same here getting really frustrated with it. I'm just ingnoring them and hopeing that i shall get bored of calling and stop but no such luck yet.

i just started a new o2 contract this week and just recieved a call from them. judgin from this website its 02 after something, they stopped ringing after 4rings so cant have been that important!

I have joined O2 on a contract on saturday and have received missed calls today.

I can confirm (after speaking with an O2 advisor) that this number is not recognised by O2.

They have advised not to accept calls from this number as this is nothing to do with them. So therefore I would block the number or if you are going to answer the call do not confirm any personal details on it.

I can also confirm this is NOT an O2 welcome call.

Re-newed my contract with O2,yes you guessed it plagued with calls,told them in no uncertin terms what they can do ( and who with ) hope they have taken the hint....LOL

This number phoned me this morning and looked up this website, they just called me again and their end of the phone was very crackily and obvious it was a mobile not a real office. I said to them that I knew they weren't 02 and I'd appreciate it if they never phone again and instead of saying he was actually from 02 he didn't deny it and said oh umm ok uh fair enough. Some people!

I started my 02 contract a week ago got my first call off this number yesterday when i started my contract they offered me insurance and i said no to it then. They must thinks i am going to change my mind

I'm also a new contract customer and have just received a call from this number, they asked for personnal contact details and when I asked them why they said there connection was breaking up and hung up on me?!?
So then I found this web site and after reading most of the comments (which appear similar to mine) I logged on at My O2 and started a live 'chat' with one of their advisors, here's what they said..

michelle: ? Sophie, thats not a great answer especially as I'm a new customer, I've only had my new phone and contract for just over a week and I wasn't expecting my number to be handed out to a "non-geographic number" and I must say that I'm very disapointed about it. I will be taking steps to cancel my contract.
Sophie: I understand that this is not the answer that you were expecting, however please trust me if there is anything that I could have done for you, I'd have surely done it for you.
Sophie: I hope you  understand my situation in this matter.
Sophie: Please don't consider this reason to cancel your contract. I request you to please have a word with them and they'll definitely help you with the same.
michelle: I understand your situation Sophie, but not O2's as it seems like passing the buck, I hope you will be passing our conversation onto your superiors. Thanks for your time.

Same here with o2. New phone phone and contract and just missed this call.

i also got a contract phone from o2 last week and have been gettin the phone calls everyday.No one talks when i answer though betting its a scam though .  Gonna block the number .

You people amaze me.

Simple bit of logic for you.
If you take out a new o2 contract, and then someone phones a day or two later saying, Hi it's o2, the likelyhood is that it is, i mean who else would know that you have just take a new o2 contract?

Yes people can randomly dial an o2 number but they could get people who have been on o2 for years, all you lot are new contracts.

The online help thing is about as much use as chocolate fire guard, as you can clearly tell from the way their advisors speak that they are not based in the UK.

Plus another thing for you, o2's own website shows this is a legit number from their outbound team calling you up, i've just had a call, and it took me about 30 seconds to find out it was o2.

So stop with the "oh its a scam, or tell them where to go etc" its legit, and a simple bit of research proves this.

Am getting really peeved with numbers phonin persistently after only renewing my contract 3 days ago :@ already had fights with a company claiming to be able to give me my insurance cheaper than phones 4 u - they claim they are called mobile 4 less??? as soon as they stop calling this number begins!!! why do o2 hand out your number to people who phone and just hang up or pester you for bank details, how can this be allowed???? If anyone works for o2 please enlighten me - Rich don't fancy chatting about this on facebook. Thanks

keep gettin called by this number - wasnt sure who it was at first, though maybe someone contactin me about a youth camp over the summer - can see clearly now its now - i never answered any of the calls, just kept hanging up

Just had a call from this number. No reply when answered the phone. Googled the number and found this site.

Called the number and was directed to call 2032 from my mobile to call o2. Went throught the options and eventualy spoke to a custome services "assitant" who was amazed that I had done some detective work to find out who the caller was!!

He was more concerned that I didn't have a pass word for my o2 account, not the fact that I was woken up by o2 due to being on nights at the moment.

I had calls from this number and it sounded like someone Turkish i thnk ( no offence ). and i got 3 of theese in one day. I phone back and they said 'who the f*** is this. so i just hanged up and blocked the number.

Set my contract up last week.. they rung me today && cud hardly unddrstand the bloke. they knew all my details. so i think it is o2 :/

similar in nature to being accosted by deeply unpleasant and intrusive people in the street
The shame of the legal position is that cold calling like this is not illegal
nevertheless, whether it is 02 or whoever it is it is still scamming,
and an annoying and unnecessary nuisance

Yep it's O2. Had a problem with my phone earlier. They were just ringing to check it had solved the problem.

if it's O2 i've had my contract for years, however, it is now due for renewal this month so maybe they are trying to remind me.
