Was contacted by Ryan Scanlon on Match a few days ago.  He is listed as SolidMan4889 and says he lives in Chardon OH.  He wanted to take the communication off line immediately.  Gave his email as Solidman4889@blumail.org but when I got an email back from him it came from ryanscanlon@live.com.  He gave me a phone number of 6574644662.  He also looks greek or italian.  Nice looking man.  Says he is in London working and will be back in a few weeks.  He wants to meet then.  Yeah, sure, I'll do that!  He was suspicious to me right away because his profile was long and his emails were very long.  Talked all about what a great person he is.  He quotes Maya Angelou.  Haha.

I reported him to Match today as suspicious.

By the way, don't lose heart.  I have meet several nice men on Match and still talk with many of them.  I am seeing one in particular now.

Barbra, I just read your post from Dec. 14, 2011 concerning a Ryan Scanlon.  He is still at it!!  We began chatting and that's when I became suspicious.  Did some checking and it led me to your post.  Thanks for letting others know, like myself.  He left me his number to text him but there is no way I am going to do that.  Seriously makes you wonder where all the REAL men are!

Mine is almost exactly the same only hisname was Tonio Lucas. Said his mother died and the funeral was in Palamero Italy. His father and son killed. Said he was a widow and had grieved for 10 years and his daughter put him on the website to help him get out and start a new life,He said he  was a fund mgr for Vanguard Intl. He was supposed to meet me one weekend when the deal he was working on for Vanguard required him to fly to UK to have investors sign.  Unfortunately, I did believe him. I'm really embarrassed about how I could have fallen for his story.  Well, I do know. He sounded so sincere and we talked everyday for months"  Feb to July.  Unfortunately, I didn't see these posts in time. If authorities would like to look at bank transfer, I'd be happy to show them. I would like to report it to a higher level, I now believe he's involved in high thousands based on the reports.   I'm just not sure who to go to. If anyone knows, please advise

I've gotten the exact story. He kept me going for months before asking for money.  If you are still in contact with him, please see if you can get some kind of authority involved. He has scammed the high thousands from what I am now seeing on various posts.

This guy contacted me. His name is Steve Caldari. Wonderful e-mail made me feel special. First request to go on personal e-mail communication. Next thing is he's going to be gone for five days to a seminar in Texas. Sent a great picture of him and his dog. Tried to find out more about him and stumbled onto this site. Thank you ladies for posting all that you have. Amazing, everything you've said was exactly, word for word, what he e-mailed me. Saved me from a broken heart early. Thanks again!

I am amazed by reading all of these posts.  Edward Salvatore contacted me mid-July through Match and the story is the same... Funds manager for Vanguard, "Mum" died in Italy, Aunt in a coma, Father and son killed in car accident, daughter lives in Italy with Aunt and mom, etc.  It seemed suspicious from the start but just today, I received a very lengthy e-mail from Dubai where he started laying his trap.  Not asking for money of any personal financial information yet - just the following:

"The good part is that the business agreement will not require your signature. It does not require your social security number. It does not require your bank detail. It does not require your passport or photograph. It only requires your name and address in-case the company decides to send the original Copy of investor certificate to you, so that it does not go to a wrong address. You can even give a P.O Box which is still okay if you have. It does not require anything that will commit you or anything serious just a name to represent me. This is all and why I need your address. This has always been the wish of my mum. Please help me do her wish. Do it for me and for mum.
Honey, while I was accepting this proposal, I only have you in my mind as the only partner that I can trust to use her name and address in the business .This will also give us the opportunity to make our business trips together when the time comes after I must have retired from active work and have established my business partnership with this Oil Moguls. Honey, I will appreciative if you keep this proposal private and to yourself for now until we are sure of it. This is presently for your ears alone and I know that I can trust you to keep any information I give you private when I asks you to."

Wow, what an idiot!  It wasn't until I received this e-mail today that I "goggled" his name and found this site.  Thank you all for your posts and head's up!  Just need to decide whether to continue to toy with him or just block everything!

Waste his/their time. There is a whole group of these guys in Nigeria who make a living off scamming lonely men and women. The longer you can keep him/them spinning to your game via emails, the less time they have to scam someone else who is unsuspecting.

Ladies, this guy's emails are exactly like the emails being sent to a dear friend of mine in NJ.  She is an older, retired lady who just divorced a millionaire.  If you do a google search for Enzo Benedetto you'll probably find he is the same exact guy with the same manipulative things to say.

Edward Salvatore is the name my scammer used.  Would you mind sending me your e-mail and I'll send you the pictures he used with me?  I would also like to see the pictures he used with you.  I tried posting them on here and the pictures won't post.  I'm just curious to see what pictures he used.  I'm still toying with him and he is getting very desparate since I haven't answered back....

