    Hello All,
This phone number belongs to Optum/UHC. I work for one of their specialty pharmacies and every time this number calls and I run the caller ID to find out the callers name, I get an abundance of patients who are registered in our system with the help of Optum Employees. This is a legitimate health company, but if you ever feel that the questions are invasive you are more than welcome to refuse to answer. We have many ways of verifying who we are calling without taking extremely personal information. Please keep in mind though that because of HIPAA health laws, we can't give you specifics on why we are calling until we have verified that you're actually the patient or member we are trying to speak with. We understand the skepticism, we get scam calls at home too! We're happy to try and work with you to find a way to verify who you are in order to prove that we're calling for legitimate reasons.
In fact, I searched Google for this number today because a patient called to refill a medication and told me she got a call from someone claiming to work for my company who asked her for personal info and she wanted to know if it was really one of us. I didn't recognize the number at first so I told her it's good that she didn't give them any info and that they don't work here. But after searching this number in my internal system, I have found that it is Optum. I plan on telling my supervisor that we need to find better ways to identify ourselves because of all the spam reports I've found on this site, but you're all perfectly justified in being concerned and/or upset.

Have a great day and I hope this post has helped to ease some concerns!

This is only one of the phone numbers used by Health Innovations from Minneapolis,MN.  The are providers of service for hearing aids.  The provide a service for United Healthcare Insurance.  I had not been answering either because It showed up on my caller ID as OPTUm(evidently the manufacturer).  Anyway they are legit!  I have purchased hearing aids from them.  Not a scam!!

I got a 763-274-3899 call this afternoon. The caller said her name was Crystal, from United Health Care and she was calling in "reference to an application that's been received." She left a voice mail instructing me to call 888-877-7603, M-F, between the hours of 7am-7pm CST. Based on previous comments, it appears this is an old scam. I blocked the number.

Called my work # twice in 20 minutes. While I was not here. I have never had UHC or order prescriptions via mail. So this smells of a scam. Also, looks like maybe the scammer(s) might be filling it with "good" reviews. With no voicemail left. 763-274-3899

I get an average of twenty scam calls a week trying everything fraudulent you can imagine.  I received a call from this number, caller ID said OPTUM.  I don't have UHC, I have other insurance with no connection to UHC.  I agree with those who say this is a scam.  At best, it's an unwanted solicitation.

I received a call from this number today on my personal cell phone asking if they had reached a non-profit org (which I won't name). I'm not employed by this org but do business with them. Suspect it was a scam. If it wasn't, they seriously need to get their info!!

Not a scam.  A return call from Briova Specialty Pharmacy, part of OptumRX, verifying info regarding a refill that I had initiated earlier in the day.  This number is legit.

I got a call from this # and since it was not in my phone I didn't answer, I looked it up and seen it was OptumRx  so I called the number that was in my phone and they told me it was their phone number and we got a problem that I was having straightened out.  All is OK ..

Just got a call from 763-274-3899. Since I did not recognize the number, I did not answer. They did leave a message and I knew exactly what it was about. They are not a scam, but apparently a 3rd party doctors use for getting approvals through a patient's insurance company for various things - in my case, a new medication through United Healthcare.

This is an "outbound only line" used by AARP Plan. Wish that they'd leave a message instead of simply random calling. It also may help if they left a return call number.

Received a call from this number and didn't answer. It could of been someone from United Healthcare as I did contact them earlier today, however no message was left which I find suspicious. Glad I'm able to screen calls ... I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize!

Just to let anyone that receives a call from this number, it is legitimate. I received a call today from this number, didn't recognize it so i let it go to voicemail. I googled the number before he could finish his message. I was sure it was a scam after reading some of the reports on here, but I had called in my mom's medications  to be refilled to optumRx just 30 mins before and spoke to a representative. I listened to the message that was left and it was the customer service representative calling to give me information on the order I had placed. It was the same gentleman I spoke to earlier. So this is a legitimate number. Hope this helps anyone that receives a call from them.

A Call asking me to call 1-855-259-0701 "to avoid a lapse in coverage" ... "if I have any questions or need assistance or not" ...  "your new packet please contact" (see the number given above in this note). I have a screen shot of the transcription of the voice mail left on my phone.

I do not have health insurance with this (if it exists) company.  I blocked the number and reported it to the 'Unwanted Call' listing on the government Do Not Call site. I also took a snap shot of the transcribed phone message left.

I work for a hospital system billing department, dealing directly with insurance companies. The phone number, 763-274-3899, is a legit United Healthcare phone number. May show up as OPTUM on caller ID. It's what shows up on my caller ID when UHC reps call me back regarding accounts I've spoken with them about.

Optum is a third party plan administrater. They manage customer service calls, prescription benefits/home delivery, HSA bank accounts, etc. They partner with UHC for rx home delivery and customer service.

All that being said, there are plenty of ways to spoof a phone number to show up on caller ID. So as with any call, exercise caution when giving out any personal information. The difficulty with this when it comes to medical claims/issues is that with HIPAA laws, we also can't disclose personal information until we verify who we're speaking to.
