- jo| 1 replyits certainly not o2 welcoming anyone, ive been a customer with the same number and contract for 3 years and only just started getting these calls, havent answered yet, and thanks to the good advice and info here i wont be answering at all!!
- JadeI keep on getting these calls - so I called O2 to see if they could block this number. They can't. Great hey!
Does anyone else know how you can block this number? - JenI have had a contract with O2 for many years, I can't even remember how many, always kept the same number too and have only just this week started to get calls from this number. My guess is that if you answer the call you will be charged. Im sure I have spoken to O2 before and they told me they would never call, that they would email if they needed to contact me so im quite sure this isn't a legitimate O2 person calling.
I am going to try to block the number and will certainly never answer it! It is very annoying. - sjl0103Definately O2. Just called it from my work phone as I been harrassed for 2 weeks by this number.
- Caller: O2
- JayJust because you called it back and it says thanks for calling 02 does not mean it definitely is 02
- KrisI'v been getting 4 calls a day from this number but i never answer and i'm coming on my 13th month with this contract.
Can't be just for new o2 contracts cos i'm getting loads of calls to.
To whomever made this page, your a god send.
Regards - sjl0103Just had this e-mail back from O2. I contacted asking to confirm that this was a genuine number.

Hope this hepls - PurplepixiiI've had an O2 contract for 3+ years and just this week have started getting calls from this number. So far I have cut every call off immediately but I think next time I shall answer and give them a piece of my mind!!
- joIf it is o2 then they are making themselves sound very dodgy, and annoying....have had quite a few calls from this number since yesterday, have not picked up as I never answer a number I don't know.
Surely in this security conscious day and age o2 would have the sense to not call people asking to confirm details etc, they would send you an email, text or letter about promotions. They have a website, they can advertise there for goodness sake!, then if you want it you can contact them....
I'm not picking up these calls even if they are from o2, the very nature of it invades my privacy. - CarolineI have had several missed calls a day from this number. They have left one message on my voicemail which lasted for 4 minutes (according to the nice voicemail lady) and was just silence.
But I have been with O2 for nearly 18 months on this contract, so it definitely can't be a 'welcome to O2' call... - SteveI've had loads of calls from this number and finally just answered it. They said they were from o2 and wanted to tell me about some services but then asked me to confirm my address and security password. When I queried this and asked them to e-mail me or send me something in the post they said they couldn't so I hung up. I can't believe o2 would be phoning customers up and asking them for security details - especially not from an 0845 number
- SarahI answered in French. They hung up!

- Caller: o2
- JuliaI've been with O2 for over a year, am halfway through a 12 month contract, and already have insurance. I have had missed phone calls from this number once or twice a day for over a week, and a blank voicemail. I'm finding it very annoying. I like the idea to answer in French! I might answer with "schweinhund" or something that sounds fierce. I'm also going to email O2 to complain - I think the more people who do, the more they will realise this company is being a pain in the butt.
- JuliaAs I said in my last message, I emailed O2. This is part of my reply:

I have just called them and they have promised to sort this out - EddIve had an O2 contract for nearly 3 yrs and started receiving these calls. I usually receive 3 calls a day and just ingore them. I did answer once and told them to stop calling me as I am not interested in anything they had to say. I am starting to lose my patience and very close to being quite abusive to them.
My girlfriend and I went into the O2 shop to let them know about this and whilst we were in there, she got a call from them. O2 said that their call centres never call customers so it must be some kind of third party trying to flog stuff.
My girlfriend did answer a call and whoever was on the end of the line was asking if she wants to upgrade her phone. I think they just want your details for possibly fraud purposes. - Silly beggar that gave her details....OH fiddlesticks! After umpteen missed calls and ringing the number back to be told it was O2 I eventually answered. I was told it was O2 advising customers of their promotions and could I verify a few security details. They got everything but my bra size out of me until they asked for my PASSWORD to access my online account. After refusing to comply, they promptly ended the call. HELP.... Now I'm scared someone is impersonating me/using my details fraudulently and I'm the silly mug who gave it to them on a platter.... Have emailled O2 and Opal Telecoms who are the line provider (apparently) - still waiting for responses....
- Caller: o2 - allegedly...
- D. MatthewsThis number keeps calling ne at all times of tHEday and they never leave a message? What I would like to know is where they got my number from? Does O2 give out our numbers to third parties? There should be a law against this sort of thing?
- Caller: Not sure?
