Report a phone call from 08458630287 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- JamesSame boat as you all! Anyone answered yet and found out what it is?
- MarsaliI just went onto a contract with o2 as well and have now been phoned by this number... Puts o2 in a bad light, eh?!
- Mr AngryExactly the same for me. New o2 contract, keep getting calls from this number.
I'll be blocking............ - Marsali| 1 replyHi
I posted a comment earlier, but followed this problem up with o2. I suggest that the rest of you do too. You can just email them online - go to the o2 website and to 'Contact Us'.
It is not o2. They have taken this matter seriously and they are asking for our help to stop them.
Has anyone actually managed to speak to someone at the other end of the line? Or like me, has everyone just had silence?
They also suggested going to the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) - set up by the government - to get this number stopped so that they can no longer harass you. - STEVEI just got O2 contract, I have had this number phone loads. I phoned O2 and they do not recognise the mumber so block it. Very dodgy!!!!!!!!!!!
- Graham| 1 replyI'm surprised with the previous comment that it's not O2. I started a new contract with O2 less than a week ago, and I have received missed calls twice from 08458630287. I assumed that after signing a contract costing £30/month, O2 were trying to scam me for another 20p, the cost if I hit the 'reply' button. O2's fineprint: "Inclusive minutes exclude calls to all non-geographic numbers (08, 05) which are charged at 20p per minute, except calls to 0871 numbers which are charged at 35p per minute, calls to 07744/07755 numbers which are charged at 25p per minute and calls to premium rate numbers where special charges apply."
The only other organisation that knows my new mobile number is Carphone Warehouse, who may have been notified of my new muber when I requested that my old number be transferred. The reason I moved from Carphone Warehouse was their 'misleading' salespersons.
If anyone finds out who is responsible, please make a posting on this website. - kimi got an o2 contract this week too and have had 2 calls from this number
- RachelI have just rang 02 after reading this and they said they have looked up the number and they are possibly ringing giving a welcome call to new users.
I said it doesnt explain why people are getting silent calls.
He said if it carries on ring back and NEVER give out any details over the phone even if they ask you for it, offer to go into the shop and give them there. - RachelNOTE!
I meant ring back 02 not the caller! sorry my mistake :) - TomI did pick up once and they knew my name, they started talking asking if it was me then put the phone down.
also Does anyone know how to block a this number, is there a way to do it on ur phone? - PaulI'm in the same boat as the rest of you. Got a new O2 contract on Saturday, calls started on Monday and I'm getting about 1 or 2 a day.
I haven't answered and they're not leaving voicemail. - penguini got the same
how do i block the number? - mikeJust answer it...i did. Its just 02 welcoming you, making sure you are happy and know how to set up your voicemail and do you like your phone. they did ask if i want itemised billing - nope! and insurance - nope! and thats it! no more 10 missed calls a day! dont be scared guys..just get it out the way and be strong!!
- mikein addition to the above, they did want to confirm my identity...it was just..the 1st line of my address, my monthly tarriff, and confirming my mobile number. Scammers cant do anything with that info.
- TomWhen you signed your contract you must have forgotten to circle the box that says "I don't want my information passed onto other selected companies" The same thing has happened to me.O2 will have sold your phone number to marketing companies including telesales. When they call you ask to speak to the manager and tell him to remove you from the calling list.Do not confirm your adddress, identity or anything else.It is not O2 welcoming you. They would not ask for your information again, especially over the phone.
- BenI started getting calls from this number after getting a contract with O2. I decided to pick up see what its about. They said its some kinda welcome call. Then they started asking for my details to confirm them???? wtf? they just sent my new phone to my address(which i am speaking to them on) seems like confirmation to me. I hung lol not giving my details out to a stranger on the phone.
- Caller: O2 Apparantly
- mattit is a welsh fraudulent company, selling insurance for £69-£70 which you will never see again as the insurance they are offering doesn't exist, i got my contract on O2 last week and have had multiple calls from them and keep telling them to remove me from the list which they promise to do but dont.
I was very lucky that the guy from carphone warehouse was really good and informed me all about them and how to deal with them, alot of people are being duped do not buy from this company!! - ChrisIm a day to late.. Was rang by this number yesterday ad=nd the claimed they were o2. Found it strange that they would ask me to confirm my details but went ahead with it. So unfortunately got scammed out of £71. Have no idea how they got hold of my new contract number but advice for anyone who recieves a call from them in the future is to just hang up and get the number blocked. Spread the word aswell don't let this happen again.
- Caller: Scammers
- sandroi've just received a call from the mysterious number...hope that I will not charged for having answered..however, when I answered they hung up immediately.
- matti'm sorry to hear you were duped out of your money chris, as i said warning to everyone else, it doesnt cost for you to answer, but do not speak to them lol
