401-401-4010

I've gotten this call a few times in the last couple of days. I usually wouldn't mind and just block the number, but this is on my WORK DESK PHONE!!! I don't have the luxury of blocking numbers... This is stupid... I don't have time for this crap, but here I am telling you about it!!! Oh well, I needed the break.

same as the rest. recieved the call, waited for it to go to vm. Ofcourse no message. The caller ID read Rhode Island call.

I got one a few days ago.  Answered and had a very strong accent saying they were calling from some lawyer's office.  I hung up.

Yep, got the call- no clue who it is, but I can find out easy enough. I google every number that calls my home I don't know. Consumer beware, tis the season for scams and con artists to step up their game- I'm ready.

Called after 9:00, would not say anything.

I just got 2 calls from this number within 15 minutes of each other.  The first  caller ID said Rhode Island the other said unknown.

same here, I thought the # was odd too so I looked it up here.  Rhode Island on my caller id and w/ the machine picked a man said hello & then hung up.

I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent.at 6:23 PM on 11/19/09.   She said she was conducting a survey in my area and she asked me questions about a fire alarm and fire safety.   I could hardly understand her.   Suddenly she said that I would receive a complimentary product (I couldn't understand what it was) for my trouble and then she hung up.   I immediately redialed the number and I heard a message that the number does not exist.   Sounds like a scam.   Now I need to wonder what someone will try to bill me for without my consent.  I was already on the Do Not Call list.

Someone JUST called me with that number and it said
XXXXXXXXXXX RI on caller ID and it's weird how I got a phone call right after someone rung my doorbell. D:

I got this call, could not able to  answen. I try to call back this number.  Operator said that number could not be completed please check the number and dial again or it could be disconnected number.  I is weird, this number just appears on my caller I.D. minutes ago.

These people are slimy. I just got called and talked to a heavily-accented woman who wanted to know how many fire alarms are in our house. I told her to remove our number from their database and she said no, that I needed a reason, yet no reason I gave was the right reason. Then I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager. I said "You're lying" a few times and she eventually put someone else on. She refused to remove my number also, so I said "Do you want my credit card number?" out of the blue she said, "YES". Then I started giving fake numbers like 27*4, divide that by 2, multiply by PI. Eventually she got frustrated and hung up! I am completely serious. It was almost fun, and if they call back I want to ask her about the Bhagavad Gita or if she's seen Slumdog Millionaire. And tell her my house has as many fire alarms as there are stars in the sky. Don't judge me - everybody needs a hobby.

Just got a call from this number; it said "Unknown call RI." Strong Indian accent. I told her to take our number off our list and that we are on the DNC list. She said something like, "No, I will call you everyday until you answer. You need to complete a short survey." When I asked what company she was calling from, she actually said, "Why should I tell you that." I asked for her supervisor, and she said, " I am the supervisor." Extremely annoying. I will report the number.

I also got this call last night but mine was a bit different, where the name should be to tell who is calling it was my own home phone number as the caller then 1-401-401-4010 as the number..I let the machine get it and it was static and then it was a childs voice saying "ooooohhh" Like you'd hear at halloween  . i immediatley redialed the number and it told me that this number was no longer in service to check the number and try again ....Wierd

I got 4014014010 no VM were is that its the 3rd time this week and i am only 14

Got it three xs tonight, and many other times, this past month. Never anyone there, if I do answer & unable to call it back...

I thought it'd be fun to pile on. Just like everyone else on this post, I got a call from 401-401-4010, came up Rhode Island on caller id. I never answer phone unless it's someone I wish to speak with and thes pigs never leave a message. Typical salesman or survey [***]! They can call until the cows come home, I will not answer. I think it's kind of fun to have these jokers constantly call only to experience frustration!

called me 9:02pm, a woman's voice...i couldnt hear her because i was playing Modern Warfare 2

Got a call from (401)401-4010 about six times so far today. Three times I picked up the phone, but the line disconnected promptly when I picked. So the next times I just let it ring. It disconnects when voicemail picks up the call after about 5 rings. I think there is no voice there. It behaves like a machine that is seeking a certain response that I'm not giving it. Maybe it's a fax machine that wants a beep tone like an answering fax would give it.

That number just called again. I answered it. It plainly was a "boiler room" call, with heavy background noise of others on the phone also. He said his name was Mark and that it wasn't a sales call. I can't name his accent, but it wasn't American. He wanted to know if I have smoke alarms at home, and if I change the batteries. I told him my smoke alarms are AC powered (because they are). Then he asked if I have any concerns about fire, medical emergency, or break-ins. I told him I know these things can happen, but I don't worry about them (my anxiety level is low). Then he asked if I'm the home owner. I told him this is a business. When he learned that I'm not the business owner (I work here, am employed), he politely encouraged me to have a nice day and concluded the call.
