gov't health survey  --  how can the clinic i go to give my number to the gov't when because of hipa my sister ( a nurse ) isn't allowed to view my records but complete strangers want to ask me questions about my medical information

no message no call back #  Did a search and it looks like a medical survey.  i never call any numbers back that i do not recognize.

This is a number for quality control for hospitals and clinics. It is not a hippa violation for them to have your number. They don't have any information about your visit other than that you were there. This particular survey is routine and it really really helps the medical facilities if they ha e good scores. The grants and funding that hospitals get is based off this survey. They are just very general questions. Please please complete the survey. They are NOT telemarketers.

I too have received several calls from the 301-575-9366 number, and I got fed up. I did a  little research and found out they're called HealthStream Research Services, and call to do a survey if you have recently been in the hospital.  

They called me twice within 5 mins of each other.  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know and they don't leave a message.

I believe they can call you because you have a relationship with the health provider and they are not selling anything.  They are asking specific questions about your experience.

Your provider hires these people and they don't share specifics what you had done.  They just say you were seen at the ER, Dr, or Hospital.

If you have an in stay visit they may ask about the food, cleanliness, etc.  Completing the survey will provide useful information.  Hopefully they will use the info.

Called me 2/7/15...saying they were conducting an questioner from Stillwater Medical....was this a good time and I said no....they hung up....

I answer just saying , "FTC, This is officer Tomlinson we have a Federal trace on your number 301-575-9366 Could u please hold the phone please?

Said this is a reverse call-up number company.Evidently someone is trying to find out from my number who I am.

These people called me as well, mispronounced my name when asking for me. I hung up on them, and searched the number on Google, which brought me to this site. The contact number given here in one of the posts for their main offices WORKS. The woman who answered the Maryland line told me she would forward my number to the computer administrator for removal.

If it doesn't work, I will use the addresses given in the same post, and maybe mail them some poop.

When I get such calls I speak in a foreign language or dialect then I start getting louder and louder and sound frustrated that I don't understand, they then hang up. It's kinda fun if you're not busy and I've not received call backs from many of the offenders. If the caller has a foreign accent then you must use a different one or they may speak back to you in that language.

Received a call today from (301) 575-9366 and when I answered they hung up on me. After reading some of the posts here, I called the number back, but there was no connection, and all I got was dead air. I called (301) 575-9300 and told them someone from their company called and hung up on me. She said I should wait for them to call again, as she would not know who it was that called. I told her since they hung up on me, I wouldn't get any information from them anyway. I asked to be put on their 'do not call list,' she said yes, took my number down and that was that.

HIPAA allows for your information to be used for "case management and quality improvement" purposes.  This would fall under QI, if it's legitimate.
