i called back as they never left message.  I think it is a legit UHC call but that number is an outgoing call line only

This is Optum Bank.  They called about my HSA.  It's not a scam.

This number was my fathers script company calling about updating info on his physician. He has recently moved in with me, so has a new Dr. Was No Scam.

The number is United Health Care. The call has to do with either approve, decline, follow up with medications, treatments, surgeries, or update/correct personal information.

Very bizarre experience with this number tonight. I called the UHC customer service line and was transferred to a woman in billing (Which of course I assumed was legit). After this woman had no idea what was going on with my account, I hung up. She then called me back from this number twice. The second time I answered and she insisted she wanted to help me cancel my autopayments, and asked for my bank name, routing number, card number, you name it. This was a huge red flag so I said no, but I had already given her my ssn during our first call. Are these calls getting intercepted? How was I transferred to her from the UHC customer service line listed on my insurance card?? Best part, I finally access my online account and it says my autopayments have already been terminated. This is a scam!!

I just got a call from this ghost phone number (763) 274-3899. As I was reading the many post about this number. I noticed that this has been going on since 2009?   What the hell!!!!  I don't know where to start researching this but, I'll figure it out somehow.

It is too bad that scammers have made us all paranoid.  United Health Care does call for legitimate reasons.  It is not a scam.  It would help if those hanging up from UHC would leave a message that does not violate HIPAA, just to keep the silliness appearing on this site to abate.  Chill out.  You may live longer for a couple of reasons.

Optum does the med prior authorization for UHC. I just got a couple letters from them.

763-274-3899  is really a number from United Health Care -  Just got a call and they left a voice mail  - it was from one of their reps who my mom actually has a home visit scheduled with and they were calling to reschedule.

Actually it's not a scam. It's Optum Bank call back #866.234.8913. They handle HSA/HRA accpunts for companies.

Whatever it is help or anything they  must send an official letter informing people and asking questions. Doing this on phone is illigal

This is United Healthcare. I did not recognize the number and allowed it to go to my voicemail, they did not leave a message. However they did call me right back and this time I answered and it was the agent I had talked to earlier this morning at UHC.

I have gotten 4 calls from this number in the last 10 mins. They don't leave a voice mail. I won't respond or answer. The name appears as Optum.

I went to pick up my medicine and my insurance was cancelled even though I am paid current.  UHC said I owed a bunch of back money and told me I had to pay back the refund I received early last year for them to reinstate it.  I told them I didn't have the money but they had to take minimum $57 and change to make it active again.  My insurance being lapsed even though current, I didn't even think about it being a scam.  I'm not usually this stupid.  I guess I'll be calling my bank to stop payment............daaa

These folks asked for my ssn, bank routing and checking info, etc.

I was on the phone with UHC when this phone number came in.  They said it is some insurance place that works for them at collects back debt.  I told them that I didn't have back debt.  I guess when UHC refunded me money last summer (2015) they over gave.  I owed them some back.  I told them a letter informing me would have been nice.  They are sending a notice upstairs to let people know when they owe money.  It would be helpful if we knew.  I paid them the balance and finished the conversation.  I hate UHC  I don't know who to believe.  scam artist or UHC.  is there a difference?

Considering your call never said it was emergency and that you completely ignored my message explaining how prescription questions can be solved, I concur you're somehow a fake and I have no intention to call you back.  Also that you do not take return calls is sincerely suspicious.

They called me about a prescription I receive from UPS in a cooler every month and wanted to confirm I would be home in my delivery day.

I got a call from 763-274-3899 asking for a person I do not know. I told them that the person they are calling does not live here. I asked that the number be removed from their list of call numbers. They said that they would tell the doctor. After hanging up, I thought to myself that must have been a scam and the caller might get me to hold on if the call was from a doctor/  There are so many scams out there it is important to no get rigged in by their calls. Life in prison would be the best solution for this kind of stuff. Not laws will ever be passed to stop it because they would have to stop the political calls as well. which I receive at least four a day.

I received a call from this number.  It was actually OptumRx calling to clarify a prescription.
