800-456-3355

I received a call from this number twice-- last year and today about a laptop I bought several years ago (I think ---this is my third Dell) and was following up on old tech support calls I made. I do not recall the problems ( I know of one that was CAUSED by their foreign tech support- old computer) -- but I did not want to discuss it and i was polite and ended call. He had a British accent--- that is a first!

From these posts, it sounds as if 1) some of the calls are legitimate Dell calls and 2) some are not. Of the latter, the calls could be spoofed or some Dell customer service people are moonlighting as identity thieves. I would think, though, that being a computer company and all, Dell's first line of legitimate communication would be email.

Just recived a call for the 456-3355 number @9:50 pm..now we all know tht is not aloud, so you tell me how is this a lagit  call

Weird. I got a call from this number and they left a voicemail.  Its was some girl, "Hey Babe, Give me a call back"  Weird.

Legit call from Dell asking if I had any issues (was happy) with a pc I bought about two months ago.

got 2 call on Sunday morning.. first one hung up after 2 rings.  I answered the second call.  Woman with accent said she was from Dell and was checking on the zip code for a computer ordered with my husbands American Express card.  She was verifiying the correct zip code.  I knew my husband was thinking about new computer but did not know.  Was surprised since we decided years ago to never buy DELL again since we were harrassed for years about someone else account with the last name long after our computer was paid off. Also Dell financial has deceptive practices.   Anyway.. she said she would call him on his cell phone - which she had the number.  I called him and he verified HE DID NOT PURCHASE ANY COMPUTER... I am alarmed and find that when I call the 800 back no one is in any department till tomorrow.except technical support and they deny making any phone calls whatsoever.   I am thinking that this was a fraudulent call made by someone who masks thier phone number with a legit phone number.  It can be done and I have had telephone scammers do it before using local numbers to make you think you are recieving a local call when not.

It is Dell Small & Medium Business Customer service.  I call this number quite frequently and even have it listed in my cell's address book

DID NOT ORDER A COMPUTER  AND I RECEIVED ONE ,WHY IS THIS

This number really is Dell calling. They were attempting to sell me extended warrenty. The poster that says dell is asking for SSN is full of it. Only info they wanted was my service tag

The above is correct, it is a valid Dell Computer number, either tech support or customer care.

Got the same message as everyone else did - 800-456-3355.
Just don't give them any information what ever you do.

They are all in kahuts there in Bangladesh. I got a call today informing me that my laptap maybe infected with spywares and they could see into my laptap. They even have my laptap service tag which they can only get if they are in fact Dell people. Fooled enough they identified 8 threats which had been isolated and proceeded to offer me good deal for their Super software and extend my service warranty with a price. I told them they were scammers so they hang up. I immediately did a Restore in my laptap and hope that they did not copy my harddrive. I called the same number, finally ended up with their tech support and they denied that they were the ones, but ended up trying to sell me extended warranty.

Got a call from this number and when I called them back got no one at the other end except for a machine saying Dell .  Anyway, while I have Dell products I do not deal with cold callers. Normal I deal with emails from them unless they request a phone conference. Scammers may be what this is!!

My cell phone rang and it was this 800 number (800 456 3355).  I didn't answer it because it was an 800 #, but then it rang again right after the first episode, plus my house phone had rang, too, inbetween the 2 cell phone calls, so I answered my cell the second time it rang, showing this number.  What I heard was just a bunch of garble, really weird noises on the other end, with me saying "hello, hello" on my end, so I just hung up.  Annoying!

If this is someone calling from Dell, then why did they call five times in a row in quick succession (I didn't answer it), especially when I have done no business with Dell? If it was truly important, they would have left a message. If they have time to call and let it ring five times in a row, they have time to leave a message. It has all the signs of a call that is not legit. Either that, or someone needs a lesson in telephone etiquette.

I got a call from this number at work. The only way for anyone to reach me without a transfer from the front desk is by dialing my direct number/extension which I do not give out outside of the business at which I work. It showed up on the caller ID as TOLL FREE CALL with phone# 800-456-3355. I did not answer and they did not leave a message.

I see alot of messages regarding DELL. I have not had a DELL account in over 6 years and have not purchased anything from DELL in over 10 years.

Dell called to correct my order that was placed fraudulently. They called back a few days later to tell me they received the computer isent back and would credit my account.They also e-mailed me return tracking information.

Keep getting these calls.Scam central
