    Mrs L Walker
ive just had a phone call from a man claiming that his company could recover my illegal bank charges, he wanted my full bank account details and banks name, i assured him that i was not going to be giving him any of this information to which he suggested i check out the website and that he would call back in a couple of hours, once i had satisfied myself that they were legit, it may not be dodgy but i dont have enough money going spare to find out!

Yep - I fell for the call from 'CMS Credit Management' a couple of hours ago! On reflection, and having spoken to my daughter about it I contacted Barclays who immediately looked into it. And yes - it's a scam! The 08717 899 102 was traced by Barclays to Duncan Weston on 0207 367 2820. Give a few days for the investigators to move in, and why don't we all pester him with calls of complaint?!! Incidentally - watch out! - I was told the fee was £49.99, but Barclays have informed me that the actual amount debited from my account today (no doubt to be refunded) was actually £48 or so. So he/they are obviously using a different amount so that we're not alerted! There is a website for CMS Credit Management, but since there's no obvious means of contact it's probably bogus, or they're playing on the fact that a legitimate company exists!

My 80 year old mother received a call to say she had overpaid a standing order and there was £400 to be paid in to her account. She was asked for her bank details and gave them her debit card number.

reading all your messages, felt i shoulds put mine in too, on the 12th jan these people took £49.99 from my account they knew ALL my details, 19th another payment taken, after cancelling my cards, speaking to the police for advice, tracking down all the numbers i had been given by them, thought it was over, 22nd jan i had a letter from the so-called 'cms' all the numbers are crap apart from 1, 01792 464322, which the police had given to me, after having a phonecall from 'cms' they told me they do employ nite staff who make phonecalls at times when the offices are closed, @ assured me that she would immediately go to the accountants office @ get a refund for me which would take 5-7 working days!!!, so after giving her a piece of my mind, nicely of course, i ended the call. However still no refund, again after a week of trying to phone them again, (there was a fault on their line so call wouldnt go through) spoke to them, only to be told i would only be getting 1 refund of £49.99 as that was all i had been charged!! what a joke, i told them if i didnt receive my money back in my account within the next 7 days id be taking legal action, but of course they know theyv got to be found 1st!! & as i live on my own with 2 small children, how can i afford that. This has caused me extreme upset, & tonight has been the final straw, after checking my bank statements the [***] have somehow got my NEW card details & taken ANOTHER £49.99, so im nearly £150 down on money thats not theirs, they are complete robbing gits & those other people that 'claim' they had they bank charges refunded are proberly part of the con gang!! apologise if you are genuine but, i am sure if you were in my situation u too would be gutted, we are on the 25th of feb & im £150 down, please if these guys phone you give them [***] & DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!!

A guy by the name of Shaun Williams, sounded Asian, from this'CMS'called an elderly and rather confused relative on 18th February 2009 offering to refund all her bank charges for £49.99. Was rather surprised when I took the call over and I started asking more indepth questions and that I was trying to trace his company while speaking to him. Gave me the same information as everyone else has which are none existant addresses, phone numbers and web sites. When I said I could trace his company, he hung up! Phoned my relatives bank to warn them of this scam, also her local standard trading office, the police and BT. Lets hope they are caught and put where they will not be a menace to society. DO NOT give out any details on the phone and ring your fraud department of your bankers to warn them of this scam.
The same guy even had the audacity to ring this relative again a few hours later when unfortunately, I had left.

rang my grandmother and basically got her card details and made a charge of £51.75 to her account. I have since cancelled the card and will be informing lloyds TSB they are calling on their behalf. They are hard to understand and are a disgusting bunch of animals for praying on anyone let alone elderly people. I wish I could meet them to show them my displeasure

Same format for my mum. Asian caller claiming to work on behalf of Lloyds TSB and offering to reclaim overcharged credit (£400). The person from CMS had Mums name and address and first 4 of her credit card. They then asked for conformation of card number and security code then of course bingo. Luckily my daughter has contacted Lloyds to freeze the account and cancel the card. She also contacted the Police who already seem aware of the scam. Like everyone else I agree that these people are scum, maybe I will be lucky enough to get their address!!!

Just got a call a few minutes ago.  The whole thing sounded fishy to me.  Wy would any company refund money out of the blues to anyone?  I didn't want to give the mane of my bank, so the woman transfered the call to her verification manager, but he was just as eager as she was to get the name of my bank.  He told me the name of the company was Credit Management System, the address:  CMS Commercial Building, Beverley St. Ft. Talbot, SA131DY.  I googled the name while he was still trying to get info from me, and luckily I got this site.  I hung up. The woman called me back  I hung up again.  The phone is still ringing right now!

Just got the phone call from presumably India, same as other people.  They already had my name and address.  I was passed on to Tony, the floor manager who started to ask more questions about my bank.  I refused to tell him any further details but did drop in the fact I didn't have any bank charges to recover.  He seemed taken aback and hung up on me!  Great way to p*ss them off and hopefully cross my name off their list.  Try it, even if it's a lie!

An amount went out of my bank to this company that I wasn't aware of. I contacted them and was told they would sort it out. Recieved a claim pack instead! Got a call tonight from my old bank saying I had money to come back, she had my old account details so thought she was genuine, gave her my current bank details. I was then transferred to Credit Management Systems and realised what was happening. Checked my balance straight away, money had already gone!!!
Pack sent from Wind Street, Swansea.
