Report a phone call from 302-731-1166 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- WhoIsItThe caller said this is the fraud protection department from Bank Of America and then the phone went dead! I got the number from my caller ID.
- JamesThe caller ID said Card Services. This is from Bank America fraud dept. It is legit. The only information I had to give was the billing zip code of my card and confirm they were talking to right person. They asked about a high dollar purchase I made from Amazon.com.
- TSafe....Rec'd a call and an email alert: It is Bank Of America Fraud protection dept. They actually prevented someone in the act of fraud when I clld this number.
- Caller: B of A
- jennaseaThis was from my credit card company about a potential fraud alert/hold on my account. They believed there was fraudulent activity on my account, but it was myself making the charge. I have a Bank of America Royal Caribbean card.
- Caller: Bank of America
- John DI received a call from this number and I thought it might be a scam so I hung up. I then called the number on the back of my credit card. And they confirmed that they had card services to notice a large item that I had purchased on my card. I bought a camera for myself for Christmas. I then advised them that I did make the purchase and it was a valid charge.
I suggest if anyone receives a call like that to not give any information. Instead call the number on the back of your card.- Caller: Card Service
- BrianThey just want to see if someone answers the phone, I wish they would at least let you know why they called. Makes sense, I used B of A CC to order from China.
- Caller: B of A??
- Maria HubbellThey claimed to have been Bank of America. Wanted some identification code. I hung up.
- Pirate JennyThis actually is Bank of America. I got three calls from this number on my cell phone, but no message was left until the third call; it was an automated message (that did include my name and the last 4 digits of my card number). It included a number to call back and a code to enter, but I chose to go directly to the Bank of America web site and contact them from there. I had recently started using the card again after a long period of inactivity, so they had put a fraud alert on my card. I also received an e-mailed alert from them after the third call.
With so many scammers out there, it's never a bad idea to just contact the credit card company directly through channels that you know are legitimate.- Caller: Bank of America
- Katy replies to EPI read this post, then figured I would call Bofa directly and see if they had any notes on my account. I had just done a purchase that came up as "clickandbuy" that I had authorized that I had a feeling might be causing an alert on my account. When I contacted the fraud department, it had been a concern and they had called me via an automated number. I guess it doesn't leave a message, but only plays a message when you pick up. Anyway, the number is legit, but just call Bofa directly. It's easier and that's what you have to do anyways.
- jimmyhI too received a call and no message was left. I was booking a hotel room in Fort Lauderdale, FL and typed in wrong information it was at that time that I received the call. Not recognizing the number and area code, I did not answer the the phone. I called Bank of America and they did not know anything about it.
- Caller: unknown possibly Bank of America
- JohnG replies to MikeI just bought something on the internet this afternoon, and within a few minutes, I received a call from this number, I called back and the person on the other side said, need my account number, I did not give him my account, but he ask for my phone number which I gave it to him, he then stated he see three transations, with different amount, a few pennies different, and it was denied, twice, I did ask to cancel these tranactions, the one that actually went thru, transferred me to the fraud department, where the message stated, they are closed for the weekend, I called BOA, and they stated, they work from them, I was kinda confused of the lack of customers services from the 302 731 1166, I felt much better after talking to BOA customer services. thank you
- BowHunter replies to Gary| 1 replyThis is a lie. This is a scam!!!!!
Calling this number puts you in touch with thieves,
SCAM
FRAUD - T.C.I don't have a BofA card or account and I've been getting calls... Definitely has to be a scam.
- AnOldManI received Bank of America emails indicating a possible false transaction from France. The emails said my wife's credit card had been deactivated.
A few seconds later, we received a call from this number. After navigating a menu tree, my wife finally talked to a live person. My wife told her that the transaction was false. The lady said the credit card was being canceled and new one would be mailed to her. I then tried to sign on to the Bank of America website and was told that account didn't exist. I also called an 800 number I got off the BOA website and was told they had in fact talked to my wife. I believe this to be a legitimate call, but will monitor the statements.
Had I not received the emails, I would not have answered this number.
If you received this on your caller ID, it would be wise to call the number on the back of your credit card.- Caller: Bank of America
- RP replies to BowHunterI had trouble getting information out of the person I spoke with at this number, and they couldn't find any file for me when I gave them my phone number and name. When they asked for a card number I told them I was uncomfortable with giving that information, and they suggested I call my card directly. I was never told they were representing Bank of America, but that they dealt with several major credit cards. If you received a call from this company you should call all of your credit card providers. Mine happened to be concerning my Bank of America card, and someone was trying to make a fraudulent purchase for almost $700!!!
These people may seem sketchy, but it's NOT A SCAM and you should call your credit card providers!!
IT'S NOT A SCAM, THESE PEOPLE HELPED ME LEARN MY CARD NUMBER HAD BEEN STOLEN!!! - ftlguyreceived a call on 1/30/2012 at 8:57PM from this number but didn't recognize the area code nor the number so didn't answer and no message was left
- Caller: unknown
- Cheryl MIts B of A and its legit. They didn't leave a message, so I Googled the number and found this board. Some comments said it was legit, so I tried logging into my B of A credit card account. B of A wouldn't let access my account information and stated I must call their Fraud Line - turns out they detected fraud on my card (from a Google search, nonetheless!). You don't have to call back the number, but do check your B of A credit cards just to be sure. Wow. Great customer service.
- Caller: Bank of America
- KCBank of America Credit Card Fraud Department, tried calling back, line was busy, logged into my acct online and got the direct #, called them, they picked up the fraud within a hour of the charge.