I have been corresponding with Enzo Benedetto for several weeks. I stopped answering him and has still sent two more emails. Same story widower for 10 yrs, daughter put him on match.com  (who I cannot  seem to find a contact address for them either - maybe their scammers too!), son and Dad killed in car accident. Fund manger for Vanguard Investment International who immediately had to go to Texas then Kent England then to Italy to see his sick Mother.  He fell in love with me immediately and wants to marry me.  Says he lives in Brigantine NJ.  Stopped returning his emails.  The number he gave me to call was 940-238-1788.

Never asked for money yet, so I am luck!

OMG! I have been SEARCHING for something on this creep! Almost word for word he has told me as he has told all of you!  I met him on match.com and he told me the same things... except his name is Cristiano D'Angelo. I got suspicious when I couldn't find anything about him on the internet or related to his work at Vanguard Internatinal Invesements. I even looked for his daughter, Sofer, on Facebook, who lives in Italy, with his mother, and his daugther wants to be a pilot since she was 7 years old!!!  He was in Texas and then closed the 'deal' with Vanguard and had to fly to Kent, England for 12 days and cannot wait to see me when he flies into the airport! I finally checked again the Vanguard website to see if he was truly related in some way to the business, and I found this blog!!! Boy, am i glad I did. I knew there was something fishy from the very first email and I usually do not give out my personal emal when someone on match.com asks for it because 'there memebership is ending." BS! I asked him why he couldn't spend anoher month on match if he really wanted to communicate with me. Then when he kept telling me how I am so caring and he's falling in love with me, and I have come into his life because his dying wife said, "go find what makes you happy". ARRGGGHH... ! I knew he was a scammer of some kind and a creep. I kept  asking him, how in the world can you say you are falling in love with me, and care for me so much when YOU HAVEN'T EVEN MET ME!!! Of course, he never answered those questions!! When I called him out on why his match.com profile said Boston, he said his daughter signed him up and she must have been there when she got him the match.com membership! I asked him where in NJ he lived in NJ and he said Trenton!! Ok, right. You're a wealthy, international successful business man, world traveler, and YOU LIVE IN TRENTON, NJ???!!!  Yes, yes, his son and father died in a car accident in California. Same old story... SO GLAD I CAME ACROSS ALL YOUR EMAILS!! TRUST your gut instincts ladies!! DO NOT TRUST HIM OR ANYONE LIKE HIM NO MATTER HOW LONELY YOU THINK YOU ARE!!! There really are NICE guys out there, and I've met quite a few of them on match.com. Tell this guy to go take a hike!!!!

This guy is a piece of work and a real jerk.  He is still going by Antonio Mario Garcia and his mom is alive in Italy with his daughter Diane.  I have never given him my phone number because he sounded fishy to begin with.  Thanks for this site to nail these predators.  I am very thankful. I won't be emailing him anymore.

I have also been emailing Antonio Mario Garcia for the past few weeks.  What a scammer!  He uses the same story.  He told me he works for Capital Fund Investments as a consultant, currently in Wichita Falls, TX on some business deal.  Right!  The phone number he gave me just today was 940-238-3836.  I didn't intend to ever call him because what he wrote seemed awfully suspicious.  Wish we could nail the guy and put him out of business.  I am sorry for anyone who sent him money.

Oh my - this email is verbatim what I got from this guy - now calling himself "Pedro Lucas" - email lucaspedro43 @yahoo.com.  I was very cautious - never shared my name or personal phone and thank heavens I was so suspicious!  I did some research and found out he is a scammer - and has fooled a LOT of women.  He never got a cent from me, so I am not sure I can turn him in for just being a scumbag.

Beware ladies - this match.com scammer is still around and still playing on older ladies romantic needs...he goes by many names - the latest is Pedro Lucas. Also Mario Elber Lucas, Mario Valentine and a host of others. His story is pretty consistent from what I have read on other fraud sites - he says he is a Vanguard Fund consultant or manager working out of the UK or Texas, has a dead wife, a daughter and mother in Italy, has very poor grammar and a huge romantic streak - declarations of endearing love and "you are my one and only" stuff - eventually asks for your personal email and phone number saying he is leaving the site soon. All the earmarks of a scammer. He will eventually worm his way into your pocketbook with amazing stories of incredible deals and requests for fund transfers. Be smart - be wise - and be cautious. Match.com is generally a good site, but you need to use good sense. Guys our age are rarely that romantic - seriously. Do your due diligence -- Google his name if he gives it. Never give out personal information - including your last name and phone number - until you can verify he is for real. Always ask to meet in a very public place - and bring along a girlfriend who can watch from afar.

Me? I am 64 and still looking...but I can spot a fraud when I see one!

This is exactly what has happened to me. I met Edward Vincenzo on Match.com. The same information, phone numbers, and pictures. He asked for my name and address, which I did not give. He has not called me back. I want everyone else to know about this scam. I have been tryng to get a hold of Match.com because I think that all women should know what they are up against, so it will not happen again.
