This is Chase. They called, and asked me to verify charges. They did not ask me for ANY info at all, simply read me all my latest charges and asked me if they were real or not. Two were false charges, but 1 came up as being used a a physical location, not online, so they said someone must have my credit card info and typed it in manually on a CC machine to make the charge. They asked if I wanted to close that CC number and get a new one. I verified. They then transferred me to an automated recording about what to do while waiting for the new card in the mail. When I hung up I immediately called the number on the back of my card, and the automated system said the account was closed and a new card is on the way. I think this is legit.

An update from my above post.

Definitely Real. I called the number on the back of my card, worked my way though the automated system until I could talk to someone and they verified everything, and said their system showed that someone from the fraud department called me, etc, etc.

The people saying this isnt a scamqabove on here ARE the SCAMMMERS. It's definately a scam. Here's the only way to ever return phone calls from banks and credit card companies. Call the number on the back of your credit cards period. There is NEVER any other numbers to call. This is for security purposes and to protect you. NEVER and I repeat NEVER call any other number for any info on your card or bank acct wether it be "fraud calls" or not. The credit card companies will tell you to NEVER call anywhere about your card besides the number on the back of that card. I called the back of my card to ask about this call? They told me it was a scam. The people above who are saying its NOT a scam are lairs just like the person who made the initial call to you. What? You dont think they are smart enough to know people look here to see if its real? Don't be fooled by those fake posts above. these calls are Phishing scams trying to get your personal information so they can sell it to identity thieves. Friking lying scammers!

it was indeed from Chase. I did not trust the call at the beginning, so I called the number on the back of my credit card.
The lady over the phone confirmed they actually called. It was about an online purchase they found suspicious.

Had a missed call from this number on my work phone.  No message left.  Some of these posts may claim this is a legitimate call from Chase; but, I do not have a Chase bank or credit card account, have had this same work number for 11 years, have never had a Chase bank or credit card, and have had other missed calls from this number on this line.  Don't know why they would be calling me more than once if this was a legitimate call from their fraud department.  And, unless this is some sort of robocall, why did they not leave a message.

They call me all the time and want personal information.  I just ask the girl what color underwear she has on.  Then I very politely tell them to lick my balls.

Totally legit number.  It was Chase fraud wanting me to call them back at 800-955-9060.  I indeed had fraudulent activity and they confirmed with me the last activity I had before the fraud and the address where they were going to send a new card.

I just received a call from this number. I returned the call and spoke with a nice lady who asked for my full SSN. I asked if they offered another way to verify my identity and she calmly asked for my phone number, full name, current address, and mother's maiden name. I provided this information and my SSN was never required.

I called and spoke with Chase this morning and confirmed that the following numbers do not have ANY affiliation with them at all. Also they have noted my account that these calls are coming and are monitoring my account. He also put in a request to have their fruad dept begin an investigation. The next time they called I picked up and they for a person that was NOT me, she claimed she would remove my number from the system.

I also called back each number to be put on their DO NOT CALL LIST the recording says it will take 30 days and that they are telemarketers. I am also reporting them to the FTC.

The numbers that have called so far.
    224-222-5000
    224-699-6000
    847-488-6050

If you call Chase they will be able to enter the numbers into their system and verify right then and there.

Got a phone call 2 days ago.  Some of you all say it's from Chase.  We do have a Chase-affiliated account, but they don't have my phone number, so no way they would call me because of that.  No one answered when I picked up (only did so because I have family in Illinois), didn't leave a message.  I go with Scam....

Got a call from 224-222-5000 but did not answer.  Message was from Chase Fraud Alert Center.  Instead of calling the number back, I called the number on the back of my Chase card and Chase verified that yes, this call did come from the Fraud dept.  Chase then asked me to verify a recent transaction.  Echoing the good advice of earlier posts, when in doubt, call the credit card company directly using a number you recognize, but don't just ignore the possibility of fraud.

Received a voicemail from a very fast-taking woman who left 866-582-7130 x 15927 return number claiming to be Chase fraud department. I called the number on the back of my Chase card and the guy said Chase DOES NOT use 866 numbers. I then called the 866 numbers, and wouldn't you know, there's only a recording asking you to leave information. I called Chase back using the number on my card and gave them the 866 number and the extension.
So if you want to believe the posts here that these calls are actually Chase, good luck to you.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE JERKS. IT IS FRAUD. I JUST TALKED TO CHASE FRAUD DIVISION IN LENGTH AND THEY SAID THEY ARE WORKING ON TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE. IF YOU DO GET A CALL, YOU SHOULD CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR CREDIT CARD AND REPORT IT TO THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT.
