Report a phone call from 224-222-5000 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- SubTankThis is a valid CHASE Bank call. There were fraudulent transactions and they were following up on my inquiry. (I think some people are a bit paranoid claiming everything is phony). There are banks calling to follow up on legitimate issues.
- Caller: Chase Bank (for an Amazon card)
- MarylandThe previous poster (SubTank) goes around to these websites trying to legitimize the calls. Things must be tough in the phishing world these days.
- Caller: CHASE
- mattThis is a scam. Chase does not acknowledge this phone number and there is no issues with my accounts.
- Joe| 1 replyFirst, let me state that I am a cyber security professional and I am trained to identify online scams. For those of you who have stated that this is a phishing scam, where is your evidence? It is irresponsible to urge others to ignore a call from their credit card providers Fraud Dept. If you get a call from this number, and you doubt the identity of the caller, I strongly urge you to simply call Chase via the number on the back of the card. Do not risk being victimized based on the opinions of uninformed message board responders.
- Caller: Chase Fraud Services
- A scam replies to JoeOne of the best shill posts ever, Joe. You obviously need to be retrained!
- Lauree| 2 repliesgot a call from this number claiming they were the Fraud Dept from Chase. I hung up and called the number on the back of my chase card where I was told there was no fraud on my account -they connected me with the fraud department to be sure- and when I told Chase the telephone number they said it wasn't from them, it's not one of their numbers.
- Caller: NOT Chase
- vincent replies to Lauree| 1 replyI too was skeptical so I hung up and called the # on the back of my card...To my surprise they were really trying to reach me about fraud on my account
- chillipepperGot a call this afternoon from the same number to which i didnt respond as it looked suspicious, called chase and inquired and to my surprise they acknowledged this as a phishing number and went on to state that chase would always call from 1800 or 1888 or 660 number , they did transfer me to dispute team as i had a dispute open and they confirmed they were trying to reach me but not from this number.
- A Scam replies to vincentAnother shill post. Anyone who calls from this number about fraud that turns out to be true is responsible for it. Chillipepper's post has the truth about this number.
- Legit| 1 replyI too got a call from this number and a voicemail was left that it was from Chase Fraud Prevention Dept. I returned the call using the number on the back of my Chase card. There was indeed a good reason for them to call me. So calls from this number is legitimate. I hope when Chase makes these calls, they use a better identifiable caller ID than using 224 area code or they prominently list numbers of their Fraud Prevention dept on their website.
- A Scam replies to LegitAre you ill, Legit? Here is the Chase web page for reporting fraud--https://www.chase.com/resources/report-fraud And as all of us non shill posters know, this number is not on it. Just in case you haven't been able to access the Chase web page, the fraud number for Credit Cards is 1-800-432-3117.
- Tkay| 1 reply224-222-5000 IS A SCAM CALL. I just called the number on the back of my Chase card 888-682-3297. They verified that they would not be calling from the 224#. This is a phishing/ scam call. I asked if they needed any further info from the card that was stolen. They told me because I received that call, they will add this to the investigated stolen card because it may be the same people wanting to hack into my accounts again.
- A Scam replies to TkayI couldn't agree more as the same thing happened to me. The person who called and knew all the details about the fraudulent charge was the person who made it. That is why I will respond to any shill post as whoever makes the claim that this number is legitimate is part of the scam gang.
- Lisa| 1 replyI came on here to say that it was a legit number, but after reading how vehemently everyone called it a scam, I decided to call Chase directly and the confirmed that they had NOT called me in regard to that card today and that it was very possibly a phishing scam. The call I received left a voice mail telling me to call them back at 866-582-7130 ext.15672 so I did, everything seemed legit, and they didn't ask me for any information (which should have been my first red flag). They said it was in regard to my old closed account and the disputed charge we had with Fedex. They asked if I had a shipping account with Fedex then asked if I minded if they put me on hold to get Fedex on the line. After 5 minutes on hold, I hung up. So they didn't get any real info from me, but if I hadn't bothered to google the number, I would probably have been fooled. Definitely fake.
- A Scam replies to LisaGood honest post, Lisa. If you also Googled the 866-582-7130 number you found that it is a scam just like this one. The posts there also follow the same pattern as for this number--honest posts about a scam followed by a shill post saying the number is legitimate. I assume many of the shill posts are sent by the same person who is obviously one of the scammers.
