an 02 Number, its used by the outbound team, it appears there call center is spilt in two, inbound (ie when you call into 02) and the outbound (where they call you to sell stuff or check you are happy with service).

I have spent over a month fighting the inbound team to explain this number is used by 02, the outbound team are nearly impossible to get through too.

My issue occured when i was offered a good deal from an 02 outbound member, then when i tried to call back to take up this offer no one knew what i was on about.

I would always now make sure i always get the first name and extension number of every person you speak to.

I believe most phones on the inbound system when used to dial out appear from a witheld number, the outbound system appear to come from one of several numbers.

If you call this number back you will be told you have been called by 02 and they will call you back soon, if you required to speak to some one call 2302 (may have quoted number wrong) from your phone, if you call this you are put through to a menu system the same as the 02 main menu.

At the end of many calls I was finally told this was an o2 number, a manager requested the outbound team call me back, all issues resolved now.

Same here, new contract a few days ago and got the call today... very UNIMPRESSED by being spammed already =/

I recently renewed my contract with 02 also, so I suspect that they are calling re. insurance. I have, on average, a call every day from this number but I have not answered it.

But hang on, I just got 2 calls from this number while I was at work (so didn't pick up) and I have just cancelled my O2 contract. Is it likely then that they are calling to try and talk me out of cancelling? I'm waiting for my PAC code you see..

i've had 7 missed calls in 2 days from this number. i was told by o2 that they had not phoned me. I have just upgraded my contract and these calls started to come.

I just got this call from this number! He was asking for my O2 account password. I told him I don't have it. Shxx he got my home address. What should I do?

My contract with 02 is coming to an end, i got a call from this number offering me a great deal with 02,thought it was a scam so called 02 up a few days later, 02 had the phone call logged on there system and asured me it was no scam, so i have taken the deal and will receive my new handset in three working days.

I renewed my contract with O2 this afternoon...an hour and a half later, a missed call from 0845 863 0287. If they call again I will not give out any personal details, as it seems a little hit and miss as to whether they are genuinely O2....strange how I just renew my contract and then start getting marketing calls though, not impressed, and I dont need insurance!!!!!!

i've had my 02 contract for nearly a year now and i cant remember seeing this number before - although i could be wrong, so i don't think it's just new people, unless they were calling to tell me i can have a phone upgrade now?!?

Had 4 calls this week. Not answered any. Just listened. Nothing.
I have not been charged.

Had 6 calls so far today - 2 in the last 5 minutes.

O2 you are seriously [***] over the trust of your customers here! I just got my contract phone about 2 weeks ago, i havent even added any numbers to the sim nor told anyone about my new number and i've recieved about 10 different numbers! I never answer because it can only be outside companies trying to sell, plus all of em leading to this website, so its obvious others are being bothered to. Its a joke, i came back to O2 because its a company i thought i could trust. Obviously i was wrong, sort it out you bunch of [***]!

I have received missed 2 calls from this number today, and i have just cancelled my contract with 02. thjey did not leave a voicemail

Upgraded my phone last week, then had phone call from this number saying I am due for an upgrade!!!! Said they were O2 and said there records have not been updated and they will remove my number from called again. If o2 ring it usually comes up with o2!!!
