Got a call from this number (224-222-5000), immediately rejected the call because I'm skeptical of numbers I don't know. Called chase's number (1-800-432-3117) https://www.chase.com/credit-cards/customer-service and they did confirm for me it was legitimate. Apparently it had something to do with my new chase credit card I applied for about 3 days ago. The operator helped me and told me to just call the activation number when I get my credit card in the mail when I'm activating the card to resolve any issues. Seems legit.

Real call from Chase Fraud Department.
They called me tonight and left a voicemail. I called them back at the number on my Chase card.
They advised me that some place called "moneybookers ltd" had attempted to process a $650 charge on my card, followed by another place called "Lyle & Scott" for $187 and change.  I've never heard of either of these companies.  Chase has denied the charges, cancelled my card and is sending a replacement via UPS next day.

    THANK YOU CHASE !!

I have received at least 2 calls from 224-222-5000. They leave me the 866 number to call back to verify my information. I called the phone number on the back of my Chase card and he did confirm that THIS IS NOT CHASE. THIS IS A SCAM! I honestly HATE low life scum like this that use their time to scam people who go to work everday and pay their own bills. They are the lowest form of life and don't deserve to be among the human population. I hope Karma comes back on them BIG TIME!! Please DO NOT believe the people posting that this is an actual phone number from Chase. They are part of the scam.

I was still nervous about calling a number back that wasn't on my card, so just called the number FROM the card. Gal answered and was very nice-confirmed that 800-955-9060 IS the Chase Fraud Dept and everything was legit. So, as others have said, yes, it is legit, however I'd still call the number on the card ANY time...

You all freaked me out with this one. I got 2 calls in a row with no message left. I checked this page and saw some of you saying it was phishing. I got an email from Chase today saying they were checking on some activity on my card. I called the number on the email and it definitely was Chase checking on some weird charges on my card. They only asked for my last 4 #s of my ssn. It's all good people - this is the real deal from Chase. Glad they're checking on my stuff!

It is a SCAM, some liars posting above said they verified this number with Chase, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, they are liars and try to scam you!

They have another number begin with 866 something, called by the same person named Jolie.

My credit card got stolen when I was in Japan, I called Chase International to replace my card, then when I was back in the US and stop using my old card for months, I received the call from these SCAMMERs. I think they just stole your card first, and tried to get more information from you.

Never trust the number you couldn't recognize, always call the number on your card's back

It's not a scam. It is really Chase. Do not panic. You do not need to call the number back.  Just call the number on your Chase card and ask for the Fraud Department. I get a call from them every time my husband goes out of town as they want to check and make sure it's us using the card and it hasn't been stolen.

I stated that this was a prank call, but am not certain, so my 2 cents on this is below.

Got a couple of calls on my parked Skype number:

    (301) 861-3128
    (224) 222-5000

Don't trust either of them, so I'm not calling them back. Recommend that if anyone receives a call saying that it has anything to do with a credit card, get the operators either name, or operator identity number, and then call the phone number on the back of your credit card, and ask for either that person by name, or operator identity number. That's the only way to assure that you're actually speaking with the credit card company, and not some scam artist.

The 866-582-7130 number was confirmed by a Chase fraud protection specialist who I reached by calling the number on the back of the card and asking to transfer to the fraud dept. Some Chase CSR may not know this number but it doesn't mean it is fraudulent. But call the Chase customer service number anyway and ask to get patched to the fraud dept.

    This number is not legit.

I received a voicemail from 224-222-5000 today from a caller claiming to be from the Chase fraud department.  While they knew my name, cell phone, and had the right type of credit card, they referenced the wrong last 4 digits of my credit card number.  Chase would not reach out to customers with inaccurate informtion.

In addition, I called Chase directly using the number on the back of my card where they verified that there were no holds, security alerts, or suspicious activities on my account.

Whether you feel this is a scam or not, be careful and always dial the number directly from the back of your card to be certain you are talking to a legitimate person.  It's scary enough knowing that the caller had as much information about me as they did.  Don't help them out by giving them more.

This is Chase Fraud Dept!!!!!!!!! Just got off the phone with them after calling the number on back of card. The CSR that answered was from the fraud dept. They were notifying me that quite a number cc numbers were stolen and that mine was one of them. At this point Chase is sending me another card just a different number on it. If you have received a call from this number at least call the number on the back of your card and verify the call. The fraud CSR did not know the number that called this is probably due to them having dozens of numbers for outgoing lines that are not published to all CSR's

Got call from "Chase Fraud Dept" man talking had a thick foreign accent which American Chase wouldn't have.  Told him that if this was Chase then have someone who spoke English as their first language to call back - and hung up on them.  Have yet to receive any further calls.  Called the actual Chase Fraud Dept from they web site Credit Card Customers (Personal) 1–800–432–3117.  Turns out that this is from the Fraud Dept in the Philippines "outsourced" per service rep that I dealt with.  Some third party tried to access my creditcard and Chase wanted to confirm it. They are replacing the card with new one and made sure of what was on card.  My suggestion is to call the number on the back of your credit card and not deal with this outsourced dept.
