- Janitha| 1 replyIt was a foreign man possibly Indian or Paskistan. He said he worked for Sky TV and he wanted to know my debit card number, because he said my warranty had run out. I have never had a warranty with Sky. So I told him that and he said he would send me a letter about it and then I could pay by cheque. Needless to say I have not received any mail from him.
- Clare| 4 repliesI had a call from a foreign man possibly Indian saying he was from Sky TV and offering warranty on my Sky system. As I knew the warranty on my system had just run out I stupidly agreed and gave him my debit card details, my card has now been debited for £200, The man had told me that I would be paying £4.50 per month....I have contacted my bank and am now following their fraud procedure to get my money back. I have tried calling the 0870 number but surprisingly nobody answers!! :0(
- Anon| 1 replyThe number belongs to Skylite Services UK, a small company operating from a unit in London Road, Norbury. Although professing to use 'Authorised Sky Agent Engineers' they are not endorsed by Sky.
This is their website, though a search on 192.com, Google maps and Whois proves quite interesting. No employees and a web site owned by a non-trading individual.

- CherifI had the same case. When I asked if they can send me a paper bill they said it's not possible and that I have to pay on the phone giving my credit card details. So I understood the story and told them to forget about it.
- JaseI had the same as above. I asked if the £5 per month could be added to my monthly bill and he didn't answer the question. He waffled on about legal difficulties and stated he would send me a letter. I told him that I never give my details out over the phone and would await the paper work and discuss it with my misses (just an excuse to get rid of him). I knew it was a scam when he started to get a bit aggressive and challenging so he was told where to go and hung up. Tried phoning the number back to say what I thought of him but not surprisingly got no reply.
- VivHad exactly the same type of call on 5/2/09. He gave his number as 0870 7777375 Ext.343, which made me suspicious staight away as call centre staff are not usually so forthcoming with a number! A guy saying that my 'maintenance contract' with Sky had expired,I told him we had no maintenance contract, so he then tried to extract a credit/debit card number from me on the basis of updating my details with Sky. I told him that I would not give these details over the 'phone, he then said but they were not allowed to take account/sort code numbers at which point I hung up. I have sent an email to Sky giving the details of the call and await a reply.

- WilliamsI've had a call today (6 Feb) to the same effect. When I refused to give bank details the caller said I could ring back. When I failed to do so he rang again saying that they closed at 3pm today & my 'contract' would be cancelled.
I don't understand how they can get away with it as not everyone would be as suspicious as me! - Dave26th Feb Same as other folks.. Asian man...Sky warranty run out... £6 to reinstate warranty with Sky for one year.Sounds too good to be true.... probably was. Said could he put offer in writing... he said as warranty had run out it needed to be reinstated quickly. I asked him for his phone number to ring him back to confirm validity... number was as above extension 208 ask for Rick. Read comments on this web site .Didnt ring him !!
- Caller: SKY ???
- catherineHad exactly the same thing yesterday. My husband took a call from 'Sky' saying warranty had run out and did I want to renew the contract for £22. Stupidly I gave him my card details and was suspicious when he asked what box I had. I rang Sky and they had no record of the call, so I rang my bank and disabled my card.
Guess what....they've obviously tried to take the money, as tonight I've had a call from Rick.!! I told him I had rang Sky and he wasn't phased at all, so I asked for his number for a number to ring him back on and got 'old faithful', I can't believe the cheek of it.
He's just rang again wondering why I haven't rang him back - told him I was to busy contacting BBCs Watchdog! - emmaPretty much the same as every one else.Warranty run out bla bla bla urgent i renew it untill i politely explained i'd had sky + fitted three weeks ago so had plenty of warranty left! They said had no record of it as the systems hadn't been updated yet and i could extend the warranty on my new box for £6 month.Nice try fella and he was the second person to ring me claiming to be from sky!
- SteveMy Grandfarther had a Cold Call from this company and he has never had Sky Tv
They told him he was in need of insurance and as he is 89 years old and has slight Dementia and Cancer they took advantage and have taken money from his account They Need To Be Held To Account.
And Are nothing but SCUM- Caller: Skylite Ensured

