I got onetoday she knew my name and my sons name and said it was regarding him.

8/26/09 - Received call on cell phone from assistant at Law Offices of Attorney Thomas Landis to pay debt from 8 years ago. I requested a letter be sent, assistant stated a letter was sent "earlier in the week". I had not received such letter.

9/8/09 - Received letter in the mail (unsigned) from Law Offices of Thomas Landis to collect. No validation notice was included.

9/14/09 - I sent letter requesting them to cease and desist in efforts to collect.

9/18/09 - Received phone call on cell with voice message from Linda McCoy requesting to call them at 800-853-4000.

9/18/09 - I filed a complaint with the FTC and PA Attorney General.

I got a very urgent sounding call from a pleasant sounding woman begging for a call back about a specific case # and asked for my ex-husband.  Now, I would love to sick an attorney on my ex but even I wouldn't send these guys to his new #.  Interesting thing is we've been divorced for about 13 years.  They appear to just call around to all people with the same last name.  Scammers!!!!!

i received a call from a Steve Parker from Thomas Landis Esq. He asked for my cousin, and gave me an extention & reference number for her to call back with. My cousin is 10 years old, I wonder what this phone call is about?? Is this law firm legitimate or is it a scam?

i haven't worked in five years.  i am being harassed by thomas landis to pay a bill.  what am i suppose to do.  rob a bank.  i have no income.  i live by the grace of god.  i am in poor health and can't work.  i can't get disability.

Yes, Mr. Landis is an attorney with a disciplinary past.  I would not respond to that office.  If they become abusive, report them to the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  Save all recordings of their voice mails and log the dates and times of calls, as they may be known to engage in hang-ups as well.  He also has a history of FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) litigation against him.

We got this phone call on a cell phone that NOBODY has the number to OR ever calls except my wife and daughters.....My wife answered said phone and they wouldn't tell her anything and was horribly rude to black lady...I called back and asked the person who they wanted...and why they called....they didn't know...but wanted me to tell them MY NAME...we have had this cell number for years...and like I say don't give it out..

Voicemail from "Belinda McCoy" at the Law Office of Attorney Tom Landis.  Asked for my husband (by name) or Mrs. (our last name) requesting a call back immediately to 800-853-4000.  My husband's brother has a 10 year old debt that every bottom-feeding collection agency calls *US* to pass messages to him.  Assume that is what this one was for as well; did not return the call.

I got a letter in the mail from Thomas Landis,Esq..about a week ago.I called them and asked what it was about and they said it was about a credit card I NEVER had. They contacted my brother-in-law(who's number is unlisted)to reach me.They are telling me Ihave to come up withat least half of what I supposely owe.I've heard from them on 9/29/09,9/23/09.Someone should catch these people before someone else gets taken.

Joking about your outstanding debts is not going to make them disappear!! I am here to help, I purchase debts at an extremely reduced price, charge a small fee and pass the savings to you.  Are law firm will proceed with charges though rather than take a loss on these debts.

I just had a call from Atty. T landis 215-642-3400 asking for someone who does not live here.

He then asked if this was 809-blah-blah, I said no and hung up..

Funny thing is i just received an e-mail about 809 area codes and how it is a scam from the oversees and DO NOT call these #'s as you will be billed $$$$ for the call, this 809 is also a scam.

A gentleman named Steve Harper called from Thomas Landis Law office...left a message saying "I need to talk to you about something that will affect you"...then they called my office number, don't know how they got that...said they have been trying to reach me for "some time".  Their version of contacting me was calling from a 1-800 number and leaving a recorded message, not identifying who they were or what they wanted, only that I call them back.  I called the number once, and it said it was Landis Law office, but they were closed.  I'm clueless as to how they got my office number...but I know from reading all these reports that these people are true scumbags...don't even bother answering when they call

Got a call today from 215-642-3400. The person on the other end was claiming to be from a law office. T.Landis... They wanted personal information. Bank accounts numbers. Credit Card numbers. Social Security number. He made me feel very uncomfortable. I asked why he needed this information but ignored my questions time and time again. I told him to take me off the call list and to never call my number again.

I feel violated.... Very scary stuff.. Be careful out there people.

This "company" called a few months ago about an old long gone credit card. Because I am looking to buy a house soon AND against my better judgment, I made payment arrangements, but not after being transferred to a rude woman who raised her voice when I told her I could not make a payment that day on the phone or set an amount because I was driving and unable to go through my finances. Another "representative" called back after this woman hung up on me.
After 2 payments, I had several things happen to me financially and called to make other arrangements. The man I spoke to was rude, cursed at me and raised his voice, while I remained calm, which seemed to make him more irritated. He rudely told me to get a lawyer and hung up. Because of his response, I blocked their payments from my bank account, and now they are calling every day. I'm glad I decided to look up this "Law Firm" before dealing with them any farther, and I'm glad I have their transactions blocked now.
By the way, when they took out money, their company name given to my bank was APM Financial.

The "Law offices of Tom Landis" is either a scam artist or a bottom-feeder.  But, they will harrass you, demean you and call you a liar.  DO NOT call them back, DO NOT give them ANY information.  Make them tell you the SSN they have for you rather than giving them your SSN.  I've been harrassed by them since August regarding a supposed loan my father took out in 2005- problem is that my dad was already deceased by then!  I tried to kind to four different individuals who called but after they got aggressive, so did I.  They use scare tactics and aggression.  I think they just do a random internet search to find some name associate with a real debt or fabricate a debt and then they hunt you down and try to take you down.  BEWARE!  These guys are utter scum bags!

I absolutely hate these guys!!!! They are so rude, insulting, degrading, etc.........and these would be the kindest words that I could think to describe them!!!!! I get phone calls and voice mails at all hours of the day by what sounds like a partially def man and another with a shady vernacular which are demanding and apparently require MY IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!!!! In the event that I am actually foolish enough to give them the time of day, they have been nothing less than unprofessional and once more insulting!!! I have been hung up on more than THREE TIMES and when I do speak with a so called attorney or representative I am asked to send a check or some sort of payment by phone in which my response was "I will not send any sort of payment by telephone, please send your full information and tax id by mail, at which time they responded with YOU KNOW WHO WE ARE" They will not get a cent from me!!!!!!!!!!!! Who are they and why do they harass me 50+ times per week??? I am done with, and sick of them!!! I hope they are reported to the authorities, this cannot be in anyway legal!!!
