In skylite all the call our recorded and they abide with compliance parameters. Hence an agent can never say he is calling from sky.

Professional liars. Insisted they were from Sky( but hardly mentioned the lite bit. Didn't like being pulled up as not being Sky, didn't like the mention of Watchdog or Moneysavingexpert.com and tried to get me to confirm my name.

My husband received a call on Sunday and was told they were ringing from SKY and our contract was up for renewal which it is. My husband did say he'd renew and was asked for our card details. He said are you efinatly from Sky a few times and was told yes. He started to provide card details and stopped when they asked for the security number and became suspicious and asked why they needed all this when we pay by DD. After being probed they did eventually say they were from Skylite. My husband said under no circumstances did we want their service. However, £8 debited from our a/c today. Having just done a google search found this site and realise this is a total scam. What a bunch of cowboys. How do they get this information re: renewals? I'm reporting to Information Commissioner who regulates Data Protection Act as well as probably illegally obtained information.

They've changed their technical support number to 08449671999. You're given various choices when you ring, but in the end all you have is piped music and no person! Likw a few others, I was taken in, thinking this was Sky. I wouldn't even have checked except I didn't receive promised paperwork. Crafty aren't they taking credit card detils instead of bank details. Have had to cancel card - fortunately, they've only taken £9.00

I have just checked our bank account only to find that skylite have been taking £11.40, from our account. Somedays its once a day, others it is 3 times a day. Needless to say the we are now £300 ish lighter in our account, I have taken it to the bank, thankfully they are going to refund the money and it has been reported to the fraud dept! I cant beleive I have been so stupid

I too got a call from skylite ensured saying my sky protecion was due for renewal, i believed she was calling from sky and agreed to take out the special offer. £60 went from my account but i recieved no paperwork. I called sky who said it was not their company, i rang the numer on my bank statement and a message says the company is now called "satalite ensured" the number has changed to 08448470222 . i actual spoke to someone who said the delay was due to rebranding of the company and her manager would be listening to the recording of my conversation when i was sold the policy. I wait with anticipation to see if i get my £60 back

This is surprising but I never seem to have problems with them.

im sorry but i have to back this company up, it seems like people have made up their minds without even giving them a chance! I have been with Skylite for 3 years, and have just happily renewed by policy again. I actually forgot I was covered with them and having just received my renewal docs thought i'de check to see if i could renew online. You should really put your efforts into findig real scammers, because Skylite definately haven't scammed me. I havent actually renewed yet, but my experiences with them have been fine.

They Cold call, and indeed cold call nos that are TPS listed and shouldn't get them
Imply that they are from SKY themselves
Are pretty vague about service they are supposedly offering
Are very insistant, especially if eldery person answers the call
Take your money really really quickly
Don't answer return calls, frequently change phone nos, emails addresses etc
Change their company name from time to time to evade trouble e.g.
changed the name from SKYLITE ENSURED LTD to SAT LITE ENSURED LTD at the end of July
Don't send out the paperwork
If by some miracle you do get through and try to cancel they let you think you have been successful, still continue to take money AND DON'T GIVE IT BACK

You will have seen my previous posts. I have a monitor set up at Companies House so that I be alerted whenever anything changes re their company etc. Got alerted yesterday that they have formally changed their registered address to the one I documented at Windsor House above. Think they might have swapped director and secretary names too though I didn't ask for that detailed report.
I can only suggest that you phone them AND ESPECIALLY WRITE TO CANCEL. Speak also to Consumer Direct - they know all about them. Cheers.

These fraudsters have got my card details and are taking £9 a month from my credit card account. Is the only way to stop this by cancelling my card?

A bunch of con artist and thieves ...you told me you would take £5 a month and have just took £80 ..so now have no money to feed my kids for the weekend .

i was advised by bank to cancel card incase they took any more money out on reading other threads about this comapany they have took several hundreds out of some accounts

Was just scammed by this group of con artist who told me they were from sky and that it would be £5 a month to insure within a couple of days £90 pound had been taking out. now have had to cancel bank details.

I reccomend not cancelling your card as this is not a legal way to stop any payment and you wioll still be tied in to any agreement.

All companies selling products under the Distance Selling Act will have recording facilities to listen to calls to check for any issues on any sales type calls.

Definitely write to them but make sure you contact the company in writing or at least on the phone.

Cancelling a card will make it worse if you do not contact them

Also been scammed by these low lifes who are taking 6.00 a mth from my account have also had correspondence from SkyLite Ensure but recent bank statements show company name as Sat Lite Ensured - will be contacting Sky and the National Press to get these con artists closed down !!!!!!!!!!

Went I contacted company in writing to cancel my direct debit with immediate effect back in Jan 2011 - thye had the audacity to tell me I could not cancel the arrangement until May 2011 when the cover ended. After seeing the above comments - I am amazed they are still allowed to operate and get away with their lies and deception.
