- IrimisIf this is BoA, kind of weird how they handle the the calls. After looking at this message board I went to my online account and I had a fraud alert on it. I went though the process there and answered the call next time. I did not give my card number cause like others the professionalize is lacking from the company and since they don't say its BoA I won't give that info.
- Doc BThis turned out to really be B of A in my case.
The robot advised me to press 2 if I hadn't purchased anything from "Avenues India" and I was routed to a live person who did have the last 4 digits of my card before I gave it to him, he saw that I had a NetFlix charge coming up tomorrow (something no one would have known unless they were looking at my charge history.)
Turned out that indeed, B of A fraud had correctly tagged this $134.14 charge in India (!) as being a fraud and they cancelled my card on the spot.
It could be that someone is spoofing the B of A REAL number to "cash in" on this number, but in today's instance it was real and a good thing.- Caller: Bank Of America
- skeptic in LAJust got 2 call today one this morning and one just now, I tried dialing it from a landline and got a bad number. My recommendation is NOT answering it.
How creepy.- Caller: Unverified
- COkay -- I got 2 of these calls, did not answer, no voicemail messages left all within a few hours.
I called the bank of america credit card number (form their website) and they verified that this weird number was from a card service calling to make sure some of my pending transactions were charges made by me in fact (and they were, understandably I was buying tickets for a concert this summer in England since I will be there, so it seemed odd that the charges were out of the country). Anyway, all is good. You don't need to call this weird number back, just call BofA directly and they will help you.- Caller: Card service on behalf of BofA
- ASIt's legit ... Bank of America fraud department. They have called me several times over the last year or so and I verified through BOA. I hear from them when I place an order with Strawberrynet which is based out of Hong Kong. Heard from them again today within a minute after I had placed an order on line for a free trial of a vitamin supplement. I appreciate their monitoring.
- MichaelIt is B of A. I had 2 missed calls from them and called back. I didn't want to give the guy my info so I called the number on the back of the card instead. they looked up my account and my card number had been stolen and was being used. Just call the number on your card and you don't have to worry.
- TinaYep, got the same call...remember this happening about 2 years ago. I just don't answer it and ESPECIALLY don't call back with the different phone number and the code they asked me to enter. This is the first time, from what I remember that they've left a message.
If you ignore the calls, for me every three hours exactly (?:29), they eventually stop. Tried calling BBB and all and nothing.
Also said regarding unusually activity on my credit card account.
Message said to call back 1-866-559-0025.- Caller: [No Name]
- kathycalled me hung up, no message left, i called back and was told by a computer that an agent would be right with me
- SandyI received a call and couldn't respond in time to pick up. There was no message on our machine. Our caller ID said the number was 302-731-1166. Upon reading the reports listed here, I called Bank of America where we have several accounts and checked on this number. I was told that it's a "phishing" number.

- nnnThey called 2 times today. After giving them no information and checking with B of A, I called the FCC at 1-888-225-5322 and filed a complaint. You should do the same!!!
- BOA CustomerReceived the call immediately after I used the card to buy via internet and next day (Sunday) 8:30 am. Did not answer, but after reading this reports I called the Bank # on the back of my c.card.
Person who answered did not know but transfered me to the "Fraud Department". They confirmed that my card had a Fraud Alert and the transaction was denied because I had not used my card in a while (even though the amount was under $10). They comfirmed the number is from a service for Fraud and that was not the only number that could be calling, and recommended to use the # on the card like I did, to avoid scams.
Even though I had to coordinate again with the seller for validating my transaction, I'm glad Bank of America is so fast in preventing Fraud.- Caller: Service for Bank of America
- BOA Customer in Washington DCReceived a couple of calls from this number today, and went to check my Bank Of America account online. Sure enough there was a fraud warning on my account, and some (illegitimate) charges were pending. So this number is a legitimate BOA number (although that doesn't mean someone couldn't be spoofing the caller ID of course - so still a good idea to go to your online account or call the number on the back of your credit card).

- steveThis is Bank of America Card services. I saw the # on my cell and called it. They had found 2 fraudulant charges on my card. I only had to give them my name and address. They didn't require ssn or account number which I would not give them unless I was certain of their identity. They told me details of the card no one else could have known.
- Dan PrideHave gotten several unwanted calls from this number on my ATT phone.
Somebody hang this jerk by his nuts please - JMDI called BOA back instead from the # on the back of my credit card & they asked so many darn questions that I couldnt eremember all teh answers so they wouldnt verify that it was me that called them!
Ridiculous! So I still dont know if there's a problem or not, as the people I was able to talk to said my account appears fine.
I cant wait to pay all my cards off & lock em away, it's getting to be too much of a pain to use credit cards! Scammers can somehow get all my personal info, but when I call just to verify that its ok, I'm denied access!
BS! - melissaIts Bank of America. I have a credit card with them that I was using exclusively for balance transfer and when a purchase was initiated on the card, they blocked it because they think its suspicious. I actually think they're doing me favor with this which is good. But of course, the number seems suspicious at first till you speak somebody from the fraud department.
- anonI don't know what company called from this number, because they didn't leave a message. When I Googled the number, I came across these postings. I just called B of A instead and inquired about the card I had used this morning. They had put a fraud alert on it and needed to verify my recent purchases. I had not used the card in quite some time, so they wanted to be sure it was me using it.
- joethis is ridiculous, some people say it is legit, some people say it isnt. i havent used my boa card in over a month, check my account, nothing unusual.. i say its fraud, i was in class when they called so i immediately sent it to voice mail.it seems pretty fraudulent to me there was no voice mail.
maybe the people posting here saying saying its real are from the company. wouldnt be surprised if they start doing this now. - PaulWe received two calls from this number and after checking the messages posted on this website, we went on-line to check our account to find it was blocked by BOA.
We called the number on the back of the card and found out someone else was using the account for small purchases. So we were told not to use this card anymore. The bank was going to close that account and send a letter to us to confirm the information and open a new accout.
We're thankful they caught this before it got out of control. - MarkLike all of you they called and left no message so I then called them back and yes they immediately asked for 16 digit card number, I said no I don't so But I am curious who you are because someone just called here and didn't leave a message, they stated they are with Credit Card services Fraud dept. I said ok great what did you need then, Claudia stated my account number to verify some activity and I said noo I don't think so I don't just give that out to any Joe (or Jane) on the phone so she asked for the phone number that was called I gave it to her and she asked whom I speaking with I told her you just called me so you should have that info. so she gave me half I gave her the other half then I had HER give ME the last four digits of card to verify. then we went over some activity that I had just done. and told her sorry to be a pill but I am just being as cautious as you are being with me and I do appreciate your services watching over the CC
