Oh, please. Give me a break. Anyone who holds a Bank of America account, please call their number stated in the back of any BoA-card, and you will see that this 302-731-1166 phone number is fake. And the other side, if this number would be a valid number, it would not be always busy!!! I would have gotten an automated message long time ago!!! So do NOT try to mislead others. Anyone can google and see that his phone number has a history back to 3-4 years!

    AWWW!!!
    SOOOO sorry...

I just got another phone call from this phone number, and yes, this is Bank of America Fraud Detection department.

No, they don't ask all the numbers of the social sec #, just the last 4-digit OR the billing zip code...

I was wrong (got several fraudulent phone calls nowadays, so I assumed automatically that this is one of them!)

    LOL
The scammers are now googling their own numbers and posting on message boards.

THIS IS A SCAM number for sure 100%.

I wish there was a way to get law enforcement to track and shut down these clearly fraudalent businesses. Would help me not to be on my toes all the time. I actually have a former roommate who fell to a BoA text message scam once.

i got 4 calls today from this number. I googled to see if i could find any info on it and i found this page. I decided to call the number back to see what they said. It was busy the first 2 times i attempted to call.    ( a real bank number would not be busy..) Finally the last time it rang, i was placed on hold, and " Kimberly" picked up and all she said was hello, can i please have the credit card number you are calling about".. i just hung up on her cuz bank of america does NOT just flat out ask you what your card number is like that. Actually they dont ask for your card number at all. After this, I called bank of america for myself to see what they had to say and the woman i spoke to said that she saw no reason on my account for the fraud department to call me and that its a good thing i hung up and didnt give them my info! SO... DO NOT GIVE THOSE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER! THEY ARE NOT BofA.

Got the call & also received an e-mail stating that they were making sure that the recent charges to my credit card were not fraudulent.  Checked my online banking & saw that there was an alert on the account.   So, it is legit.

I can pretty much guarantee this isnt BOA fraud prevention or any BOA affiliate for 3 reasons.

Number 1. I just logged onto my BOA online account to see if there is any recent activity that I might be unaware of, and there is not.....

Number 2. BOA does not have my cell phone number, they only have the land line, but this caller keeps calling my cell phone....... hmmm?  (4 times today)

Number 3. I contacted BOA myself and asked them if they were aware of any activity that looked suspicious, (just incase the online website wasnt current) and they said "no sir not at all, you have not had any card activity whatsoever in about 13 months".

So you guys saying this is fraud prevention, either are the dirtbag scammers calling us or you got scammed, at which point I'd highly recommend for you all to call the 1800 number to BOA and have them close that account ASAP..

I received a call last night from 302731116 and it did not leave a message.  I did a little research and when it called again this morning I picked up. The caller ID showed NEWARK  DE.

The call was an automated call from Bank of America Fraud department that clearly identified itself. It asked to verify my name; then enter my 5 digit billing ZIP Code or last 4 digits of Social Security Number.  After this, the system asked to verify 3 charges I had made yesterday - They used the exact amounts of the charges and the company names on the billing statement.

At the end, the call told you not to use the card within the next 5 minutes.  A simple verification will be if someone uses the card after missing this call and it is denied.

This is indeed a FRAUDULENT number.

I received two missed calls from them this morning. After looking online I saw multiple sources (including this site) where people have said it is a phishing scam. Despite the reports on here saying this is legit, I called B of A and was told there was no suspicious activity on my account and also that 302-731-1166 is NOT a number associated with B of A at all. This is a scam.

Um.  I called them back. they say they monitor fraudelent credit cards for visa, master card, amex.

Take it as a grain of warning.  Check with your credit card companies.
