401-401-4010

My call was the same as everyone's. No one else thinks this is FRANKLIN CREDIT? ...'cause I've had about 25 calls from them from different numbers. I don't owe anybody any money. These lowlife's are NOT looking for me.

The call was somewhat threatening, in that an oriental voice said "what are your main concerns, fire, break ins, etc"

This phone number has been listed on our caller ID twice, now.

Caller asked if I had smoke detectors in my home and was calling
on behalf of my community, I asked him what community I was in and
he got mad and swore and said F me but said the word and hung up on me.

Pittsburgh area: this number called me about 8:50pm and hung up as soon as I answered.

Received the call today at 2:23pm - said they were duing a survey around the area - asked if he had smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, changed the batteries and asked which of the three we were most concerned with fire, theft - I don't remember the third, he had a very thick accent.  Then said for participating in the survey we could win something - that's when i go really suspicous and said no thanks and he became very upset trying to explain something and I said not interested, and he became very upset and I just hung up.

Got a call with a hang-up when I said hello.  I did *69 (it came in on a land line) and got info that the call was from 401-401-4010.  That number's just too weird.  Two minutes later -- same call, same number.   I let VM pick up, no message left.

Call came on my company business line at 9:15 pm (I am an alarm co!) telling me it was a survey if I had fire alarms.  Asked who he was from, told me Monotronics (National alarm sales, instalation, and monitoring co) and I told him it was 9:15, it was silling calling an alarm company that sold smoke detectors, and remove me from the call list and it was after 9 PM

I got a call from 401-401-4010.  I called it back and the phone lady said the number wasn't in service. (10-14-09)

Okay, I just got this call. I live in Rhode Island so I know the area code in triple digets was odd. I didn't answer. It came about 11:23 am. During the middle of the recording, I heard "Hello" and then when my message ended, it was silent.

Left the answering machine answer. Couldn't understand the few words recorded.
They almost sounded foreign.

Jut got the call at 12:10 p.m. on 10/16/09 EST.  It states 401-401-4010 Rhode Island.  I picked up, got a "hello" and then they hung up.  Called the number back and it stated "We're sorry, the number you dialed cannot be completed as dialed.  Please checked the number again..."

I got the same call last night (10/16 at 8:10 p.m.) and the same 401-401-4010 number showed, but the Caller ID said "International".  The heavily accented male caller asked me if my house had an alarm but I just kept saying "hello" every time he asked me a question until he just hung up. I am in NH and I know that is a Rhode Island area code.

I got this call through my cell phone 10/17 and on my landline a month or so before. Stupidly (I was half asleep and not feeling well)I answered my cell and it was a guy from India wanting me to take a survey of some kind. I told him I was sick and had been sleeping and NO I wasn't taking a survey. I said good-bye and that was the end of it. For now anyway. 401 is Rhode Island, but I am certain this call did not come from Rhode Island.

My husband got a call from the mumber 401-4010 and a gentleman said he was calling from India. He said this call was in regards to alarm systems.   This is a SCAM!!!!   Big time!!!  This is the second phone number that was a scam!   Getting pretty tired of these people and their lies!!!!!!!

I just got a call from this number and talked with a woman who wanted to know if I had smoke detectors in the house, then fire extinguishers and what was I most concerned about, fire, burglary or storm damage and of course wanted to know if I was the owner of my house, I told her Im just the babysitter then she wasn't interested in talking to me anymore and hung up.  Oh well. I hope they don't call back.

Hi, greetings to you from Rhode Island, home to GI Joe, My Little Pony and good old Mr. Potato Head :)   This is regarding the "401" number, I have also gotten one of these calls, last night around 5pm.  Although a message was not left on the answering machine enough background noise was audible (and for 64 seconds, I counted) to hear talking and phones ringing, a Call Center I would bet.  Since the call came to a Hospice residence a trace will be placed on the line, once I know who it is I'll pass along the information.

I Googled "Monotronics", they are an alarm company and evidently have numerous complaints.  I don't know where in RI they are calling from but will try looking.

Just got his phone call. Got the male caller and was also off my game...so I answered a couple of questions. Finally when he asked if I owned my home, I told him that I wasn't going to answer any questions unless he could provide me with further info re: the reason for his call (he had mentioned the community before). He would not, so I hung up. So glad to see others posting; one gets nervous when they are asked if they fear a house fire or break in.
I tried to follow a lead that said that their business is indijewel...from Cranston Rhode Island, but when I called that number, the woman who answered had a New England accent and there was no background noise.
Go figure.

I got this call this afternoon.  When I saw the number I went right to my computer to check it out.  When I answered all i got was clicking in background..I hung up quickly!
