Report a phone call from 302-731-1166 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- StacyI received a call from this number, they left a message regarding a specific purchase I made the night before (Black Friday) confirming the purchase and to please call them back to confirm. I'll respond back with my final verdict. I will not give out my card number but will confirm my purchase!
- sinchanI got a call from this number, couldn't take it at the time and later called back.(In the meantime I have read the comments on this website). When I called back, I was put on a longish wait, then I spoke to someone who demanded "my credit card number" without giving any details of any kind. I started asking him some questions and he disconnected. Quite obviously a frud attempt, i think. Noone from the Bank will ask you for your full credit card number. They will ask last 4 digits and use other personal info to verify. I called the bank and they said this was a fraud attempt.
- leoFor me, the number was indeed from BoA, alerting me about irregular activities. But I didn't answer it; I called the number on the back of my card and confirmed that there are fraud charges in my card, and verified that 302-731-1166 is legit.
- Caller: BoA
- MichelleThey called my cell phone - and hung up.....
- Caller: ????
- ggI didn't verify, but it looks like it was BofA indeed: I made a large payment with my credit card (way out of my normal spending range), and they blocked the charge on a fraud suspicion. I saw a call from 302-731-1166 on my cell, but no message left. They also emailed me. I called the bank to confirm the charge, right after that I got another call from the same number, no message again.
It is very odd why wouldn't they leave any message, but the security is very impressive anyway, I'm happy with my BofA!- Caller: 13027311166
- phiaI got 2 calls from this number a few hours apart which I did not answer. After reading this blog I checked my BoA account immediately and found that my account had been frozen. I called the number on the back of my card and was given 4 different charges on my card that were not mine (from napster.com... and from 'telemarketing services'.. i've never used napster and don't respond to telemarketers). They verified the last charge I actually did make and told me that any charge after that I would not be held responsible for and that my card has been canceled. They are now sending me a new card. I asked how my number was attained and the rep said I will receive written confirmation of how they think my card may have been compromised. Although it does seem sketchy, if this number calls, it is legit. Thank you BoA.
- JerryCalled twice. Picked-Up second call and it was a typed message telling me that there have been fraudulent charges on my credit card. Even gave me the last four didgets of my BofA card then asked me to enter my Social Security number.
No go with me.....THIS IS A SCAM.......They need to be shut down. Called BofA and spoke with a real rep. and they confrimed that this is not legit. Hang Up and report them. - Andrea LaxtonI received a call last evening from this number. I hung up and called the number on the back of my credit card. There was no problem. Seems to me this is a scam?????

- ESJust made 2 small (less than $10 each) purchases on line with my BOA card and my cell phone rang while I was on another line. Call was from this number but I couldn't answer it. Had no idea who it was from so I checked here and it appears it could have been from them but why would they call me like that about such small charges? They didn't leave a message either. I'm not calling them back and if the orders are not processed through it's no big deal. I have my account marked to inform me or check for large purchases but they have never called about anything before.
- CherityI got 2 calls from this number on my answering machine and then received an email from BoA giving me a fraud alert. It gave a website and a phone. I went to the website but became suspicious when it asked for my card number, S.S. number, mother's maiden name, and account password. So, I then called Customer Service using the number on the back of my credit card and found it was completely legit messages from BoA's Fraud Alert Department. (It turned out to be my purchases, but I'm glad they were watching my card so closely.)
When in doubt, use a number you *know* to be real and go from there. In this case, it seems it was all on the up and up even if it didn't look like it at first. - dI got this call on my cell immediately after placing an online order 8:30 pm. I am glad this site confirms who it was. I didnt answer the call, as I didnt recognize the number. I had used the card earlier in the evening for dinner. Probably an unusual spending pattern or something.
Thanks all! God bless you. - RNI received 2 calls about three hours apart. I didn't answer either one nor did they leave any message. I then got online and read the above comments. Rather than call the number I went to my Bank of America online account. My card had been frozen due to suspicious charges. I called the fraud number from the BoA website, and sure enough, someone had tried to use my credit card number twice online.
The caller clearly works for or is hired by BoA, but I wouldn't give any information to them. Call BoA directly. - SF GuyThis number is a FRAUD. I just got billed for Napster and an online telemarketer. Call the number on the back of your card and talk to BofA fraud department.
BofA knows about this number and can't seem to stop it. - FrankDefinitely BofA antifraud. I checked my account online and the account was frozen until I could verify purchases. 1 of them was fraudulent and BofA took care of it for me. I guess they don't leave messages because what's the point, any message left on your voicemail will sound fraudulent anyway, am I right?
Good going BofA, and thanks for catching that for me!!!! ***as if they were listening*** LOL!- Caller: Bank of America Antifraud Department
- TonyI got already 3 phone calls from 302-731-1166 today. It was on my new Blackberry provided by my employer... There should be no trace to me...
I am on no-call list so I immediately reported the calls. - MikeI used my Bank Of America card without calling to verify it and all that and I used it and the charge went through and within an hour BofA Anti-Fraud department called me from that number to verify I got the card and that it wasnt a fraudulent charge. And I picked up the second time but let it go to voicemail the first time because I did not know the number and they did NOT leave a message on the first call. Just FYI....
- Caller: BofA
- lizAfter viewing this website, i got freaked out and called BOA cust ser from bk of card,in regards to this number and if there was a problem on the ACCT. The regular customer service was not sure about the number and transfered me to there research dept. which indeed it came for them on verification on an large out of state purchase. It was just verification. Confirming the recent purchases.
- Caller: Bank of America
- JamesI received a call from them today but I did not answer. When I called back I received a busy signal. The number has the caller ID blocked.
James - Again with the SpamCouple calls a day, one about 7:53 every day, one mid afternoon. I've stopped answering it due to the similarly reported behavior described by others here.
NOTE: I some some speculation about the number being BOA security. It's not. The call the poster describes was with BOA. However this call interupted his call from BOA. Do not let this caller benefit from any credibility of BOA, whom just happened to be on the line by pure chance. (Not that banks are credible these days..) -Annoyed by "- Caller: unknown