"Skylite lighting up your life"- Caller: Skylite
- ANONI worked for Skylite for almost one year! Their office is situated in Norbury (South West London) and is run by Brother Shameer and Sister Farah!
They are a fraudulent company and the staff mainly consists of 16-20 years olds.
They get your details from the Yellow Pages and cold call everybody.
I am actually in the process of suing the company as they were not (don’t know if they are now) registered with their local tax office and they were ‘taxing’ me each month with however they like!
Do not trust them!! - AnonI was called by a company claiming to be Sky, saying my insurance policy had expired and asking for my card details. I queried why they didnt want sort code/ account no and was told they needed card details to retype into system??? I again asked why if my policy had expired they didnt have any details to be told again it was because policy had expired. I asked again who the company was to be told it was sky. So stupidly I gave my card details agreeing to £6 per month being taken. However I had £150 debited from my account. I rang the company and gave them 5 days to credit my account or legal action would procede. I have received the money back and habe also passed all their details onto trading standards who are looking into the case.
What a scam! - suspicious femaleWow - how glad am I to have found these comments! The foreign gentleman cold-called today saying something very similar to those above but wanted to talk to the person who held the Sky contract. He agreed to talk to me (my husband is the contract holder but I explained that he's very deaf), and I smelt a very large rat. I got out of him that he was from Skylite but I told him that our dish is already covered, and anything else we would go straight to Bang & Olufsen (we don't use the Sky remote as the B&O one does everything). I don't think he'd ever come across that one as he seemed quite taken aback, but I suspect that he'll be calling again sometime. So I'm very pleased to have seen other people's experiences here.
- Caller: Skylite
- angrythese people are con merchants and are nothing to do with sky..the thing that makes me angry is that SKY is doing nothing about them making false claims.if anyone is having difficulty in stopping payment to these people ,change your bank card ,that way they cant get your mony
- NickyMy mother in law received a call from them today, saying that they needed her credit card details. She needed to pay them £5 a month apparently.
They first asked where he sky dish was on the house.
Luckily, she had the sense to say that she doesn't give her details out over the phone, they said that she needed to call back today (Saturday) as they didn't work on Sundays and gave her this number.
She then called us as she was suspicious.
My father in law had organised and ordered the Sky last year and he died in January so my mother in law didn't know whether this was normal or not.
At least she has a lot of common sense!
I checked here for her....
Why are these people still allowed to trade?- Caller: Sky (supposedly)
- johnYes I did work for this company about 4 months ago and the reason I left was because of the lack of professionalism and respect this company had towards its customers. After working there for nearly 2 weeks and seeing what they were really about I left. They employ mostly 16-20 year olds and so not bother checking for any criminal background. From working there I have seen workers write people's card details on pieces of paper and leave them lying around. Callers are allowed to use mobile phones whilst working which is highly illegal according to FSA regulations. And the company itself only deals with the odd few of call outs. Out of every 10 callers the company only dealt with one customer when it came to replacing a certain part of the system. And the rest were given excuses. It would be great to see this company gone for good! And yes I have been there when people have said they are from Sky and that they are calling to confirm their card details just to make sure their records are up to date! How dare they. Each sale a caller makes they are given commission of 5 pounds which recently had been reduced to 3.50 pounds. Therefore most callers do whatever they can to make commission and say whatever they like. The owners Shameer and Farah are aware of this and do not do anything about it as they benefit from more sales, meaning more money. They choose to act ignorant. The general manager is also one who ignores these problems. The telephone number is 0870 7777 375..but let me warn you now..even when you do call, most of the admin staff will give a fake name if they suspect they have an angry customer on the phone!
- allen| 1 replyWell! i work in skylite. there is a lot of misunderstanding going on this forum. we are a legitimate company following all the rules and regulations of the trade. our calls are recorded and monitored so there is no way if some one is miss leading the customers and getting away with it. we are professional people and trained to high standards. we have got sky registered engineers which are out there to help out our customers 23/7. there been mistakes in the past but things are getting better now. we make sure that we satisfy our customers by providing the best possible services and assistance available. Black sheep are out and they are snitching now. Right John!
- john| 1 replywell only recently skylite have introduced new computer systems, while since 2006 they have been operating from standard phones. each telesales person had there own phone with a cord to ring customers from a sheet of data. there job is to convince customers that their sky breakdown insurance has expired so they can have their business. most customers agree and go ahead and once they find out they didn't even have one or their current cover hadn't expired the company has already got their money. i did get the oppertunity to work for skylite during the installation of these systems and it amazed me that each telesales operator have the option of stopping call recording during thier call. so if they feel they want do to something "illegal" they can hit the red, square stop record button and it stops all form of recording. how unprofessional is that? iv been in the company even while admin staff are lying about there names. so any bad reports do not get back to them. we need people to go ahead and close this place down! ALLEN IS CURRENTLY STILL AN EMPLOYEE OF THIS COMPANY SO WILL SAY WHATEVER HE NEEDS TO IN ORDER TO COVER THERE BACK. BUT LETS BE HONEST ALLEN WE BOTH KNOW EXACTLY WHAT GOES ON IN THAT COMPANY. SKYLITE AND CONS & ARE ONLY OUT TO BUILD THE FUNDS IN THEIR BUSINESS ACCOUNT. IF YOU DO A MORE IN DEPTH SEARCH ABOUT THIS COMPANY YOU WILL FIND THAT SINCE 2006 SINCE THEY FIRST OPENED THEY HAVE MOVED OFFICES AND LOCATION 3 TIMES!!! I WONDER WHY...MAYBE BEING THE RADAR? IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL FOR ANY BIG COMPANY WHO DEAL WITH PEOPLES BANK DETAILS TO CALL WITH A WITHELD NUMBER, WHICH COMPANY DO YOU KNOW CALLS PEOPLE WITHHOLDING THEIR NUMBER??? ONLY SKYLITE!
