Had 2 missed calls from this number today - I cancelled my Lifeline Insurance last week. (O2 / Carphone Warehouse customer). I doubt it's a coincidence.

I just got a call off this number and they said they were from O2 but I refused to give my address and said they should know my details if they were ringing me as I wouldn't give them out unless I rang the company.  He sounded a bit shocked and told me to ring customer services which I will do tonight.  However I did request a PAC code and was told I should have it on a text within 48 hours and that has never been recieved.

This number has called me about 2 - 3 times a day for the past few weeks, before answering calls like this - I always google them. Have not answered it yet for fear of a scam, but it's been really stressing me out and am planning to answer next time - and will tell them not to call me again!

this number keeps ring me and its doing my head in. they claim its 02 asking for insurance but after reading all these comments i dont think it is. i dont know if there charging me or how much my bill will be email at nathan_davey666@hotmail.com thanks for any help

I get about 10 calls aday my 02 contract is about to end, I think they are trying to get me to renew my contract I also have 02 insurance,they must all be coming from the same department.

This is definitely 02. If you ring the number back there's an automated message saying - this is a courtesy call from 02 to check that everything is ok blah blah blah you do not need to call back as we will ring you back blah blah blah. so ur best off answering it and getting them off your backs cos they really dont stop.

i took out a contract with 02 last week and now they keep phoning sometimes the phone will ring up to 100 times a day! its driving me mad how can i stop these calls? when i answer the phone no one is there!!!

i have had several calls from this number offering me insurance and claiming to be from O2, these people cant possibly be from O2 as my contract is SIM ONLY and does not qualify for insurance!! If they were from O2 they would of known that... O2 call from an 0800 number not 0845!!

Ive just answered a call form this number after 8 missed calls a day for the last week!

A very helpful man called 'James' was on the other end and offered me a free upgrade and reduced my bill without me giving any details whatsoever! apart from my post code... He also new the what my password was i.e mothers maiden name...

He claimed to be an outbound sales of 02.

CraigW - how do you know he knew your password?  Did he tell you it, and you confirm it?  Or did he ask you for it and say "That's right" when you answered?

THIS IS NOT O2.

I would advise you to call O2 and change your account password IMMEDIATELY...

more like not!!! ive answered it once before n i am no convinced its from o2.... so if any1 answers i would say hang up n ask them not 2 phone u bk and if they do tell them u r goin 2 report them it should stop the calls

I have been with o2 for ages now, and just started getting these missed calls.
Isnt the end of the world having a missed call. So i will just continue to ignore them.  It cant be an o2 welcome call, thats pants.  I have been on this contract for about 8 months.

Ive just had a phone call from them just this minute.
I picked up the phone but it hung up straight away.
This is my 3rd one this week now.
And yes i had an o2 contract last week lol.

Ive been getting this number rining me over the past two weeks, normally every day at least two or three times, seems to be increasing as the days goes by. Ive answer twice and no one is ever there. I called back once and there was a voicemail system.

I rang O2 and they told me it was not a number they would call me from and that should it become a nuisence I should report it to the police.

I have been with O2 for over 18 months now and i have never had a call or a problem like this...until today. I dont believe this is O2. Thing is that they did speak to me and they said they were O2 but i was busy, so they said they would call later.

Just read all of your messages re 08458630287 having received 4 calls from them including 1 at 11pm so I contacted O2 and they informed me it was their customer service chasing up to see if I was happy with the service. However he did agree that it was unacceptable to have a call at 11pm and has placed a block on them calling me again. Worth complaining to them and getting them to block it for you all. Hope that helps!!! As the phone is for me 17yr old son I have also blocked the internet which also means no expensive mms photo messages, premium numbers and international calls so hopefully he will carry on and not land me with ridiculously high bills. Good luck to you all with that number. If they won't do it for you threaten to cancel your contract there are plenty of others out there for you to choose from and do they really won't to lose your business?
