Just been phoned by them, someone with a very ctrong Indian accent. Very clear they were representing Sky, until I suggested I'd be reporting them. Then he was insistent he never said that.
A member of my family works for Sky so I was 100% sure this was a con.

Just got a call from this company. When I said I NEVER gave bank details over the phone, he told me to call him back before 3!
I intended to call Sky (because have just called their insurance helpline over a problem which was dealt with swiftly) but thought I would google it first.
    Thanks for the info.

Wife had call this afternoon form Siddi at Skylite. She was convinced by her that we had been paying £6 a month up until recently and the cover had expired/was about to expire. Convinced her to go for the £60 option. Mentioned it to me when I got home. I confirmed that we'd never had the cover. Got on to Barclaycard who told us that when the charge appears on our account, phone them up and dispute the service provided. They would send us a dispute form and put all the details on it and they would take it up. That's one of the benefits of a Barclaycard, they will be on the consumer side. I felt quite relieved at his calm manner. However, he then tried to sell me ID theft cover which according to many money websites is cover simply not required as the banks will sort this for you. So from, one shark to another!

Then contacted skylite and spoke to Customer services, relaid saga and he told me they would refund it to the account in the morning. If they don't I'll post again! And contact trading standards and dispute the payment with Barclaycard.

Wife says she won't do it again!!!

I have worked at skylite for around 6 months now, having read most of these comments I think the full truth is missing from most of these people, when calls are listen to by the trainers it turns out that the sales agents always introduce themselves as 'skylite ensured ltd' and that they are calling to advise that their sky warranty is expiring or is due to expire and if they wish to take out/and or renew the warranty. Our phone lines are always open between 9am - 9pm and advisors/agents are always on hand to help customers over the phone, via post or email. Skylite works to the correct methods and always looks to treat the customer fairly. I think if you all gave us a chance or had given us a chance then you would find out for yourself. The thing that makes me laugh is that you do NOT always hear the full story, it has always been the same for other companies I have worked for.

i also work for Skylite and have done for a long time. I can proudly say that Skylite is an honest company and the managers are always working their hardest to provide the best service.

Unfortuntely some dishonest and quite frankly degenerate people had worked for Skylite in the past who I can finally say have been thrown back onto the streets where they came from to steal from some other poor souls. The company has even successfully prosecuted members of staff in the interests of their customers, and have eradicated all staff from the company who participated in such practices. Funnyly enough the management team called it the 'disinfectant project'!

All jokes aside the public are not idiots, and though there may be a few complaints there are also thousands of customers who do not complain and instead remain loyal customers to Skylite year on year, as do my other colleagues who are all constantly trained to deliver good customer service. There is a reason why my fellow CURRENT employees praise the company because we are mature adults who know the work is done well and respect the management. You can either take the advice of the minority / ex employees, or whilst bearing in mind that there is a reason they are now ex employees, use your better judgement.

Should the public feel the need to air their thoughts they should follow the proper avenues for a resolution and contact Skylite directly where you will find a good hard working team who are eager to help you, instead of unemployed thieves and liers on this site who probably just want to hack your pc to steal your bank details, but aren't even close to being clever enough.

We have just had to cancel my husband's credit card because of this scam.  £60 was taken from our account and we did not have a telephone conversation with them and therefore agreed nothing at all.  We do not know how they got our card number.  We have since spoken to the Bank, Sky and managed to get hold of Skylite themselves after many failed attempts as you are just left dangling on a line.  They credited the money back after we said we would report them but today 1 month after the so called initial telephone call we have received an 'Agreement' from them. As far as we are concerned, it is definitely a scam - we are in our 60s and don't want to have this kind of worry.

Have been waiting to claim on my warranty with Skylite for just over a month now so I can get my free replacement as I was told when I took it out after I was called, bit cheeky as it has been on its last legs since before I took out the service cover and was a bit hesitant after reading these posts and having allready paid, but I called Skylite Wednesday morning and had an engineer out Tuesday, who replaced the set top box. So im happy. Skyite does what it says! And the box ive got is better than the old one.

Got the call tonight from a man called Hitesh. They were even giving me a quote on a second older box which has never had a maintenance contract.  Refused to give my card details on the phone, they said they couldn't add it to the existing contract and told me I could verify their details on Google.  They called me back after an hour but I told them they had to wait till Monday as I was watching having dinner.  Good job I checked. Thank you.

The story is the same as all other callers. An Indian name (since I originally come from India). No way I was prepared to give my debit card number. They called me once again but FOOLISHLY gave their web site ID. If it is such a big con why even bother to give their ID and get exposed.

Thank you all the reviewers. I will never use them.

Same story - Man with strong Asian accent claiming to be from Skylite wanting my credit card details as my sky warranty due to expire. Very pushy wanted £80 for year cover, £150 for 2 years and £200 for 3 years. Gave this number so I could ring him back in next half an hour and his name was Paul!!! Rang Sky and they are nothing to do with them. On the plus side my warranty had expired so I have renewed with SKY

Got a call form this number at about 8.45 asking about the warranty expiring and trying to get the credit card number. I guess this a a fraoud number trying to get the card numbers as all SKY numbers start with 0844. Called sky and enquired , as he was reluctant to give details when asked about the sent the contract and I would send the payment after getting the contract in post.
