Just got a call, the guy said he was doing a survey and asked about whether I had smoke alarms.  After some confusion he asked about whether I was the home owner.  It did not sound like a professional organization and their was background noise that seemed to me to be many people talking in the same room.

Just had the phone number come up on my caller ID also.  No one is there and when you try to call back, it says this call cannot be dialed, please contact your long distance carrier.

received an abusive "survey" call from this number on april 22, and another on april 26 --- first caller, male, refused to hang up, began shouting and name-calling, so i hung up; second caller, female, did hang up when asked.

Same as others, the phone calls with no one on line when picked up.It comes in as unknown,private,+ sign and the number, or just the number.Three times in the past 30 minutes

We've received several calls from this number with no messages.... if I try to call it back it doesn't go through.  I wish we could get off whatever list we're on.  It's annoying!!

I missed the call but the Voicemail they left on my Cell Phone, (On the Don't Not Call List) was just background noise, like they were waiting for me to say something after the outgoing message started.

male voice kept saying hello when answering machine picked up am on do not call list filed a complaint also phone call was after 9 pm

This number 401-401-0125 my caller ID said Rhode Island. And it does not leave any messages.

I got a call from this number, didn't leave a message and i tried to call back, but it says cannot be completed if dialed.

Caller ID says UN ASSIGN RI  401-401-0125. Smoke alarm story from a non english speaking male.   We are on the dnc list also and have been overloaded with "solicitation calls". We log each call and ask to be removed from their call list.  It is a law that they do this so I will pursue these J As.

called on my work phone - second time. no message and didn't get it answered.

Just got a call from this number a woman was on it and I could not hear what she said other than hello twice and I could tell I was on speaker phone...they called my cell!

Just got a call on my cell phone from an Indian who I think said, "This is not a sales call; do you have smoke detectors in your house?" I hung up on him!

Just received this call  from 401-401-0125 around 8:45 5/3/2010, i answered and had some of the same happen to me  no answer  until I said Hello 2x.. then a foreign woman started talking could not understand anything she was saying  except how are you doing tonight .. I then hung up.. this was called to my cell.

My wife, daughter and myself each received a call from this number yesterday on our cell phones. I answered the call and a lady stated she was an authorized GE rep, I told her do not call again and to remove the number from their calling list. After reading the posts here I reported it to Verizon and the rep said he would be sure to pass this on to his supervisor for follow up. He also said that any time you receive a call with a prefix before the area code DO NOT ANSWER. I am going to try to find a complaint number for GE and let them know, I doubt very much if they are connected to GE in any way. Maybe if everyone who gets the call would report it to GE they would take care of it.

Just rejected this number, Just looked too odd.  Checked the number here and thank the gods I didn't answer it.

Got a call from a foreign man talking about General Electrics. I asked how he got my number and he said it was public access or something along those lines. When I informed him that I am registered with the DO NOT CALL list and have been for about a year he apologized. When I asked for his name and agent number because I can press legal charges he hung up!! Now I have no way of finding out who it was and how to go after them. This is not acceptable!!! Whats the point of this list if it doesnt protect our privacy?!

Call came in 9 PM at our office. Caller ID showed XXXXXXXXXX RI -- no message left.
