Oh dear.  I guess I am the unpopular one.  I keep getting the phone call, but there is no one on the other end. Even after I urge them to talk.  Then I get an automatic disconnect with that recorded lady who says "If you'd like to make a call......"  Usually once a day for the past couple of weeks.  But if they DO start talking to me, I am prepared to take them on a wild goose chase so long and convoluted, they will rue the day they walked into their call center.  I'm retired and have lots of time to make them miserable.

I got a call from them today and had the same issue. However, me being slightly hungover I wasn't paying attention and allowed for them to control my computer. After realising it to be a scam, I hung up the phone, removed the download they had me to in order to control my PC, and restarted my computer.  Is there anything else I should due in case my computer has been compromised? It is running fine and I do not see any unwanted programs. I have also ran a Virus scan to double check.  If someone could get back to me on this, it would be great.

They make me tape an adress but mon internet does not work, can any way tyhe take my info??..and yes there is market for it..I am stupid. His name is Rio«they toldme was microsoft because they detected my computer sending scam. i belived because my computer es without internet bacause somebody has my IP adress.

Got 4 calls from them first saying my mac computer needs fixing then they said my apple computer the second call then micosoft and what i found interesting was a woman tried to say her name was bob and then steve lmao i forwarded the calls to my so called work phone which happened to be the local RCMP net scam division lmao. didnt get anymore calls until today the usual number is 0000000000.

get your local computer geeks give u a complete overhaul and reformat etc etc then u know for sure they didnt tag a trogan virus or a key logging worm to your computer

I had the same call and when I questionned they told me to call 209-753-4552. Being from Montreal I wanted a French speaking person which they didn't have....not very savvy scammers. How can we further repoprt this to stop them?

I first got a call from these guys last autumn.  Uncertain, I asked some telling questions, such as "from which IP did you receive these notices?"  I mentioned that I had more than one, and more than one computer.  I asked him if he knew which version of windows, because I was running more than one.  He hung up at that point, clearly outmatched.  Then they called around christmas.  I recognized within two phrases and started yelling at him how horrible he was and he ought to be ashamed.  Did the same thing yesterday.  Lately mostly I just don't answer unknown incoming calls at all, but I do notice they're calling me a lot more often.  Clearly they just want to punish me for not falling for the scam.
If they're faking the caller ID, then there is little our government can do but educate us against them.  Pakistan has enough trouble just preventing massacres locally, nevermind a little fleecing of the fat americans.

I have recieved several Calls with in the last hour from 206 456 0661 and dont understand why but souns like they are calling to people at a time

The number has called twice today, their ID on my caller ID comes up as Unassigned. Sounds like a scam. There is no way of blocking this call either. Not to mention I have an unlisted number. FYI, I googled the number and found this page.

Yet again, another call. So far 3 today.

And again....thank God for caller ID and an answering machine!

In California today,  I received 3 calls from this place in under an hour.....This is your garden variety microsoft support scam. Don't fall for it, people. Definitely a call center sending out this call.

They said could I speak to mr. Dunn & they were from windows. I said why would windows be calling & this is not a real call. I said I can take the message. Heard them talking to someone in foreign language & they hung up. Called me in fort mcmurray on jan31 at 2:45pm. These people tick me off. There is quite a few words I'd had in mind to say to them. Definitely a scam

have had this number call me several times over the past couple of weeks.  As I don't answer numbers that I don't know, I just let it ring.....of course, they don't leave a message.  But was happy to read these messages.....I am from Vancouver Island

My parents got 3 of them today luckily I was there for the last 2 so I could have some fun. First one was the standard "Steve from windows" call telling me they have detected issues with my windows system and they would help me repair them. At this point I told him "oh really? You do realize you are speaking with a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (which I am) his reply was "ummmm, oh" and he hung up.

Less than an hour later I got one from "James Smith" with the same MO, so I decided to have some fun. I listened to him and told him I was following all his steps and gave him all the answers he was looking for. Finally he asked me to download a piece of software and after supposedly installing it I said "hmm that's odd, my firewall is detecting a lot of activity coming from 206.135.9.275 (not even a possible ip address) and its resolving back to an ISP in Banglor India... I think I'm going to forward this to the police" at which point I heard him speaking quickly in a foreign language to someone else and then he hung up.

Hopefully they will realize my parents number is not one to mess with

Got a call from this number tonight asking for my dad and said there was a problem with my dad's Windows computer.  My dad is 88 and doesn't even own a computer.  I told them to take our number off their call list and hung up.

The guy had such a heavy accent it was almost impossible to understand what he was saying.  Al I could really understand was my dad's last name and "Windows computer".  Right then I knew it was a scam.

I'm so tired of these calls.  I live in Canada and am on the Do Not Call List.  Contacted the US to see if I could get on their do not call list as that is were most of the calls are coming from (according to call display).  US said no way.  What a crock.

Steven they have called me at least 5 times in the last 3 days. the guy keeps hanging up on me everytime I ask him where he got my number from. The next time they call I am gonna pretend to have a heavy spanish accent and see how far he take his scam ha ha ha... #GottaLoveAPayBack

This number has called a couple of times during the past week.  I tend not to answer unknown numbers and it went straight to the answering machine,  They didn't leave a message.  I decided to google the number to see what turned up and I found this forum.  I noticed that most of you live in the US and Canada but I live in the UK...so it looks like they are spreading their net wider.  Anyway thanks for the heads up on their Microsoft Support scam.

This number calls me 2 - 3 times daily and implies that they are from Microsoft and there is supposedly a problem on my pc

They call all the time but today I answered the call.  They reported my computer was sending out error messages with my software and they could fix it if I logged in my computer.  Told them my son worked for geek squad and my computer was fine and hung up.  I am thinking next time they call to tell them I developed a program that allowed me to access their computer through the phone line and that I am currently hacking all their hard work as well as their personal information.  I will thank them for breeching their information and hope their boss won't fire them for screwing up.
